Chapter 7: Our Beloved Deity

One has said, that a moment will only last a minute, an hour, a day, and even linger for years. No matter the emotions we have felt, these moments turn into memories that we cannot do anything about except to reminisce.

There was a foreign feeling of something that you had kept in for so long only for it to bottle up one day, and hit you with an unexpected familiarity.

So Eun had no idea, but the feeling was overwhelming, his heart ached deeply that he desperately wanted to know the truth. So Eun remained still for a while and quivered, gripping his chest with his sweaty palm.

He already undergoes a sort of vulnerable state by being a god on his first day. At this point, it isn't difficult to doubt his core as an immortal. Nonetheless, before anything, he should have attended the ceremony of the Emperor, that may be the thought why he's unstable and weak. So Eun couldn't do anything and emitted a tired sigh.

"I can't relive the time but the Emperor can revive me. Just, how?"

Disappointed and exasperated. He looked down and fiddled with his white sleeves.

Looking at his state right now, alone and still ignorant of the world, he was pretty convinced that his third life will come in an instant.

But no longer than an hour passed by, and he still hasn't recovered from the heartache. Suddenly, a rowdy voice came in from a distance. Not just one, but a boisterous bunch of people was heard near the entrance of the Tipolo Mountain.

So Eun recalled, he was about to return to his respective Palace in Tipolo but was hauled in by a particular being, it could be Nan Yang or the raven butterfly. He leaned his head and listened for a while. Did they sound like crowded persons performing in the streets?

He supposed he had to check it out for himself. As he moved a single inch, he waited patiently for another wave of pain to attack, yet when he moved again, it was like the agony of his suffering had been washed away.

He let out a deep breath before pursuing the lads that executed a sort of street ritual. So Eun couldn't listen properly when he was literally at a peak of a mountain. Misfortune might have put a liking on him on his first day when he stumbled upon a twitch on his way back down the hill. Walking or running wasn't much faster than rolling his way to the very bottom.

This... Is truly a ludicrous scene. He didn't know what to think at the moment as he twirled, tossed, and finally caught the flat soil of dirt and bushes.

His mind went into a bundle of dizziness. The rambunctious cheering and applause of the people did nothing but make him lightheaded.

"Ladies and gentlemen! We finally have a Deity to defend us from evil! Tipolo Town will strive again!" One of them announced from the top of his lungs, the crowd clapped back.

"Wait! Can you sense that? That is a powerful spiritual aura! I can sense it from the entrance of the town! It feels like we are very near to our Deity."

"Oh, Right! I can feel it too! But we all know our Deity wouldn't just wander on his own without fulfilling a traditional ceremony, this must be the blessing that our God is truly a gift reborn from our Town! I feel so proud."

"I can't wait to see him! We should all be enthusiastic when we're doing the parade. It doesn't matter even if we do this starting from here to the Tipolo Palace, I might willingly perform every year!"

So Eun was speechless, he had just suffered a heartache where it comes to the point that it almost took the light out of him. And the scenario afterward made him feel like he needed to forcibly puke.

After he questioned his life decisions, and almost cursed himself for being naive and irresponsible, he successfully stood up on his own and clutched his head, while trying to whisk away the headache.

On the other side of him, the other party suddenly went silent. He wasn't completely seen amid trees and tall bushes separating them, but he could observe the people were engulfed with silence. He got confused and decided to take a peak, then a single voice shouted. So Eun knew the one who was announcing something was talking in the front of the parade, thus, he couldn't quite hear him.

"Uhm... I received a message from the Lady Royale, we shouldn't begin marching if the ceremony hasn't ended yet."

So Eun quietly stepped through the tall bushes and made his way near to the one talking in front.

"It's been an hour since our Deity descended, of course, the ceremony had already been finished at this time!" Another voice of a man erupted at the back that came along with rough voices who agreed with him.

"That is the problem. The ceremony hasn't even started yet." The one in front seemed to be in a crisis, his tone of voice gradually going small as he recited the last words, So Eun felt sorry for them.

"What do you mean?!" The performers clarified it by sending numerous complaints and questions at the same time, So Eun couldn't understand any of them. Then face-palming while reminding himself of these very basic traditional customs.

The leader, So Eun thought he was likely the leader because of the way his voice added a tone of authority, went quiet, letting the crowd as many spoke at the same time.

"Is that even possible? Why it hasn't started yet?"

"Our Deity must go first to the Emperor's Palace, right?"

"He couldn't have been wandering off as you said."

"Well, you can't blame me. His Majesty hasn't arrived yet." So Eun said, careful not to get close. He did know what happened when he was a few meters away from them, what more if he accidentally went out of the woods and bumped into one of them?

The people of Yang-ir had easily identified him as a Deity, appearing with his abundant spiritual energy and the glowing state that mere mortals couldn't simply possess.

"I must head back first." He avoided the evergreen trees that lead to the exit and made his way back to the open and breathable area. Now, there was one thing he needed to figure out.

He began to contemplate what hand gesture would make his spiritual sword appear, then proceeded to mindlessly form hand gestures.

"Oh?"

Did he accidentally unleash it earlier with his anxious state? When facing an enemy?

So Eun frowned, slightly tilting his head in confusion, when his palm unexpectedly blasts a spiritual aura, beneath the mist of that snow-white energy, all of a sudden, there appeared the sword in his hand.

CREATORS' THOUGHTS

The reason why I couldn't upload everyday because I am very careful about my craft, I do not want to urge the story and progress everyday that could lead to messing up the whole process. I care about my characters for my first novel. So I apologize for that if I always took long to write, I am brainstorming of what's to come, making sure not to disappoint the readers. I am merely here to tell a story, and to earn on the sideways (i also have to live), but that's my overall purpose.
