Chapter 3: Inheritance
The moment Aaron looked up, the cave rocks started glowing and a small ray of light shot into his head.
The moment it was shot into his head, Aaron shuddered and fell to the ground.
Inside his head, he could see a small tower residing there.
Aaron was a bit disappointed, one of the strongest mages inheritance, but all it was, was a small tower.
That the moment he heard his voice "ha ha ha" the old man started laughing.
Aaron looked around the cave but couldn't find him. He thought after the inheritance, the old man would vanish, but he was wrong.
"You might be wondering why my inheritance was just some lousy tower, well the answer to that is, there was no inheritance. The one who manages to open the seal on the scroll automatically becomes my successor. That means I will guide you to the top of the world. You will become the strongest mage to ever exist!"
Hearing the old mans words, Aarons body couldn't help but shake, being guided by the strongest mage of all time, he will reach the top of the world.
"Now that you have become my successor, we should get out of here and start to train, also I haven't been outside in thousands of years. Oh! before we go out we should head over to the elemental formation I had laid deeper in the cave. As you know kids will naturally awaken their innate elements in the range of- Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Space, Light, Darkness and Life, and each person can awaken maximum one and some may never awaken them. With the help of this formation, I can forcefully awaken the element which I choose, you will be following the path of a space mage, the element I specialised in. This element is part of the four rare elements - Space, Life, Light and Darkness. Now get in the middle, this might be painful so bear with it, I would've awakened more elements but it simply goes against the laws of nature so your body will get destroyed."
After listening to the old man speak, Aaron stepped into the middle and closed his eyes.
The old man activated the formation, and soon an unknown energy forcefully entered his body.
It felt like his skin was slowly tearing apart, every pore on his body being stretched out. Aaron slowly started to lose consciousness and finally fainted.
In his sleep, he could see specks of silver floating around and guessed that must've been the space element.
He was truly happy, awakening one of the four rare elements showed that you had good talent, the rest depended on the compatibility of the element and the absorption speed of mageforce.
This would all be tested in the aptitude test when someone turns nine years old, and also decided which academy you would be attending, so it was very important.
After a few minutes, Aaron finally got up with a throbbing headache. "Okay, now that that's done, let's get out of this place! I want to see the world outside!" Said the old man.
They then both made their way back to the village.
