Chapter 12: BLOOD BANK

*YUKI'S POV*

"YUKI, YOUR KATANA HAS BEEN CLEANED!" I heard Shun from the hallway. He might've wondered what took me so long from following him to the dungeons.

"KATANA?? What are you going to do with that?" My uncle asked but I chose to ignore his question.

"Zen, please keep an eye on my Dad. We'll talk more about this once he's awake. I also have a lot to ask." I requested while my eyes still focused to my sleeping Father.

"Of course!" He answered almost immediately as he bowed down. Now that I know our relation, seeing him submit to me puts me in an uncomfortable place.

"Please don't be inconvenienced with my actions! I may be your elder but you are still my superior in terms of strength and rank. So allow me to show my respect... Ōjo" He insisted.

"I will have no complaints then. Now, I have to go. I'll leave Dad to you." I ordered him as I walk towards where Shun is standing.

"Ww... wait Ōjo!... WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH THAT MAN?" Zen inquired, not letting go of the issue. Curiosity and anxiety was displayed in his eyes.

"Aren't you going to wait for Riku to wake up and give you.. uhmm... an advice of some sort?... Isn't that why you looked for him in the first place?" He added. I did not expect him to be this way. Zen always looked composed and calm when he's with my dad.

"Yes and No". I simply replied. I do not intend to lengthen our conversation but I definitely understand where he's coming from.

"I'll have Mark inform you once I'm done. Wait for me in the meeting room by then... and bring Dad if he's already up." I finished and disappeared from his sight - not giving him time to respond.

Like a passing wind, I ignored Shunsuke - pretending not to see him while we were on our way to the prisoner. I WANTED TO AVOID DISCUSSING WHAT HAPPENED BACK THERE.

"You know that doesn't work against me, right?" He said as he grabbed my arms and forced my body to turn around and face him. He pulled me closer until our eyes met.

"I won't ask any questions Yuki. I just don't want to see you looking troubled."

"You probably know it already Shun, even without me saying it out loud."

"I will not assume. Whatever happened there, I know you had your reasons. NICE SMASHING BY THE WAY!" He commented and giggled.

I really can't have a serious talk with this Guy.. but thanks to him, I felt more relaxed and collected.

His left hand freed my arm and massaged the area where a mark might've formed. After, he moved to my head and patted it gently. We stayed in that position without saying anything... only breathing in the air enclosed with our almost touching bodies.

Then, like a natural and casual thing to do... he kissed my forehead. I was caught off guard but still managed to display my poker face.

"Let's go" he said breaking the silence.

I am confused on why he did what he did but even though I wanted to confront him, I stayed focused on my goal - TO PUSH THROUGH ADRIAN COBALT'S PUNISHMENT. After what seemed to be an eternity of akwardness, we finally arrived.

"After you." he said as he opened the door separating me from the dungeon.

A strong smell of fear and desperation lingered within the walls of the cells. Acknowledged by the men in front of me, I saw Cobalt in the corner, curled up to his knees. He looked clean - wearing a plain gray shirt and black joggers. He remained silent.

"Give me the sword." I commanded Mark as I extend my left hand to receive it.

"Bring him forward."

To my surprise, Cobalt stood up suddenly then slammed his back on the wall, trembling. He might be thinking of a way to break free from this room, and from me. THE CHANCES ARE ZERO.

"Let me a... ask you TEN.. NO FIVE WILL DO.. Let me ask you five questions before I die!" He exclaimed all of a sudden.

Is he going to hunt me in my sleep? What's the purpose of asking when death is looming over him. Is he buying himself time? What could he be thinking right now? Nevertheless...

"Well, I believe that won't be a problem." I answered after pondering.

LET ME GRANT HIS FINAL WISH.

"Go ahead." I said allowing him to start.

"You should answer all my questions with only the truth okay?" Cobalt pleaded.

"That's what I plan to do." I replied.

"What are you?

-"Half vampire"

"How are you related to Sir Riku Yamashita?"

-"He is my Father." Did he just call my Dad, SIR?

"Where were you on December 28, two years ago?"

"WAIT, WHAT ARE YOU HOPING TO GET ASKING THAT FROM ME?"

""PLEASE.. PLEASE JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION... I'M A DEAD MAN ANYWAYS. "

"Ōjo, you don't need to listen to him!" Shun interrupts.

"It's okay." I responded as I gesture him to back away.

-"If my memory serves me right, I was at the Mason' s Mansion for their son's birthday."

"Were you able to meet the son of that house?

-"No."

"What's your full name?"

-"Jean Yuki Yamashita"

I answered all his queries without batting an eye.. but Cobalt slumped from where he was, then he pulled his hair intentionally.

"PLEASE FORGIVE ME! - he cried.

"Forget my bashful remarks. You are special, remember that. I.. I AM AN IDIOT!" He said as though in attempt to compensate his wrong doings.

His eyes showed an expression of longing and sorrow.

"I do not deserve an easy death so I have a proposal". He stated confidently. TEARS ARE STILL FLOWING FROM HIS EYES but his hands stopped shaking and the cowardly Adrian Cobalt was long gone.

I have not uttered a single word as I'm left speechless with the change of his attitude.

"PROPOSAL?? I THINK YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND YOUR SITUATION RIGHT NOW, MR. COBALT!

YOU ARE NOT IN THE POSITION TO HAVE A DEAL WITH US!" Shun bursted. He has a point in saying all that, but he is acting really strange. Normally he will just stay quiet and allow me to make my decision.

I glanced over to his direction and he instinctively stepped back. I then returned my gaze to Cobalt who is now kneeling on the cold floor.

"SATISFY YOUR THIRST WITH ME. I will serve you until you deem me of no use anymore."
