Chapter 79: Trouble
It only took Rem a few minutes to arrive at the blacksmith shop. Rem glanced at the shop.
'This place hadn't changed at all...' Rem thought, entering the shop.
"Oh, good evening!" An unfamiliar woman greeted Rem, smiling.
"Good evening." Rem replied.
"I would like to merge these magic stones on each weapon here." Rem stated.
"I see. My husband is crafting a sword right now. Please wait a moment while I call him here." The woman smiled warmly at Rem.
She then opened the door at the back of the shop.
"Honey!!! Come out here! Someone wants to see you." The woman yelled.
"I'll be right there!" He yelled back.
"Sorry about that." The woman apologized.
"It's alright." Rem said, unfazed.
"Okay, I'm here. Is something the problem?" A man who walked in from the back door, covered in sweat asked.
"This young man said he wants to merge these stones onto these weapons." The woman explained.
"Let me see." The man looked at the stones and weapons carefully.
"I-Is this a magic stone??? These weapons too! They're all purple grade!!!" The man was shocked.
"Aren't they super rare and expensive? This is my first time seeing these..." The woman was amazed.
"Yes, it is. Can you do it?" Rem tilted her head slightly.
"I'm sure I can. I've been a blacksmith for my whole life! It's just... Are you really okay with letting me do this? These are magic stones! The weapons too... They're..!" The man didn't know what to say.
"Alright... I'll change my question. Will you do it?" Rem asked in a serious tone.
"Yes! It's an honor! Although this is my first time doing this, I'll definitely complete this successfully without fail!" The man said confidently.
"How long will this take?"
"I'd say at most a week if I work my head off." The man stated.
"Then I'll leave this to you." Rem walked towards the exit of the shop.
"Of course! I'll get this finished in a week! You can pay after I finish." The man said, taking the magic stones and weapons outside where he made weapons, armor, and items.
"Got it. Bye." Rem exited the shop, walking towards her dorm room.
It was almost 9 p.m. Rem was walking back to her dorm room in a dark alleyway where there are no people in sight.
"KAWWW!!!" A similar voice said.
Right when Rem heard the noise, she immediately knew who it was. Something was approaching Rem at a very quick speed.
"E-EMERGENCY!!!" The voice yelled, falling flat on the ground in front of Rem.
"What is it Karasu? What happened?" Rem could sense something wrong.
"Roy! Roy is in trouble!!!" Karasu flew onto Rem's shoulder.
"What??!" Rem was shocked.
'How is he in trouble? He's quite strong. Unless... There's someone or something stronger than him..?'
"Around 10 minutes ago, Roy and I encountered a serpent. I could sense that it's not an ordinary one. It's very dangerous! There's a barrier around the forest. That's why I couldn't communicate with you. I had to come here to tell you this. Roy needs help right now!" Karasu said quickly.
"Lead the way," Rem ordered.
Karasu nodded and flew towards the direction Roy's at. Since Karasu is a being Rem crated with her shadow magic, Karasu's speed is the same as Rem's.
'I hope he's not hurt too bad... I can't communicate with him..! Urghhh!!!' Rem followed Karasu.
All she could do for now was hope that Roy is not injured severely.
