Chapter 2: Call Him
My eyes just looked into his and wondered what he wanted.
"Look I'm sorry this happened to you but all I did was try to help you. I see you don't like me for helping you but it's my job." He looked relieved after what he said.
"Why are you talking about this out loud in the street?" I asked kind of mad but I was more embarrassed then mad.
"You lied to me in the cafe and you seem to love Jimin very much." He still managed to smile after what he said.
I squinted my eyes at him and said "Yes I love him and Laura very much."
Suga nodded his head and said "I really don't get how can you hate me for helping you but I wish you the best."
I looked around us. How people were starring at me rudely and I couldn't stand it. I walked around him and left.
I threw myself on my bed once I got home and yelled in my pillow "UGHHHH! I HATE DOCTORS!"
I started to scratch my skin and sighed how I forgot I can't touch my skin. I went to my purse and got my cream. I gulped my saliva down my throat hard as I saw how I was almost done with my cream.
"It's ok I'll go tomorrow to the store and buy some more." I thought.
I heard a thump against the wall and heard a shout.
"Mai! I'm home! Sleep well!" Jimin said from next door.
I acted like I was asleep so I didn't have to respond.
*Next Day*
I was in my job and there was absolutely nothing to do. The store was so clean and I was getting bored. I wish Laura would work with me at this time but she only does part-time. I heard the bells ring and I smiled to see customers coming in. Not so many but atleast it was something to keep me entertained. A few tables were empty but I liked it better than nothing.
I heard the bells ring again and it was Suga. He held the door for someone that was coming. I looked away and waited for him to come order but he didn't. He stayed by the door with some girl and I couldn't hear what they were saying.
Finally, they came my way but Suga made a turn to the restroom. I couldn't help but to watch him go down the hall.
The girl came and said "Hello."
I quickly said "Oh hello! Sorry, I was thinking about something."
She smiled and said "Oh it's ok."
I asked with a soft smile "What will you order?"
She looked up at the menu and I looked at her neck. I started to remember my skin issue and I wanted to itch so bad. "Control yourself, please." I said in my head.
She looked back down at me and I quickly smiled.
"I'll order a coffee, water, two croissants and I think that's it for now." She chuckled as she ordered.
I nodded and said "Ok I'll have it out any minute please, wait."
By the time I gave her her order Suga came out and sat with her. They didn't look nothing like eachother so I assumed they were dating or liked one another.
"Why did you order a coffee?!" Suga kind of shouted at her.
I couldn't help but to watch him react to her drinking out of her coffee cup.
"Calm down, Suga. Look I'll go order a water. Sorry, I forgot but you know I love coffee." She said with a pout as she tried to hug Suga.
Suga looked really upset and she came over to me. I quickly acted like I didn't hear anything.
"Hi Mai. Can I order a water instead?" She smiled as she asked really polite.
"Yeah totally. Are you ok, though? Was there something wrong with the coffee?" I asked with concern.
She chuckled and said "The coffee was delicious but I prefer a water instead."
"Oh ok." I said with a smile. I went to go get the water and thought if she was lying or not. Yet, again I should mind my own business. I got her the water and asked "Sorry, what's your name?"
She smiled and responded "Alina."
"Oh ok now we both know our names." I smiled as I said.
She said "I hope to see you around."
She went to go sit infront of Suga and she showed him her water. He smiled really big at her and I looked at them confused. After, awhile I started to clean the tables that were not even dirty but still it didn't hurt to clean. I would look at Suga and Alina to see if they were done eating once in awhile. To my surprise they finished pretty fast but they stayed talking after awhile.
I felt myself get sadden when I saw them getting up from their table and thought "Wow he didn't even look at me or talk to me. He really did just leave me alone."
Alina looked back and waved goodbye to me. I waved back and sighed.
"I wish I could like doctors but I just can't." I whispered.
My shift was over and I went straight to Walgreens. I went around looking for the cream but it wasn't where I got it from.
"Um excuse me?" I got one of the employees attention.
"Yes ma'am?" A man answered.
I held up my empty cream that I had once bought here and asked "Where do you guys have this cream located now? I can't seem to find it where I saw it last time I came."
He gushed as he said "Oh I'm so sorry! That cream was discontinued."
I gasped and quickly asked "What? Why?!"
He said "I wouldn't know but I would recommend you to go to your doctor and ask which cream should you buy now. We have many others on display but I wouldn't know if they are the right one for you."
I held my heart and my voice softly let out a shaky "Thank you."
I looked at the creams that were there but I didn't know which one to get. I bit my lip and grabbed two different ones. I went home as fast as I could. I took a shower and rubbed both creams on opposite sides of my body. I waited a few hours and noticed my skin getting more irritated.
"No no no! Why?! I'm going to have to go back to that dumb doctor." I said angrily at myself.
