Chapter 52: Prelude to the Land of Snow Finale
"You see onee-sama, it's like this . . ."
And so, Fubuki explained to her sister, the outline of the deal Shiki had decided upon. She was so effective in her talks, that his direct intervention was not even necessary and soon, Tatsumaki was onboard the Shiki train as well. All Shiki had to do, was hash out a couple of details with her.
His last minute decision to use the village as a test for the two leaders per village, one in the light and one in the shadows was a truly good one. Tatsumaki was adamant on the fact that she didn't want the village to become a part of a criminal organization, she didn't want that kind of reputation for her beloved Yukigakure.
Shiki called her out on this, since they were currently working for a maniac who commits all sorts of crimes against humanity but she replied saying that it was the only option to ensure the village's survival but now that there are better options, she wants to clear Yukigakure's name.
Thankfully, this didn't conflict with Shiki's plans. Tatsumaki would continue as the leader in the light and cooperate with the soon to be new Daimyo, Koyuki and usher in a new era of justice and prosperity for her village.
Meanwhile, the more problematic members of the village would be gathered by Fubuki into an underground community affiliated with Mugetsu. When Shiki set out and created his own light side hidden village that would stand opposite of Mugetsu, Tatsumaki would then support his efforts.
After she had bound a Soul Contract with Shiki, all this was revealed to her making her wonder what kind of madman she had just sold herself and her village to.
Once she got the same tour as Fubuki, leading to further displeasure from Guren and Chino since Shiki had brought in two beauties in a short period of time, Tatsumaki's tune did a complete 180.
Someone that could grant her the kind of power she was experiencing, construct such a powerful and advanced fortress and have such capable subordinates must be someone with godlike capabilities and so, like her younger sister Fubuki, Tatsumaki became a believer of the Shiki Cult that was founded by Guren and Chino.
Speaking of the Shiki Cult, while Shiki was not paying attention, it actually became a thing with Guren and Chino swiftly converting the still young and impressionable Karin to their beliefs and even drawing Haku into it who joined mostly just for fun.
Zabuza, who had been showing more of his doting father side to Haku after they joined up with Shiki, was not at all happy that his surrogate daughter was joining a veritable cult but alas, there was nothing he could do.
Apparently, the reasons this cult started were to laud the godlike Shiki, all his actions and aspects of his existence which utterly embarrassed him once he found out about it and the second was to prevent the newer women he brought in to get ahead of themselves.
The cringiest part for Shiki was when he found out and Guren along with Chino came to him with pride written all over their faces from their "great achievement" of founding the Shiki Cult . . .
He was embarrassed out of his mind but before the efforts of the girls he could only praise them despite things having taken a weird direction.
Regardless, with Tatsumaki on board and with her assurances she and Fubuki could convince the rest of the village that aligning themselves to Shiki's plan was the best option despite not being able to tell them what most of that plan actually entailed, all he had left to do was take care of things on Doto and Koyuki's side.
Just to be sure though, he had left so strategic resources the sister could use to convince the village and mainly the higher ups that Shiki's way was indeed the best way for Yukigakure.
As all of this took place, Nadare had nearly reached Doto's location and was about to deliver his report. Shiki's delaying actions bought just enough time to make all the necessary preparations on the Yukigakure side and the Land of Snow arc was nearing its awaited end.
The ship Shiki, Team 7, Koyuki , Sandayu and the film crew were travelling in was floating in a hidden cove in the Land of Snow as Shiki, as himself, addressed Team 7 and the Princess.
"Things on the side of Yukigakure are settled and Nadare and Mizore are currently nearing Doto's position so get ready."
This prompted a question from the Kakashi though, it seemed he was always the one with the questions since Koyuki and Sandayu were not very familiar with the capabilities of shinobi and the Konoha trio knew better than to question Shiki's capabilities.
It was a fair question though. In the current time, although short to medium distance radio equipment existed, long range communications were still done through messenger birds.
"It a special communication device that uses fuinjutsu to work!" Shiki answered.
'That's a lie though! I can and have indeed made such communication devices and I'm preparing to sell them but I need no such thing to communicate with my soul clones.'
'Still, I can't wait for the communicators to hit the market. They're way to convenient not to use so they'll become the norm for communications soon enough afterwards.'
'Then the villages will have to adopt them too because instantaneous communication provides a massive strategic advantage. What they are unaware of, is that I'll then be able to listen in on all of their conversations!'
'Their incompetent fuinjutsu "experts" will evaluate them as safe to use because they're not good enough to notice my hidden arrangements. Hehehehehe.'
If there was something that could be used for any devious purpose, Shiki was probably thinking about implementing it. A lot of the surveillance means he used were simply not necessary but he still implemented them just for the sake of it. Even his backups had backups who turn had even more backups, the very definition of paranoia.
A little while later Shiki noticed that Nadare was soon reaching Doto's office inside his fortress and warned the attack team.
"Alright boys and girls! It's showtime! Get closer and be ready for the teleportation!" He announced.
The members of the assault would be Shiki and Team 7 and Koyuki who wanted to see Doto's end with her own eyes, Sandayu would gather the remaining Sosetsu Loyalist to support the princess during the aftermath so he would not be accompanying them.
Shiki waited for the right moment, Nadare and Mizore had entered the same room as Doto, there were no extra guards at inside at the time and the doors were closed behind the two. Now was time to strike. The two were still under genjutsu so they could be instantly neutralized.
Shiki had even prepared special tags to instantly seal the entire room on arrival so that there could be no interruptions until Tatsumaki and Fubuki had established order among the Yuki.nin that were guarding the fortress.
"Teleportation in: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!"
As soon as the countdown started all the participants of the assault got ready and as soon as it ended they all disappeared in a white flash as opposed to Reaper Shiki's Black flash.
To say Kazahana Doto was surprised when a white flash suddenly appeared in his office, bringing unknown people with it, was a massive understatement.
Taking advantage of the shock, Shiki sealed the room before Doto could attempt to communicate with the people outside by any means and knocked out the Yukigakure duo who had fulfilled their purpose as he greeted the surprised tyrant with his Adamantine Sealing Chains.
This jutsu was without a doubt one of his favourites, good power, great utility and a very manageable chakra cost at least to a capable Uzumaki, much less Shiki. It could kill, restrain, seal, truly wonderful and in such close quarters in a sealed environment, almost impossible to deal with.
The chains formed from incredibly dense sealing chakra were not only capable of piercing almost any physical barrier but were also even more effective at piercing chakra defenses which made Doto's juiced up Chakra Armor's defences pretty much meaningless as he was instantly restrained.
The members of Team 7 were left thinking 'What the hell did we even come here for!?' but Shiki had already warned Tsunade he could handle it all by himself so if they had a problem with how things turned out, they could take it up with her.
At the very least, they got a first row seat at a demonstration of how to get things done by the main man Shiki so they shouldn't be too unhappy, or so the he narcissistically thought.
Kazahana Doto was still trying to figure out what the hell had happened, his brain literally could not keep up with the drastic turn of events.
"Alright Koyuki-nee! Any last words to share with your uncle before I send his ass off to the underworld?" Shiki asked.
