Chapter 27: Lucky

As Jiang Xiurong was looking at him, Wang Deming slowly placed his arms on the both sides of her cheeks after clearing the stray hair that came on her eyes and then used his thumbs to clean the water from her cheeks.

He cleaned under her eyes until there was no speck of moisture left on her fine skin. He then saw the dumbfounded look on her face along with her red eyes which kept on blinking while looking at him as if they were analyzing something about him and he softly placed a peck on her lips.

As soon as he placed a peck, he instantly moved a few inches away from her face so that he wouldn't disturb her from 'analyzing' his face. If his wife wants to see his face, he would allow her to do so for as long as she wanted to.

Even after the peck, the expression on Jiang Xiurong's face did not change as she still was standing in a daze and looking at him while softly blinking her eyes which were still dark from crying for so long.

His heart felt ache looking at her eyes being so red and wanted to kiss them to soothe them but she was busy using them to watch him. He did not want to disturb her and decided to plant another kiss in between her eyes and did the same.

He then looked at her eyes and said softly, "You are not allowed to cry in front of any one else other than me. This look should belong to only me. Do you understand?"

In a daze she simply nodded her head and suddenly when his words registered in her mind, she blushed and bent her head. Looking at her flustered look, he did not tease her anymore or did not ask her for the reason she had cried so hard just now.

He would never force her to say something that she did not want to say. If one day she decided to tell him by herself, then he would be ready to listen to her. Until then, he would maintain his silence without asking anything and simply support her in all her decisions and feelings.

Thus he decided to change the topic, "Let's go out on a stroll. Didn't mother tell you to change a few things in the manor? Let us go and see if you like anything in the shops outside. If you don't like anything we can still ask our imperial artisans to specially make them for us. Do you want to go with me?"

Jiang Xiurong heard his words and felt that it is better to take a stroll outside and calm herself. She also understood his intentions and smiled softly at him and said, "Thank you."

Wang Deming patted the top of her head and said, "There is no need to thank me. Remember that I am your husband. You should learn to order me around and not thank me for everything I do for you."

His words made her smile bloom into a brighter flower. Her smile made Wang Deming feel like his life was finally lit up with the shine that he always wanted. There is nothing more that he would want in his life more than this.

He had silently vowed to himself to protect this smile with whatever he had got. He smiled looking at her sweet and warm smile which does not have any fakeness that was shown in front of everyone else.

This is his first time seeing her smile this way. His idea of her was refreshed and felt more intrigued to watch all the other sides of her too. Her 'true' sides which were not shown to anyone else.

Within one day after marriage, he had seen her being flushed, crying, being innocent, and also her genuine smile. Looks like his marriage gave him all the luck of his life making him the most lucky man in the world.

Otherwise how could he have seen all these sides of her which she had never even shown someone even from her family? This is definitely because of his luck. The luck that she has brought to him, into his life.

Looking at her beautiful face, he nodded to himself. He is lucky indeed. Otherwise would he get himself such an awesome wife?
