Chapter 44: Business As Usual is Best
'T-that was close! Luckily I managed to substitute with a rock in time and didn't take that terrifying attack with my body. Otherwise, even if I used Rokushiki: Iron Body I would still be gravely injured if not outright dead…' Lucci's attack really frightened Eragon to his core. He never came so close to death since he was reincarnated in this world 'I can also break stones like that one easily, but disintegrating it to fine powder? That would be hard… That blow is probably based on the concept of gathering any physical strength one can muster in one spot and letting it all out in one burst simultaneously, using shockwaves to bypass any defense… truly a frightening strike'
Noticing Lucci kneeling and panting on the ground, he understood such strength didn't come without repercussion. It was either this or Lucci simply didn't master his technique yet. Which made sense since when Lucci fought against Luffy in two years from now, he would still get tired after every time he used his 'Rokushiki: Six King Gun'.
'But I don't recall seeing Lucci like this after he uses his Six King Gun on Luffy… Panting? Yes. But on his knees? Definitely not!'
Wary of any possible traps, Eragon didn't want to take any chances so he throw one of his knives aiming at Lucci's chest, believing he will jump aside to dodge at any moment. He was completely dumbfounded when the knife stuck in his chest as blood spurted immediately and soaked the soil red as he died.

Eragon stood there for a couple of seconds in a daze as he simply couldn't believe the strongest member in the history of CP9 died so easily. If it wasn't for the system notification he would definitely believe this was some sort of diabolical plot 'Did this moron seriously gamble it all on one attack? If he did then he's stupider than I thought...' Finally shrugging his shoulders, Eragon went off to see the pitiable giraffe 'Luckily I still have someone else to interrogate'
Eragon found him struggling to stand up without any success. Kaku had many internal injuries that would take him many months to heal from, not that he would have the chance though…
Two knives to his calves muscles nailed him to the ground, stopping his meaningless struggle to stand.
"Ahhhh"
Hearing the painful bestial roar, Eragon smiled. He paced to stand in front of the giraffe and watched in interest as the Zoan Devil Fruit transformation slowly wore off, revealing the man's original face.
"You have one hell of a cold-hearted boss you know. Using you as a distraction so he could take the chance to finish me off… But I guess that's what you expect from someone who killed over 500 people at age 13" Eragon said in a bland tone as continued "Anyway, would you be so kind to tell me who sent you and why? I can guess the majority of it on my own but I want to be sure, so please don't try to lie to me"
Looking at Eragon's face in concentration for a minute, Kaku finally said hopefully "If I tell you everything I know, will you promise to let me go?"
Eragon immediately replied with an evil smile "Don't be an idiot, you are already dead... The only question now is how much you suffer first hehe"
Following his words, despair immediately clouded Kaku's face as he understood his fate was sealed no matter what.
"So Pinocchio, which is it gonna be, the easy or the hard way?" His voice grew cold as a murderous glint flickered in his eyes, the knife in his hand flashed with the occasional cold glint as he rotated it.
"You can't do this! I'm a secret agent in the World Government, if you kill me, you will be hunted down like a criminal and thrown to jail!" Kaku bellowed.
The only thing he received for his outburst was Eragon's cheekily reply "And how would anyone know I killed you all? Using my abilities, it's very easy to erase every trace of you and your pals ever being here…"
"No..NO!!! Ahhh"
It took a little bit of persuasion but eventually, Kaku spilled the beans.
The story turned out to be pretty much as Ergon speculated. Someone high up the ranks in the World Government took an interest in his devil fruit powers and decided to do some experiments on him, so they sent CP9 to abduct him. But the intelligence they received only stated Eragon Killed in one strike every pirate he came across at East Blue, which gave no real indication of his true battle process. So the entire CP9 was sent to capture him as a precaution.
If CP9 knew Eragon could use Rokushiki after only one week of training, they would definitely understand what kind of monster they were after and request backup. Unfortunately, they had no idea...
Kaku said he wasn't told the identity of the person in the World Government that requested they abduct him, only their Chief Spandam knew such classified information. Kaku only knew it was someone very important, and after a few burned fingers and a very long nose Eragon eventually believed him.
'I guess I need to find Spandam if I want to get answers' His eyes made a chilling ray as Eragon thought about what he would do to the poor man when he catches him. He was completely enraged about the whole thing. Sending assassins after him is still fair game, but Eragon had no Illusions of what they would do to his women after they captured him.
"Sigh"
He finally calmed down after a minute.

Getting everything he wanted to know, Eragon did as he promised and killed Kaku as painlessly as he could. After that, he created a few shadow clones and sent them to clean the battlefield. He didn't want anyone to know CP9 was there that night, so his clones used 'Earth Release' Jutsus to fix the cracked and burned yard, they also stored the dead bodies inside a scroll.
'I get this funny feeling in the back of my head that I forgot something important, I just can't put my finger on what it is… this is driving me nuts!' Watching his shadow clones getting busy, Eragon sank in deep thoughts.
*Boom!*
Suddenly a loud explosion came from the mansion, Eragon immediately left his clones and ran back to see what's going on. When he reached the room he left his 3 lovers protected by the purple barrier, he was shocked to find a slim, pretty blonde woman on the floor unconscious. Next to the bed, Caroline stood with a sword in her hand while Nami had her pink whip, Nojiko on the other hand stayed on the bed and watched everything interestingly. Oh yes, the three of them were also naked…
He quickly dispersed a shadow clone and understood what happened. The last member in the World Government Secret Assassins Organization, CP9, Kalifa, was sent to kill any potential witnesses, his family. She found them inside a strange barrier so she used the ability of her devil fruit Awa Awa no Mi to 'clean' his barrier. But what she did not expect was that two of the 'weak' women turned out to be experienced warriors! Caroline and Nami showed great teamwork as they fought Kalifa evenly until Caroline used the blunt side of her sword to knock her out unconscious.
