Chapter 31: Chapter 31
Todoroki released a stream of fire straight towards Stain. Seeing this, Stain immediately dodged by jumping to the left. The fire passed him as he jumped from wall to wall.
Midproya saw this and rushed forward while using One for all. He jumped onto the platforms Axel created and intercepted Stain, punching him in the face.
Stain grabbed onto the wall that he flew towards as Midoriya landed on a platform Axel made beneath him.
Stain brought his sword to his mouth but quickly brought back his tongue and tilted his head to the right as an ice dagger made a small cut on his cheek.
He jumped above Todoroki's next Ice attack bit his eyes widened when he sees his blade got cut off from its handle.
' When did that happen? ' He thought. He then sees green coming from the right corner of his eye.
Midoriya rushed towards him, jumping off of another one of Axel's platforms. He sent a punch towards Stain, but Stain quickly tilted his body to the left in mid-air.
He grabbed Midoriyas arm and flipped him so he was facing the ground. He then stood on Midoriya's stomach and jumped off of him.
Midoriya went straight towards the ground but he landed on his feet. Stain kept flying back after using Midoriya as a springboard.
He grits his teeth as he felt his back get damaged from slamming into something behind him.
Axel made an invisible barrier behind Stain and reflected the force towards Stain. Stain grit his teeth as he landed on the ground to catch his breath.
He quickly jumped to the side to avoid a blast of ice. He then ran up the side of the walls, jumped to the other wall, and grabbed it. He threw a knife upwards and watched as it slammed into something.
' Shigaraki was right. That kid is a pain in the ass. ' Stain said as he looked at Axel.
Axel had already covered the escape routes with barriers. Stain quickly jumped away as the wall he was using was covered in ice.
Midoriya then came down from above, delivered a devastating ax kick to Stain's head, and sent Stain straight towards the ground.
Stain landed on the ground unconscious as Midoriya landed on the ground. Midoriya breathed in heavily as he stopped using his quirk.
Todoroki sighed in relief as Axel checked Stain and trapped him inside a barrier.
' That went better than expected. ' Axel thought.
Axel could have trapped Stain inside a barrier and just dragged him to the authorities but he decided to use that as a last resort since he wanted to work on his timing to work with Midoriya and Todoroki.
While the attack, he can defend and support them from behind. Since Stain's quirk needed blood, trapping him inside a barrier would defeat him easily.
" I texted Endeavor. Told him to come to our location so we should leave. " Shoto said.
" Okay. " Midoriya said.
Iida walked towards Axel, Midoriya, and Shoto. With the battle over, Axel removed his barrier from Iida's mouth so he could speak again and Stain's quirk stopped working.
" Why did you guys do it? " Iida asked. Axel, Midoriya, and Shoto looked at Iida who was shaking.
" Why did you interfere? I had to do this. I was the only one who was supposed to do this. Not you. He hurt my brother and as the person who took his name, I needed to capture him. " Iida yelled before breathing heavily.
Midoriya was going to talk to Iida before Shoto stopped him. Axel just looked at Iida with no change in expression.
" Tell me, Iida. Did you act like a hero today? " Axel asked coldly. He stared at Iida with a dull look on his face.
Iida stayed silent as he looked at Axel's dull eyes. It was the same eyes he gave Bakugou and he couldn't respond. He tried to ignore Axel's words but he still stopped to think about it. His eyes widened as he lowered his arms.
He didn't act like a hero. He wanted to capture Stain all because Stain hurt his brother. His actions were just for revenge. Nothing heroic about it. In the process, however, his friends came to save him, risking their lives because of his selfishness.
Iida hung his head low as tears dripped from his eyes.
" I'm sorry. " Iida said quietly. His voice carried sorrow as Midoriya, Axel and Shoto saw the tears.
Midoriya wanted to say something but he couldn't. He didn't know what to say.
" You didn't act like a hero. You just acted like a human. " Axel said.
Everyone turned to look at him as Axel stared at Iida. Iida looked up towards Axel who spoke...
" You saw a member of your family get hurt and almost die. Feeling rage towards Stain was expected. Anyone would feel rage if something they care about was taken from them. You wanting revenge wasn't heroic but it was human. " Axel said.
Iida was surprised as he stared at Axel.
" Then what about the anger? Do I just forget what he did? " Iida asked quietly.
