Chapter 3: Missing

My heart ached, I have never been alone. My pack would always be at my side, especially Wotoh. I was in the middle of nowhere, no matter how loud I howled my pack would never find me. I crowded into a bush, two brothers wandered below the nearby cliff, they wanted food, but their was no REAL food around, no deer, no elk. Only coyote food, like sheep and goats. I saw them trying to take down a lamb, I was disappointed in my own species, I looked around, making sure their wasn't anyone else. Movement came from a rustle off trees nearby. It was a wolf. Not any wolf. But Wotoh. His sides bled, scratches all along his pelt, nowhere around him did I see a clean spot, I slinked over, making no attention to the disappointments, "Wotoh.." I whispered, no answer, I went closer, "Wotoh.." I whispered once again. His ears leaped up, his eyes in glory. He licked my snout, "We need to leave, now." I said urgently, the brothers had caught wind of us, this was bad, considering the conditions we we're in, and Wotoh, how injured he was, I needed to protect him, at all costs. I leaped out of the shrubs, taking distraction while he ran silently for a new place to hide. My legs felt like giving out, Wotoh was away now, 'I will find him again.' I told myself as I headed straight towards them. I felt cold punches along me neck, with a snap from my paw.