At first, the shadow clones intended to take care of Kalifa. But Caroline and Nami jumped at the chance to have their first real fight before the clones could do anything. So they let the two women do what they wanted while they followed next to them throughout the battle, ready to intervene at any sign anything goes wrong.
'So this was what kept bugging me! I should have remembered there were 7 members in CP9. Fortunately, it was a woman who was sent to kill my women and as a result saw them naked, otherwise I would have suffered a heavy loss' He reprimanded himself in his mind.
Entering the room with a big smile, Eragon said "Excellent job, I'm so proud of you both! You girls protected yourself from a skilled assassin on your own, it's not something anyone can say"
""Eragon!""
Hearing his voice, the two women immediately ran to his embrace. There were some of Eragon's clones in the room but they always Preferred the original.
"There there, you are safe now" Eragon caressed their head lovingly to calm them down.
"Hey, what about me? Aren't you proud of me?" From the bed came Nojiko's voice as she asked indignantly.
"Hmm? I don't know, did you do anything to make me proud of you?" He asked back.
Caroline and Nami also looked at Nojiko interestingly.
"Of course I did! I wasn't taken hostage as I have been very careful you know! I made sure to stay on the bed and not move…" Nojiko answered while she pouted her lips adorably.
Stunned!
Eragon and the two women next to him were dumbfounded by this level of shamelessness. How much self-centered does a person have to be to answer like that?!
Ultimately, Eragon decided to let it slid "Haha you are absolutely right! I am proud of you too" He went to her and gave her a pat on the head as well. This brought great satisfaction to Nojiko as she felt the soft caress.
Then Eragon took them to another room so that he could explain to them the situation they were in while his clones cleaned the messy room from the battle that took place in it. His clones also took care of Kalifa, earning him another nice sum of experience points. He killed a lot of beautiful women in his previous life as well, and as long as they were his enemies, he had no problem killing anyone.
The thought of keeping her alive might have crossed his mind for a sec but he immediately rejected it. There was no benefits in letting her live, and he already knew everything he needed to know so except for her pretty face and hot body he didn't have any use of her. In fact, leaving her alive will only create problems for him if she managed to escape...
As for raping the beautiful blonde before killing her?
He would you never do such things. He might not consider himself a hero or a good guy, but he still has a moral bottom line he won't cross. Torture for information he needs? sure. But just for the pleasure of it? no!
He's not a psycho after all...
Eragon and the three women sat in a clean room and relaxed before the started talking.
And once Eragon explained everything and they understood their current situation, Nami was the first to speak "Honestly, I am not surprised that something like this has happened to us. The Marines is a corrupt organization, and only very few people within it are good and honest people..."
Looking at Nami's downcast face, Eragon realized she was thinking about her adoptive mother, Bell-mère.
Nojiko probably also realized this as she went to hug Nami.
"She's right, Eragon. It's too dangerous for us to stay here anymore, we must leave at once" Caroline added with a worried face.
"I don't think it's best for us to leave Marineford right now" Eragon said "The only reason they sent assassins in the night is because I'm currently a trainee at the Special Training Camp and they can't publicly pursue after me. If I resign from the Marine, which is something that in itself I'm not sure I can but even if it's possible, then they will simply frame me of some atrocities and declare me as a pirate. In fact, even if I was a marine captain hunting pirates at sea, It's not a far-fetched possibility they can still frame me of something in order to come after me…"
Eragon didn't want to scare them even more than they are currently, but he needed them to understand the situation they were in before they decide on what to do.
"Then what should we do Eragon??" Caroline anxiously asked. All her life she grew up thinking the marines were the good guys who kept peace around the seas, while only some of them are bad apples like Nezumi. But now she understood the rotting has reached very deep, (or high, depending on the way you look at it..) which made her very concerned about their future.
Being exposed to the ugly side of any form of 'Justice' is always an unpleasant experience.
"As I said, I think it would be best if I keep my marine identity for a while longer" Eragon stated and then proceeded to clarify his thought process "I will go back to the Special Training Camp next week and act as if nothing happened. As long as we don't say anything about what happened tonight, I doubt the one who sent CP9 after us will come forward to accuse us of anything as that would implicate him as well"
He paused for a second to let his words sink before he continued "Excluding the shadow clones that would always stay next to you three to protect you, I will also put trap seals and strong barriers around the mansion. The chances someone will attack you during the day is very slim as this is still Marineford after all, so I will sneak out of the Training Camp every night to come here and be with you. So believe me when I say you have nothing to worry about, you will be very safe"
Eragon and his lovers continued to talk to formulate their plan till sunrise came.
They agreed Marineford island was currently the safest place for them to stay, so they would continue to act normally except for a few extra security measures.
During the day after the attack, Eragon and his shadow clones worked hard to remove any hint of thy attack, making sure that if even if someone came to investigate they couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. Afterward, his shadow clones fortified the mansion and basically turned it into an impenetrable fortress while Eragon himself took his three beautiful women on a lovely date around the town.
The next day Eragon returned to the Special Training Camp and moved on with his usual schedule while at night he sneaked outside the camp easily and went to the mansion/fortress. And just like he speculated, no further attack happened and no one came to search for the missing CP9 assassins.
In this manner days passed and turned into weeks until eventually, a month passed.
