Chapter 4: Volume I chapter Four The Search
The group ventured the blood covered hallways, the body filled rooms tugged and twisted at Ava's gut as she could feel the vomit explode out of her stomach and reach her taste buds, she quickly forced it back down and coughed from her burning throat. Jack looked back at the two women as his eyes locked onto Ava's figure and body structure but quickly realized that she looked away from him with a red face, a smirk spread across his face as he continued to look forward "Ahead is a T crossing of hallways, we will need to take a right lady's and the room should be right in front of us" he stated enthusiastically. Athena seemed oddly quiet as Ava responded saying they both understood, Athena just couldn't shake off this odd feeling of them being watched but she assumed her nerves were shot since she was just thrown into this world of chaos
Soon enough they had turned the corner but both girls could feel a arm slap into their chest stopping them from venturing forwards, Ava was already observing why but Athena took a couple second to look as she pushed his hand and arm off of her chest, as she did her eyes would widened. A long haired man was leaning against the wall with a screen illuminating off of his hand, no electronic device was in sight although. Just a screen floating in the air, his hair was brown and placed in a ponytail but even then his hair reached his shoulders as he wore a cloak. His skin was pale and as he looked towards them his brown eyes struck into each of them like Daggers "Ah I was expecting you" the man stated in a silky smooth voice as he waved the screen towards them "Cameras, been watching you since you left the introduction rooms". Jack growled under his breath his hands tightening into fists, Ava and Athena could already feel the heat radiating off of Jack as they each made their distance away. Jack would pull up the sleeves on his jacket to reveal burn scars running all the way up to his elbows, his skin quickly turned red over the scars as his skin seemed to bubble a bit before lowering back to normal. He seemed to be gaining burns at a heavy rate, and the hallway quickly turned into that of a oven. Sweat dripped from the other mans face but he just chuckled
"So you control heat? That's nice. We will have to take care of you first" and with a flick of his finger copper wiring was ripped from the walls and wrapped around Jack forming a large copper colored ball around him enclosing him from everyone else "Don't even attempt to heat up the metal to get out, you'll just cook yourself alive and cause the burning metal to drip on you. I've heard it's quite painful-" A projectile caught the man's attention as a wall of thin metal rose up in front of him only for the projectile to slice straight through it and grind against his leg,his face went from one of being cocky to one of astonishment. looking at the blood splatter on the ground and at the projectile behind him embedded in the wall "That's...Thats bone!! How! HOW '' The man screamed out in rage as the metal wall was thrown against the ground to look at the two females. Ava smirked as blood dripped down her arm from the blade ripping out of her skin "I ate Crawfish before I came here bitch", and with that her teeth grinded together as blood burst out of her skin from her fingers and all over her arms. The apparent Technopath in front of them roared in rage as his eyes flashed blue and the hallway shook, Lockers where ripped from walls and flung through the air around the Technopath, Other metals used as support for the school's entire structure was ripped out causing the building to be very unstable "The school will collapse but those introduction rooms won't, so hey don't care if I destroy this school" he said chuckling.
Ava gritted her teeth more as she raised her hand and a blade tore out of her skin shooting towards the man in question, the man didn't budge though as lockers slammed against the blade bouncing it off "Harder and thicker metal means you can't hurt me, Bitch" he stated holding his bleeding leg as his face had been contorted into one of complete anger. A scream erupted from his throat as the lockers shifted and changed into sharp pieces of metal that were then thrown Athena and Ava's direction, if not for Ava sprouting blades off her chest as shields then they would have been hit. Well Athena wasn't anyway as the soft sound of blood splattering onto the ground filled her ears, Ava coughed hard as she touched her gut which had a piece of metal Protruding from it.
Ava growled and proceeded to wrap her hand around the spike to yank it out before a soft hand touched her own "Dont pull it out yet, it'll just make you bleed worse" Athena's voice echoed in her ears
Ava groaned in pain as her eyes felt heavy "G...God w-why did I h..have to f..feel this way t-towards you" She gasped as the words came out, every breath hurt and it hurt even worse to move or speak. Athena on the other hand seemed to be breaking down, her eyes were widened as blood covered her hands. Her mind was being torn, she hadn't even known Ava that long but yet Ava protected her. Something snapped inside of her as she turned towards the Technopath, a scream erupting from her throat. And with that the walls shook and the building felt as if it was being torn apart as large spikes shot out of the walls towards the man, he would raise his hands to apparently try to control the spikes but to his surprise they weren't metal. Blood hit the ground as the spikes pierced straight through him and he collapsed in his own blood, the metal that was floating in the air collapsed and the ball that encased Jack fell apart. Although he didn't come back to a warm welcome as he saw Athena collapse unconscious next to a bleeding out Ava
He didn't know what to do, he thought Ava could handle the Technopath but he was obviously mistaken. But he didn't have his guard up as he had already seen the bloody fate dealt to the man "Who?.." Jack himself was stunned, Ava hadn't done this and Athena was powerless in this world so how?. Jack rushed over to the bleeding Ava looking at the large piece of metal protruding from her gut, there was nothing more he could do. He couldn't pull it out and he didn't have a healing power, and so Jack's face contorted to one of pain. He hadn't known her long but he knew from what he heard that she tried to protect Athena and him, he could feel his eyes begin to water as tears dripped down his face and hit her body which he clutched in his arms. Jack didn't have a reason to be emotional about this but death itself was saddening to him, it was just him, a dead man, a wounded women and a unconscious girl alone in this hallway on the brink of collapse
