Chapter 2: Moving

Lexi got soo annoyed with how Christopher seemed to be possessed over the dancing group they saw that one day during summer vacation. Her annoyance did not allow her to notice that it was not the dancing group in general, but the emerald dancing beauty, he could not get enough of. Lexi had told him the name of the dancing group. There was not much about them on the internet. One thing that caught his eye though was how it was the beauty and the male dancer next to her that had defeated him and Lexi at a completion a year ago. He had to go over the picture a few times to realize it was her, since she looked completely different, only her eyes, her emerald eyes, and her captivating smile. 'Only if that guy didn't show up I could have gotten her name and possibly her number', Christopher was frustrated that the chance slipped right through his hands. He had asked Lexi for more information regarding the dancing group, but she said that the man she spoke to gave her general answers, like when she asked, "Where do you live?" The man simply replied in the next town over, not the name of the town or in which direction. How he hoped she would have performed again before school began, but that hope was lost as school began the following week.

*******************************

Mark and Gabriella had arrived home in time for dinner that day. They were surprised to see both of their parents at the dining room table. After dinner though, not only were they surprised, but dumbfounded by what their parents just told them. Having no other family close by, they had to all move to another city where Gabriela's dad's new office would be. He had gotten promoted, but the promotion will cause them all to move. Her dad and mom had discussed what to do quite a bit before telling them. Her parents explained that they would be moving by the end of summer so she would be able to start her senior year in her new school. No one liked the idea of leaving the home that they had lived in for soo long, but there was no way around it. Mark had got employed for a company that was a few hours away and there was no one Gabriela could stay with either. Gabriella did try to convince her parents to let her stay since she was in her last year of high school. But they were worried about her since she keeps to herself and didn't have any friends. They explained that they wouldn't know what to do if she were to faint or something happened to her when they were far apart. Gabriella could only sigh in defeat. She knew her parents had a point and now wished she had stepped out of her comfort zone to make a few friends. Who knew that having friends or not would have decided her outcome.