I changed into some pants, shirt and got my jacket. I grabbed my bag before leaving and thought maybe he's out with Alina then he won't see me. I rushed to the hospital and went to the nurse.
"Oh your back so soon. What's going on?" The same nurse was there in the front that attended me last time.
I said "I need a new cream. The one that was recommended is discontinued and I need a new one."
She turned back to ask the other nurse "Is Min Yoongi here?"
I said "A different doctor can see me. I don't care I just really need a medicine now or I think I'll die."
The other nurse said "He's not here. It's his day off."
The nurse turned to look at me and said "Mai we're about to close in like 15 minutes and sadly the doctors that we have right now don't know anything about your situation. They're here for other health issues and not your kind. Do you understand what I'm saying?"
I widen my eyes and asked "Then what do I do?!"
She said "I have to call your doctor so he can come-"
"No!" I quickly said.
She widen her eyes and said "If you don't get help now you could suffer something way worse then this. I need to call him."
"Isn't there another doctor in the building?" I asked with disbelief.
She nodded her head sideways and half the lights turned off.
I jumped a little as I thought the electricity went out but then remembered they would close any minute.
"Mai?" She said as she tried to get my attention again.
I said "I don't think he'll come. I saw him earlier-"
She interrupted me as she said "He will come. Please, take a seat and we'll get you in."
I stopped talking and walked to a seat. The lobby was empty and it was just me. I let out a nervous sigh as I heard the nurse call Suga to tell him I was there.
"So embarrassing." I thought as I blushed.
"Mai, go to the door so we can let you in a room." The nurse said from her seat.
I went to the door and opened it to go to the back. She walked me into a room and said "Mai, I'm the only one here now but I have to go. Suga will be here any minute and he knows. I really hope you get better."
"Thank you." I said.
She left and the room seemed to get colder. I walked around a little in the room and looked down at my phone. It was already 6:34 and I felt bad for making that nurse stay a little longer. I knew we all had lifes to attend after work.
*knock knock*
I quickly turned around and saw Suga in the same outfit from earlier. He had just put his doctor coat over his clothes and came over here.
He didn't smile at me like he once did and I felt bad. I didn't know what felt worse my soul or my rash.
"How are you? My nurse informed me that the cream you use is not being sold anymore, right?" He asked really serious.
I nodded my head and he got some gloves. "Sit, please." He said.
I hissed and asked "Why?!"
Suga said "I have to check you. These rashes can cause death and I want to make sure you aren't going to die any minute. You can't play with allergic reactions like yours."
I starred at him how he sounded so convincing and I had no choice but to listen. Then I got a little scared because I thought how it was just us in the room and the building. It was already closed and he shouldn't be here or me.
"Could you relax? Your heart beat is really beating so fast. At this rate you could have a heart attack." He said as he looked at the machine that was checking my blood pressure and heart rate.
I couldn't resist laughing to his last sentence and he looked down at my smile. I looked back at him and saw how he was looking at my smile. I slowly stopped smiling and looked down.
The machine beeped and he said "Alright. I need to see your rash."
"I haven't put on any cream since this morning so it's gotten pretty bad again." I said trying to convince him of not having to look at my skin.
Suga tilted his head a little at me and said "I'll wait."
I said "Before, doing anything I wanted to apologize." I held my hands together as I continued "Sorry that your date was interrupted by-"
Suga said "Mai, I won't speak about these things with you right now."
"Why?" I asked.
Suga said "Your health is my priority. The faster we get this check up done the faster your skin will feel better."
"Wow that sounds so real." Slipped out of my mouth.
Suga squinted his eyes at me and looked upset as he asked "You think I'm lying to you?
Now I felt uncomfortable and I wanted to leave. I looked at the door and he moved a little infront of my view.
Suga said "I know you don't want to be here and trust me I don't want to either. So, let's get this over with, ok?"
I chuckled as I knew he would rather be with Alina than stuck with me.
Suga asked "What's so funny?"
I looked at him and said "It's funny how you said that you would rather be with Alina then be here."
Suga chuckled and said "I love my job but I know you don't like being here that's what I meant."
I rolled my eyes and said "Sure."
Suga asked "What?"
"Nothing." I said as I laid back in the medical bed.
Suga looked at me confused and asked "May I?"
"You already have so it's a whatever." I said really annoyed.
Suga looked and didn't even check the rest of my body.
"Sit up, please." He ordered.
I looked at him confused as I sat up and asked "Why didn't you check the rest?"
Suga said "You can't waste any more time. Let's go."
"What?! Where?!" I asked scared.
Suga said "To the store. We need to get you the new cream as soon as possible. The rash is spreading to quickly especially around your throat area. We can never let it spread completely in the throat area or it will close the air way."
He opened the door and I walked behind him. I said "It's ok I can walk no need to-"
Suga stopped in the hallway and said "Do you want to get a shot on your thigh? Let me inform you, it's something that hurts, really bad and it consists of pulling your pants down. Do you want that or this cream?"
