Chapter 24: Golden Apples

With just a thought of Fred, the pile of gold vanished into thin air as if there is nothing there to begin with.

Then by instinct, Fred know that all those gold was now inside the ring, laying there waiting for the time for it to be let out outside once again.

So, Fred pulled out a piece from that pile with a thought and just like that, a piece of gold magically appeared on his hands.

Seeing that it's function is working properly, He throw the gold back into the ring and look at the distance of the pile earlier.

He was 2 meters away from that pile but still he was able to put those golds into the ring. But this distance doesn't not have a limit, from what he can feel Fred can roughly say that it's about 20 meters.

Fred feel satisfied with this and said, "Just what you'd expect from the so called greatest thief, this item will be a necessity if you're going down on the thieving path, sigh..."

He let out a sigh just thinking about what this item can do, just imagine going into a crowded place, you just stand on one side but target those a few meters away from you, who will dare to think that you are the suspect, right?

Anyway, after he got that done, he walk to the second treasure chest on the left most side and opened it.

A very bright light shine from the inside of the chest when Fred opened it. It is so bright that he have to shield his eyes with his hands from this light.

It just lasted for a few seconds, but at that period of time, Fred felt a few emotion raging inside him from excitement to doubt, from expectation to wariness.

This is because of the roller coaster ride of an emotion he felt since from earlier.

But in the end, he calmed down. He was already satisfied with the ring on his finger, there is no need to be such a greedy jerk and expect for all things like treasures to be obtained by him.

So with that, Fred removed the hands that covers his eyes from the light earlier.

But even though he was already calm, when he saw what lay on the treasure chest, Fred still felt dumbfounded his face showed his emotion very well as he have his mouth wide open as if his jaw will fall down to the floor in a second and his eyes seems to have lost its focus.

Though he regained his cool in just a bit and fix himself up.

As for what can cause him to react like that, well, it's cause the item that lies on the chest in a bunch of apples, red apples that can be bought in the market. They all look so appetizing though.

He then used the appraisal skill again on the those apples.

[Golden Apple: An apple that only came out once in a century and only one piece appear every time. This is a so-called food of the Gods. This item only grows in the land of Yggdrasil.

Fred's eyes twinkling when he saw this, it's said here that this is food of Gods!

Isn't it exciting to just see this, what's more it's also stated that this Golden Apple only come out once a century!

"But in what part of this is golden really?"

That question flash on his mind for a bit but was gone as fast at it came. No matter what it's called, be it golden apple, violet apple or even sh*t apple, the only important thing is the effect of it!

When Fred's eyes saw the Soul Strengthening on the properties, he felt that his eyes might fall out of it's socket from the shock he felt.

He know that this is something necessary for him especially so after knowing he can't create a skill related to soul!

He was able to create the appraisal skill earlier, this proves that his "GoldFinger" doesn't have any problems.

So, he conclude that he is not able to create it because it's about soul, as for why, he doesn't know as well.

So these bunch of Golden Apples are really a timely blessing from the heavens!

He picked one and took a bite into it.

The juice flows into his mouth and down to his throat, as it arrives on his stomach, he felt a warm relaxing feeling going through his whole body, not missing out even corners of the body.

Fred feels that his body is being cleaned of its dirt, he felt comfortable with this so he immediately finish the apple.

"Aaaahh~~"

Fred can't help but close his eyes at the comfortable feeling and he even let out a moan as the comfort take over him.

While he is feeling comfortable, something was happening to his body.

Inky black liquid started to come out from all the pores on his body. Within a few seconds it now covered him whole and he looks like someone that cane out of a swamp.

He's like a black unknown monster, additionally there is an unbearable smell coming from that liquid that you will not last for even a second if you smelled it.

The stink of it slowly crept up inside Fred's nose and his face crumpled.

With that as a trigger, his shut eyes was immediately snapped open. Only then did he feel the sticky and smelly liquid sticking to him.

"Eeew! What the heck is this!"

"*Bluuurr-*

Fred felt his insides turning upside down from the smell that he almost puke because of it so he hurriedly tried to clean up his body.

He use his hands to scoop out those black thing out of his body little by little first starting on his hands to his face then his whole body.

"This is so disgusting, Sh*t!"

Still not feeling content with the clean up he created a water magic skill. That was the last of his silver points, now he can't create a skill even if he want to because he got zero now.

Without further ado, he started cleaning up his body cause he feels repulsed by the undeniably suffocating smell.
