Chapter 6: Exposition
Then Garp left them with Bogart and went to god knows where probably to eat rice crackers somewhere.
"What is Rokushiki and Haki?" Ann Asked Bogart.
Then Bogart started explaining them in detail, "Rokushiki( Six Powers) is a special ,superhuman martial art. It is the secret art created by the world government and mainly used by Cipher pol. But almost every Rear Admiral or above marine can use it. There are six techniques in it.
Well explaining it alone won't be enough so i will also demonstrate it for you.
"The first is Soru." He said, Then he vanished from where he was standing and reappeared at some distance. While the girls couldn't follow him Luffy easily followed him. Because his eyes have already gotten used to high speed because of the use of Gear second.
"It allows you to move at extremely fast speed and can be used to dodge incoming attacks or attack with great power. To achieve this you will have to be able to kick off the ground at least ten times in a blink of an eye. The more time you can kick off the ground or the lesser time you take will make you that much faster."
"Second is called Geppo." Saying that he started to jump in the air. The girls had stars in their eyes after seeing that.
"To do this you have to kick off the air with enough speed and power." Said Bogart.
'Even though the government says that these techniques belong to them. The truth is anyone with enough strength can do it. Like many pirates have been shown using them.' Luffy thought to himself
"Third is Rankyaku." He swung his leg then a blue like looking arc was sent from there it destroyed many trees.before dissipating.
"For this you have to kick at very high speeds and strength, sending out a sharp compressed air blade." He explained to them.
'It can actually be done by any long part of the body If enough power and speed is used. They can also do it with a blade which is actually much better than it.'
Fourth is Tekkai. Then He asked Luffy to Hit Him. Luffy did it with a great amount of force and Bogart almost got his wind knocked out of him. He Wasn't expecting for Luffy to be this strong So he didn't fully use it. The girls just Laughed at him.
After composing himself he continued "This technique hardens the muscle to the level of Iron and can take high levels of damage. However as you just saw it can be broken with enough force."
"However you have to stand still to use this. Very few people can use this while Moving which needs much much more mastery." He further told them.
Fifth is Shigan. Then he jabbed his finger in a tree and his finger went inside it.
For this you have to push your finger into a certain target at a very high speed like a bullet.
And Last one is Kami-e. Then he again asked to attack him, when Luffy attacked him his body bent in an unusual way to avoid the attacks.
"It makes the users' body extraordinarily flexible in order to avoid any attacks, float, and bend their body like a piece of paper.
These are the six techniques of Rokushiki."
The girls eyes were filled with excitement to hear they would learn all these techniques.
'Well there is actually one more secret technique which he didn't tell us, Rokugan In which they use as a shock-wave attack which is similar to Impact or Reject dial and it can damage internals of a body. He also didn't tell us about the advanced version of Kami-e, Life return In which shape of body can be altered for different purposes like bulking it up for more power or making it lean for more speed and agility. It can also be used to make your body slime like.' Thought Luffy to himself.
Then Bogart continued "Now, Let's talk about Haki."
"While Rokushiki depends upon your body strength, Haki depends upon your Will power. There are three types of Haki.
First is Observation Haki. He again asked Luffy to attack him. Luffy did and he dodged them with telling them which attack Luffy is gonna use in advance.
"Can you predict future Sensei?" Makino asked.
"No, but everyone emits a sound and when they attack by hearing that you can dodge it." Bogart answered.
'Well that was the most basic explanation about Haki but it can't really explain the things they do with it later in the story like seeing into the future or things like that as I mean Katakuri can see the attacks coming when the person hasn't even thought of that attack yet.
"So we can dodge any attack with it." Ann asked Excited
"No you can't, like if the speed of attack is too fast and your body can't react in time even if you see the attack coming you won't be able to dodge it. Or if there are more than one person attacking." He told them as a warning.
"Second is Armament Haki. By which you can Make a armor on you to either protect or attack.The best thing about this is that you can attack any fruit user with this even the logia user and hurt them. He showed them by coating his hand in Haki which turned black.
"Third is conqueror's Haki. And while the other two can be awakened by training this one is awakened by a person's own willpower. That's why everyone says that you have to be born with it. As for uses as far as I know it is it can bend the will of the person who is much weaker than you. So basically it is a power to subjugate a cannon fodder army. But pretty useless in a fight between people who have the same level of strength."
"This conqueror Haki seems mostly Useless." Said Ann.
"Well yeah it seems that way but it still is pretty convenient and like in a situation where you have to fight a strong person and he has like fifty thousand men with him." He told her.
'Well it is kinda useless compared to how much it was made out to be in the Marineford war. Everyone was slake jawed like they were something they haven't seen before Even Whitebeard and Admirals. When there were many other people present who could use it like Mihawk, Donflamingo, Hancock etc.
After that they started to train according to the instruction Bogart Was giving them and few days went training like that. Until the day of Luffy's birthday.
These days they were told many other things.
Like about World Government. It was the organization which basically ran the world on the were Five great elders. Below them were world nobles who were called celestial dragons. They were descendants of the founding Families after the Void century. But they didn't take any active part in running the world. The five great elders looked over everything happening in the world. There were two major parts in the world government , Marine and cipher pol. Cipher Pol was mostly a covert unit of world government. That was all he told them. But Luffy already knew a lot about them. Like It did jobs like gathering intel, off the book operation, or assassination. It has ten branches Cp0 to Cp9. Cp0 was the strongest branch which usually protected the Celestial dragon.The Cp1 to Cp9 didn't describe their power level. As Cp5 and Cp6 agent the original crew fought on the train to Enies lobby which was nothing more than cannon fodder. And the Cp9 unit specializes in assassination.
Then there is the marine which everybody knew. He told many things about marine about the posts and who were who.
Apart from them, the Yonko and Shichibukai, which they Already knew as newspapers, do come in east blue. How Luffy's crew knew nothing about the world is a mystery.
Apart from that He told them about The underworld which even he didn't know much about as no member used their real name in organization. It was the most elusive organization of the World. Well Luffy already knew much more about it than Bogart from watching the show. They sold everything in the underworld like illegal arms, slaves, devil fruit, Adam wood, Dance powder etc and they had deals with everyone like Shichibukai, Yonko, Cipher Pol, Marine, Kingdoms, rebellion armies in kingdoms etc.
And the revolutionary Army which was trying to overthrow the government and their leader Revolutionary Dragon.
On his birthday Garp told them to take rest. On which He got very sexy early morning Sex with Ann. Well it was nothing new. After that the whole day was spent leisurely. Well there wasn't much to do in this world. There was no entertainment, no sports or anything. Then they had a party in the evening with the whole Dadan family.
After all that he took Ann and Makino to Makino's for their night together.
