Chapter 2: first step of cultivation
adam reached his run down house in just about an hour after he started running . with the help of system map , he navigated and avoided all the beasts on his way beautifully but he was scared shitless by sheer number of them . each red dot symbolized a beast on the map and there were so many of them that adam felt dizzy just looking at the red dots .
anyway he reached his house safely , he didn't own it though as he was just occupying it for free . the forest had no actual name but local people called it the forest of death from the fear of beasts and the death count of people that never come back from it every year . a town was located just a kilometer away from the entrance to the forest and only few people lived there while others left it after the recent beast tide . the houses were small and run down as nobody did the maintenance due to it being a waste of time . the reason was simple because every once in a while beasts came out of the forest to attack and the houses would be their victims anyway . now only some cripples lived here and the only healthy one among them was adam . those people didnt have any choice but to stay here for various reasons and adam couldn't move away either because he wasn't knowledgeable about herbs and the forest where now nobody entered to collect herbs had plenty of the supply . adam would just any herb or plants that looked special besides the one he knew about and sell them in the market of next town everyday . the next town was located more than 20 kilometers away but it was easy distance for adam who had a strong body to cover everyday . well this was the daily life of previous adam who already died due to his careless choice . the adam now was sitting inside his small house and was in thought as he was informed by system that a shop function was unlocked now after he asked system about the cultivation manual . seriously why unlock it now though ? but adam was smiling after looking at the items available for purchase inside the shop .
simply adam could only purchase knowledge from the shop and it would be etched inside his brain completely after successful purchase . ken was smiling because he saw that there was all kinds of knowledge available like cultivation methods , spells , spell formations , pill recipies etc . even the experience of ancient masters and grandmasters of each profession were available . adam was from modern earth and he knew the proverb " knowledge is power " as he experienced the benefits himself by studying through scholarships and successfully getting a job in a multinational company by winning the intense competition for it . after the shop function was unlocked , the duplications changed to system spoints (SP ) and now they could be used for both duplication and shop function .
the starting realm for cultivators in this world was qi refinement realm so adam immediately decided to purchase the manual and start cultivating . adam was told by system that only one cultivation manual was able for purchase in the system shop but it was the most suitable one for adam in existence . so any more doubts that he had were swept away and he purchased the cultivation manual for qi cultivation realm . immediately 1000 SP were deducted from his stock of 10000 SP and only 9000 remained now . a ding sound was heard inside Adam's brain and his head started to hurt due to gush of foreign information that was suddenly transferred inside his brain . the pain was gone after just a few seconds and adam started smiling as he confirmed the new knowledge inside his brain . the language was foreign to him but adam seem to understand everything perfectly for some reason . of course this issue was not inside Adam's mind right now as he was attentively understanding the theory behind the qi refinement realm cultivation manual with all his focus on it .
after just five minutes adam understood everything and sat cross legged. he closed his eyes and tried to sense the spiritual energy inside the air with his senses . after twenty or minutes passed adam was starting to get impatient as any normal earthling would find it difficult to retain the same pose for so long . beads of sweat started appearing on his forehead from all that focus . fortunately just when adam was going to give up , he felt tingling sensation on his body hairs and sensed the gentle energy around him that was completely invisible . Ken's brows relaxed as he knew that this was the spiritual energy as he could feel the power when he tried to attract the energy towards his body using his mental power . adam had excellent physique for cultivation so just when the foreign energy came into contact with his body , it was effortlessly absorbed through the pores that one would need a microscope to see . adam then guided the spiritual energy inside his body according to the pathway described in the cultivation method and he surprisingly succeeded on his first try . but he couldn't relax now as the spiritual energy was gathering around him at a very fast pace and he quickly had to compete the cycle to absorb more . adam's mental power was just minuscule right now so he didnt know that a small light yellow cloud vortex was rotating around his body right now . it was of course the spiritual energy that was quickly getting attracted towards adam due to his blessed physique that resonated with the energy easily . so the same pattern started as adam would absorb the energy , guide it the right way , the energy would slowly be absorbed his cells and again it was turn to absorb the energy ...
