Chapter 3: Daemon boy
The Air around them was kinder suffocating however no one in the room dared to interrupt. The boy clears his throat before getting up and walks towards her.

Amber kept her eyes locked with the boy who walked towards her with such confidence, not noticing that Zack and Leon had moved in front of her and taken a defensive stance.
"Do you think your boys can stop me?" His voice acquired a calm yet threatening tone. In a blink of an eye, the boy stood right in front of Amber, their faces only inches away.
"You smell so intoxicating" Amber could feel his breath on her face and from the corner of her eyes, she watched as he stroked her face.
"Don't touch me "Amber hisses, swatting the boy's hand away, only to hear a chuckle come out from his mouth.
"Hmm, feisty"
The gap between them seemed to have got smaller, as they carried on staring at each other not caring about what was going around them, Amber could have sworn she saw the boys eyes flash red for a couple of seconds.
"And what is going on here?" Amber flinches away from the boy
"Nothing sir"
"Lucifer I hope you're not causing trouble already"
"Of course not sir"
Amber sighs softly as she watches the boy Lucifer walk away, just as he reaches the door he turns around and glances at Amber before disappearing as if nothing had happened. Amber bits her bottom lip in annoyance and slight embarrassment as the memory of Lucifer's eyes flashing red appears in her mind. She shakes her head before turning her attention back towards her group. The rest of the lesson carried on without any further disruptions.
Once back in the dorms, Amber lets out a sigh of relief as she lets her body crash onto the bed. Her thoughts kept drifting back to the boy Lucifer. Something that had caught her eyes was the tattoo of a Nordic Rune on his right wrist. Letting out a frustrated huff, Amber turns her face towards where Talia stood.
"Talia, can I ask something?"
"Yeah sure, what's up?"
"That boy Lucifer, who is he?" Talia whips her head up and looks directly at Amber, with an expression of confusion and a hint of fear sparkling in her eyes.
"He's a daemon, he's…"
"He's what Talia"
"Nothing, just for your own sake stay away from him, infact try not to interact with any of the daemons." Amber turns into her back and stares up into the ceiling, lost in thought. 'What the hell' Amber thought to herself, she closes her eyes and lets sleep take over.
'Snow was falling. The soft flakes cascaded all around me, catching on my eyelashes while I stared up at the tall man before me. Clad in a sleek, red suit, he was as stark against the snow as a drop of blood on white parchment. He considered me with murky, bloodshot eyes and I shuddered.
"Why," I asked, only to realize that no sound emerged when I spoke. Nothing but snow-covered terrain surrounded us for miles. A sudden touch, something colder than the snow, made me jump. I whipped around to find the man reaching for me with hands wrapped in a swirling pattern of delicate, black tattoos.
The man angled his head and smiled, displaying perfect teeth. His reply whispered from his red plump lips. "A deal requires the participation of all parties involved. You," he emphasized the word, "have not upheld your end of the bargain."
There was a smell of spices and oddly enough apples emitting from the man, causing me to relax into his arms. It almost felt like I belonged. He pulls me closer, wrapping his arms around my waist delicately, creating butterflies in my stomach.
"Who are you?" A soft chuckle comes out as he pulls my chin up only to have our faces a millimeter apart.
"That's for you to find out, My sugar plum" There was a sense of playfulness mixed with passiveness in his tone. "Now It's time for you to wake up, sweet cheeks and don't worry I'll be seeing you soon." '
A couple of months had gone by since she had that dream. Amber and her group had quickly gone up in levels, they had reached level 5 earlier than most students in the school. Amber and her group waited patiently in the sports hall for professor Cronin. They turn their heads towards the sound of heel clicking but noticing other students with their professor.
"Professor, what are these daemons doing here?" Zack clicks his tongue in annoyance while glaring.
"Alright listen up, all eight of you have reached level 5 quicker then most students in this school, meaning that your lessons will change, there will be more missions and you will have a trainer depending on what abilities you have." Professor Cronin took a book out and flipped some pages before continuing"
" Before you get your trainers, you will have to go through a test so that we can find out your magic abilities. Follow me now please" the guardians walked in front of the daemons, placing a gap between them, however, Amber could not shake the feeling of eyes blazing into her back. She shrugged it off and carried on walking.
"One by one you will be called up and you will go into this room where you will be tested. Now, remember to be true to yourself. So first one up is Leon" Amber watches in silence as her group wishes him luck before he disappears into the room.
The room was filled with silence other than the small chatter here and there. But Amber could not shake off the feeling that she was being stared at with intensity, almost suffocating her. She glances up only to catch Lucifer baring his eyes into hers with an expressionless face. As she glared at him, Amber could not help the feeling that she had seen him somewhere, like he was the man in her dreams. 'It can't be possible' she thought to herself while shaking her head, unconsciously curling up her fists and digging her nails into her palms.
