Chapter 10: So many gifts
Adam looked over the Tengu tribe in amazement. He did not know how, but the giant kitty had gifted him a whole score of mob creatures to command.
This could be an original gameplay style for this game. If he was reading this correctly, players could create monster factions inside the game, not just guilds. He was already planning on setting up communication channels between the different villages and cities in his monster empire.
Irulan had to wake him up from his reverie by placing a paw on top of his head.
"What?" Adam asked.
"You eyes started going all round and glazed over. It was like when I told you about the mystic energies the first time. Are you all right?" she asked.
"Yes. I just got carried away for a moment. Can you tell them to get back to their normal activities? Also, I will need one of them to be my guide. Do any of them speaks English?" Adam answered.
Irulan did not bother to answer. She turned to the Tengu and started her guttural choking sounds once more. After a couple of minutes, the whole tribe got back on its feet and walked back to the village.
Only two of the Tengu stayed back, the biggest one who seemed to be in charge and another one who had a darker skin tone. If the rest of the tribe were the color of an old iguana, this one was a deep dark brown, almost like fresh mud.
Adam saw the bigger of the two pushing the other one forward, bringing it to his side.
"Hello to Savior" It said while bending at the waist. "Savior need someone to walk with, for not get lost. Me is called Yorki. I will walk with Savior".
"Hi Yorki. It's nice to meet you" Adam answered. "Can you show me the village? I want to understand how you guys live to see if we can improve anything".
"What is improobe?" Yorki asked with a frown.
"Don't worry. I just want to see what I can do to help" answered Adam.
Yorki's eyes shone with genuine delight. For him, this human must be powerful to be able to control the giant demon beast. It was known this specific beast was enough to annihilate the entire population with impunity.
"Savior truly great!! You can finds more food for village" it said in excitement.
Adam has already started to note all the things he remembered of tribal people in historical documentaries. He needed to figure out what changes he could implement to improve living conditions quickly. He had to assume the Tengu sent out hunting parties because he had not seen any fields or any other proof of agriculture around the town.
His thoughts were interrupted by Irulan's paw setting on his head for the second time on the day. "Little human, I am leaving. I have spent too much time playing with you already. I grow hungry and would need to snack on your new pets if I stay with you much longer".
Adam was not surprised. He knew Irulan was a Miniboss for the first stage of the game. He had somehow triggered one unique gameplay, and the AI had provided additional help. However, it had to go back for other players to be able to have the same experience. He assumed that if anyone had spawned in the same area while Irlunan was with him, they would have remained stuck until the cat returned.
"When are you leaving?" he asked.
"Now. I wanted to remind you before I go that there are human cities not too far away from here. I think 3 to 4 months for your small legs, if you follow the mountains in the back of this village". He started
"Once you get to a big city, the best is to find a mystic master that can teach you the human ways. None of the beasts will be able to help you. We are different."
"Thanks so much. I am in your debt for all you have done to help" Adam answered while joining his hands and bowing his head.
"I also want to give you one last gift, little human" Irulan said. Then she proceeded to vomit a small shinning blue cristal.