" No," Axel said as Iida looked at him. " Just keep it and direct somewhere else. You can use it to motivate yourself to get stronger for example. Just don't let it control you. "
Iida nodded as he got up. His eyes clearing up as he hung his head down.
" Thank you. All of you, for coming to help me." Iida said sincerely as he bowed.
"It's fine Iida. We are friends after all. " Midoriya said with a smile.
" You should have been class president. " Shoto whispered to Axel.
' He didn't yell or anything. He just asked Iida a simple question. His presence did the work for him and forced Iida to think. ' Shoto thought as he remembered the conversation.
"It's a drag. No thanks. " Axel said as he sighed.
...
" Is that the hero killer?!! "
" Holy shit, it is. "
" Did these kids actually defeat him?! "
The heroes present whispered as they looked at the hero killer who was laying inside Axel's barriers.
* bam *
" Gah. " Midoriya said as he clutched his head from the pain.
" What were you thinking?! You could have died you stupid brat. " Gran Torino said as he yelled at Midoriya.
" I know. I know. I'm sorry sensei but I had to. My friend was in trouble. " Midoriya said as he looked at Gran Torino.
Sighing, Gran Torino looked at Midoriya and his friends.
" Well it doesn't look like you have many injuries but one can't be too cautious. You'll get checked at the hospital and you will explain everything. " Gran Torino said.
" Yes. " Midoriya said.
Suddenly screeching could be heard as everyone turned to the culprit. It was the winged Nomu that got away from Endeavor.
" That things back again!! "
" What do we do?! "
The Nomu came closer and closer. Gran Torino noticed that the Nomu was heading straight towards Midoriya.
He got ready to go and block the Nomu but that wasn't needed as he watched the Nomu get cut in half.
The 2 halves of the Nomu flew to the ground and slid to a stop while its blood stained the road.
" It got cut in half! "
" How did that happen?! "
Shoto and Midoriya looked at Axel who lowered his arm and looked at tye Nomu on the ground. They knew he did something since something similar happened to Stains blade.
' That was way more effective than I thought. This will come in handy in the right situations. ' Axel thought.
" Was that a new move? " Shoto asked Axel. Axel looked at him and nodded, admitting that he was the one who cut the Nomu in half.
" Did he make an invisible sword or maybe something else? What could it be? " Midoriya muttered as he tried to figure it out.
* bam *
" Stop muttering. Do it later. " Gran Torino said
" Okay. " Midoriya said.
The police soon arrived to take Stain away. Axel made sure Stain couldn't get away as he was arrested by the police.
" Oi Axel. " Stain said as he looked at Axel. Axel stared back at him.
" I'll be watching your development. Don't disappoint me. " Stain said with a grin. He was interested in Axel.
For the first time, Stain couldn't decide where to place a person. Axel admitted that he was probably a fake and stated his reason for trying to become a hero, was to find an answer to a question.
Stain doesn't know the question and he couldn't read Axel. He doesn't know how Axel thinks or why he would want to learn about his own ideology. His question could be anything related to a hero. This was something Stain wasn't used to. Axel was a complete mystery to him.
Axel looked at him and said nothing as Stain was being taken away.
" For someone who is being taken away, you sure are chatty, hero killer. " Endeavor said as he walked up to Stain.
The air suddenly went cold as Stain looked directly at Endeavor. His malice permeating the air as the heroes froze in their tracks.
" Be quiet Endeavor. You are nothing but a fake hero just like the rest of them. This world doesn't need people like you. I will never die to a fake. I will take back what it means to be a hero. The only one who can kill me is All Might. " Stain said as his malice got stronger as he stared at the fake hero in front of him.
Everyone else stared in horror as they tried to calm down. They were shaking from fear as some fell to their knees. Endeavor stared with wide eyes as Stain looked at him. He couldn't move. Stain was already captured but Endeavor still couldn't move a muscle.
Stain soon stopped as he knew he left his mark. With a grin he looked at Axel again who was just staring at him with his usual expression.
He was placed in the police car as it drove away. Axel watched the car leave with sweat dripping from his face.
It was his first time dealing with bloodlust. He was shaking a bot but quickly regained control and resisted it.
' That was scary. ' Axel thought as he remembered the feeling of Stains bloodlust hitting him.
In the distance, Shigaraki and Kurogiri left the scene and went back to the hideout.
