Chapter 151: Two High-Ranked Demons

The two high-ranked demons walked toward the room where Rem was in. One was a male while the other was a female.

The male demon held a red spear that has a crimson mana crystal in the middle of the handle.

The female walked beside him, with her blue bow. On the middle of the bow was an ocean blue mana crystal.

"Greetings to Sir Igor and Miss Jaelyn. M-May I ask what made the two strongest be here?" The second demon asked cautiously, bowing his head as he spoke.

He was sweating buckets.

The first and third demons bowed respectfully at the two high-ranked demons.

They were sweating anxiously as well.

"Inspection." The female demon, Jaelyn, answered coldly.

Her facial expressions were as unmoving as ever.

She seems to have the "don't approach me" kind of aura around her, which caused the atmosphere to be icy.

"Why are you guys so nosey? Know your place. Now, get out of my sight!" The male demon, Ignor, yelled, pointing his spear at the three lower-ranked demons.

The three demons immediately scattered away, leaving quickly before they get decapitated or killed mercilessly.

"They acted suspiciously," Jaelyn said aloud.

"What do you mean? Sis, you're too wary. They're just a few low-ranked demons. Of course, they'll be nervous around us! There's no need to worry!~" Igor said nonchalantly.

They walked to the room they needed to inspect without speaking another word.

The moment the door opened, Rem combined her ice, fire, and shadow magic.

The fire melted the ice, making the air foggy. Rem's shadow magic caused the fog to turn black. This made one either completely not see their surroundings or make it harder for them to see.

It was almost like being in a misty forest, except the fog is dark.

Ignor didn't see this coming. He was confused about what was going on.

On the other hand, Jaelyn was prepared and on guard. She knew something was suspicious. Her intuitions were correct.

"Stop standing around like a lost dog! There could be more than one intruder, so be careful." Jaelyn yelled, chasing the black figure.

"Huh? Oh, uh... Yeah, okay!" Ignor snapped back to his senses and followed Jaelyn from behind.

...

'I left through that opened window right after I cast the magic! How are they keeping up with my speed...? Fudge, this isn't good! I have to lose them somehow...!!!'

Rem dashed towards the Dark Forest at full speed.

"Hey, sis. Sis!!!" Ignor called.

"We need to follow that black figure. They're just as fast as us. No, they might be even faster than us. That means that they're strong. They would be a threat to us if we don't get rid of them." Jaelyn said, ignoring her brother's calls.

"Stop for a moment. I said STOP!!!!!" Ignor roared.

His roar made the ground shake slightly.

Jaelyn stopped and glared at her brother.

"What?" She asked, clearly annoyed.

"If they're so strong, why don't we test it out? Didn't they go inside that forest? We can simply burn the whole forest down instead of following them. It saves us time and effort. Plus, they won't have anywhere to hide." Ignor explained.

"If you didn't stop me, we could've followed them to their base. Burning the forest down and killing them won't solve the fact that we don't know whether or not that black figure is working alone or with others!" Jaelyn refuted.

"I guess it's too late now. Go ahead, Do what you want." Jaelyn sighed, letting her brother do what he want.

Ignor smiled devilishly and flew high up into the sky, towards the middle of the forest.

He didn't want to miss even a speck of the forest.

Jaelyn followed her brother, watching him carefully.

At the same time, Rem was in the middle of the Dark Forest.

She's currently casting as many spells as she could cast.

'Done! Phew, finally...! Now, I just have to wait. I hope this works. If they manage to escape this, I'm dead! After activating this, I'll probably use up all my mana anyway, but I'll think of a solution later.' Rem thought anxiously.

She made the humongous magic circles invisible. Creating the magic circles cost her a fourth of the mana she has.

'I need to shift into my monster form. That way, I can get twice as much mana as the mana I have right now. Then, I need to activate the magic circles the moment they're within the magic circles.' Rem went over her plans in her head.

As usual, Rem was on high guard. She also hid her presence. The only difference was, that she made herself invisible this time.

Before, she didn't make herself invisible because invisibility takes up quite a lot of mana, and she wanted the two high-ranked demons to see her.

Luring them here was only the first step.

...

The two high-ranked demons arrived in the middle of the forest.

Before Ignor could destroy the forest, Rem shifted into her monster form.

She then activated her magic circles.

"Ignor!—" Jaelyn pushed her little brother with as much force as she could.

Ignor didn't know what was going on.

In a mere second, an enormous pillar of black flames blasted into the sky. Everything that was in its way perished into nothing.

Activating the magic circles caused Rem to use up more mana than she anticipated.

'This isn't good...!' Rem coughed up blood.

Soon enough, the black pillar disappeared, as if nothing happened. It only left a huge circle on the ground, the size of the magic circles Rem made.

Realizing what had just happened, Ignor clenched his fists. His left arm was burned.

Ignor's sister, Jaelyn, was burned to death alive, right in front of his eyes. Not even her ashes remained.

"HOW DARE YOUUUU!!!!!!!!!" Ignor growled, clearly enraged.

He began to burn down the forest by shooting large orbs of orange flames everywhere, tears streaming down his cheeks.

'D*mmit! One of them survived...' Rem cursed, limping towards Aria City.

'I... Need to... Get out of here...!'

Everything around Rem was covered in flames.

Rem's last resort was to teleport out of here.

She can't access her inventory due to the system abandoning her. She had to do everything she could to teleport away, or else she would burn to death.

'Teleport! Let me teleport out of here...' Rem said in her head, collapsing to the ground.

In the end, she couldn't teleport out of the burning forest.

Black shadows engulfed Rem's unconscious body.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
JUnknownC JUnknownC

My body is so problematic these two months.

First, my ears keep on making ringing/beeping noises.

Then, I got sick (I still am), sneezing constantly with a lot of snot. When I try to read, my left eye makes it so the words are burry/cloudy up close or afar. It kinda makes me dizzy as well.

Now today, for the whole day (and right now), I feel lightheaded and nauseous.

I still feel like crap and I don't know what the causes are.

What should I do to make myself feel better?
