Chapter 34: Annihilation: Part Four
I smiled as I looked at the destruction unfolding in front of my eyes—blessing them. The symphony of terrifying yet comforting sounds sounded like music and soothed my ears whilst also feeling akin to putting acid in them—the high-pitched screeching sound of spacetime getting torn apart. The sheer brightness of the beam which dared to consume everything in its path. The sheer size of the said beam—having a radius of a whopping eight meters.
Anyone unfortunate enough to lay their eyes upon this majestic breath of utter annihilation, The Breath Of Ouroboros, couldn't help but quiver at the sheer destruction and chaos the said beam was blessing upon this world. That was a testament to just how terrifying it was.
Even I, the person responsible for the beam, was terrified beyond compared. But even more than that, even more than terror, I was feeling exhilaration, thrill! My heart was beating faster than it ever had, my mind was working harder than it ever could, my body was feeling better than it ever would. The sheer adrenaline which was pumping within me couldn't be rivaled by any events in my past life and this.
My breath tore through the fabric of reality itself as it bore a hole measuring hundreds of meters in radius on the ground. In a radius of almost a thousand meters, it stopped the stopped time—a feat of sheer power which I wouldn't have ever imagined of accomplishing.
If someone only looked at me, then, they would see a dragon—as big as a lion—with majestic pale white scales and regal wings, floating mesmerized—midair, thousands of kilometers high—and amazed.
I mean who wouldn't be at the sight of sheer destruction, especially if that being was human. After all, among all the beings I knew, terrestrial or extra, no one could rival the hunger of destruction and chaos that the beings known as humans did. They created weapons which would make any sentient race question their sanity, made reforms and "developments" whose only purpose was to make sure that they had as much power in their hands as they could, made entire systems so that they would, willingly or not, have to create destruction. And that destructiveness, that chaos, it would be targeted to everyone, even themselves, and with no objections. Among all the beings which we had wars with, no one has killed more humans other than humans themselves.
I quickly snapped out of the moment of mesmerization, as I started to fire the beam at any and all directions, using all the aerial techniques I learned in an instant due to Prophet. Using it really felt like a cheat—I was looking into the freaking future after all, though only two seconds.
The beam had already attained a massive length, at least ten kilometers, so moving it all over the place allowed it cut through so much earth. And it did so just like a hot knife through butter, no, it was even better than that. Just seeing it showed me just how powerful my attack's annihilation ability was.
But I wasn't stopping any time soon, and neither was the destruction. In just ten mere seconds, most of the forest was split apart, massive and very deep gashes were littered in the ground. The mountains which I had first seen in the world had most of their body vaporized and banished to the shadow realm. Time had now been resumed in various places, making the scenery look quite different and otherworldly—as there would some intervals where time was stopped and then there would be some, where it was resumed. Because of that, there were some parts of the mountain which were floating midair as nothing had happened, right above the place that would've fit perfectly in a nuclear wasteland.
It almost felt poetic; I knew for a fact that if a cultured individual—who wouldn't be terrified at the sight of the event happening around him—could probably extract some deeper meanings out of this, a meaning which would be above me. But I couldn't care enough about meaning in an artwork—I already knew how bad I was in verifying the worth of art.
I just continued the rampage, blessing this world with chaos and destruction. I was mesmerized and awestruck at just how easily my surrounding changed, how easily I destroyed them. It was something which I couldn't put into words.
The rampage continued for the next ten minutes, "painting" my entire surrounding with massive gashes of destruction and covering it with chaos. Just looking at the very scenery would make someone question their own sanity—that was just how otherworldly it was and I wasn't even including the time stops and resumes intervals which made it a lot more otherworldly.
I started looking around my surroundings, flying towards places where I wanted to have an even closer look. I was amazed and filled with awe at the sight I had created; to say that I was feeling joyous would be an understatement.
"This feels really great!" I said in a mildly sexual and relieved tone.
It was strange to say such things, but why wouldn't I, just looking at my surroundings made me feel sexual relief. It was a very kinky thing to say, but what could I do, I had a body of a very kinky dragon—not that I complained about it or anything.
There were massive craters in the ground, the sky was split in half, the clouds annihilated, the green ground covered by nature had been turned into a barren wasteland with massive sinkholes and gashes covering it. The distant mountains completely leveled, nothing remaining of their former glory. Everything looked just the time of the Great Collapse.
I couldn't help but nod to myself as I looked around.