He was right in front of me and I said "The cream that you gave me is discontinued. What will I do?" At this point I wanted to cry because I felt like I would die any minute. If he did pull my pants down he would see my Santa Claus underwear even though it was summer.
Suga said "There's a cream out there but not the same exact way. It's better than nothing though. Let's go. I don't want to waste any more time."
I walked out the lobby and he locked up. We went to the elevator and we saw the generator. Suga gave him the keys to the lobby so he could give it to the nurses tomorrow morning.
"You won't work tomorrow?" I asked confused.
Suga took out his keys and I raised an eyebrow how he had a car. I followed behind him in the parking lot.
Suga said "I don't know I may have to stay in to take care of you."
My eyes widen to what he said and he opened the door of his car for me.
I looked around and saw cameras. "Just in case I get murdered or something." I thought to myself.
I got in his car and he got in, to drive off.
"Why did you bring your car?" I asked forgetting he was with Alina.
Suga said "I was with Alina all day and it was my day off."
"I'm sorry but I told the nurse to find a different doctor." I said feeling really bad now.
Suga came to a red light and said "Don't do that again. Other doctors wouldn't help because they wouldn't understand your situation like me. Once, a doctor sees your case stick to the same doctor because things are much easier for us."
I looked at him and said "Sorry I mest up your date."
A small smile formed on his lips and I couldn't help but feel my heart crash a little. "He really does like her. Look how that cute small smile appears on his face when he thinks about her." I thought broken hearted.
Suga didn't say anything and continued to drive.
The car drive became quiet and I looked out the window. My phone ringed and it was Jimin. A small smile appeared on my face and I picked up.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Got you some food. Where you at, beauty?" He asked in a flirty way.
I stopped smiling and looked down at my feet as I made up a lie. "I'm out with a friend."
Jimin shouted in the phone "WHERE I WANNA GO?!"
I giggled at how childish he sounded and stopped when I recalled I was in Suga's car.
"No Jimin. I'll talk to you later, bye." I quickly said before hanging up.
We were at another red light and Suga asked "So, I'm your friend now?"
I looked at him shooked at how he heard what I said on the phone. I told Suga "I don't think we can."
Suga looked at me and asked "Why? Did I do something wrong?"
I bit my lip and looked down at my sweaty hands.
Suga asked as he voice darkened a little "Answer me? Did I?"
I looked up and said "Green."
Suga drove up into the parking lot and I rushed out the car. We both went in the store and started to look for the allergy section.
"Here!" He said as he got my attention.
I was going to pay but he didn't let me.
"Can she use your bathroom?" Suga asked the employee.
I widen my eyes and said "Oh no it's fine! Let's go Suga!" I pulled him by his hand and rushed out the store.
I let go and got in his car. He came in and joined me.
"Why did you do that? You need to put this on now! This is really serious. You could die." He said in a very concerned tone.
"Just drive please. Then we can talk." I said as I touched my throat.
Suga pulled my hand away from my skin and said "Remember you can't touch."
"Sorry I forget!" I said in a panic mode.
Suga turned on his car and drove off.
"Where do you live?" He asked.
"Just drop me off near the cafe where I work." I formed my hands into fist as I said.
Suga looked down and said "No I will not. I will go with you and help you."
I quickly looked at him shocked and said "What?! No! It's fine just-"
Suga interrupted me by saying "No I'm taking you home and I'm going with you. It's a doctor order!"
"You can't! I don't want Jimin to see you!" I spit out.
Suga made a quick turn and said "Ok problem solved then."
I looked back nervous and said "The cafe is that way. What are you doing?"
Suga said "Don't worry. He won't see us."
He made another turn and went into his apartment parking lot. He got off the car but I didn't. I was so scared and didn't know what to do. He came around and opened the door.
"Come on, Mai. We don't have time to waste." He insisted.
I looked above my fist how they started to turn red and burn like hell. I gulped and got off his car. I went with him in the elevator and other people were in their with us.
I looked at the floor number that we came to a stop and it was the 7th floor. I looked surprised and more when Suga pulled me by my hand. So, we could leave the elevator together and I followed behind him. I kind of wondered if maybe I should have asked for help but yet again he is my doctor.
He quickly took out his keys and I asked kind of scared "Wait. You live with Alina?"
Suga opened the door and turned the lights on. "No come in." He said as he took out my cream. I walked in and closed the door.
"Where is she?" I asked because I didn't want her to get mad at me.
Suga said "I don't care about Jimin and you shouldn't care about Alina. Worry about yourself because you're the one dying not them."
I sighed and got the cream.
"Go to my restroom and wear the cream quickly!" He said as he pointed to the door.
I went to his restroom and didn't even hesitate. I took off my jacket and shirt. I opened my cream and washed my hands before using it. I finished rubbing it all over my chest, neck and stomach. I tried reaching some of my back but it was impossible for me to reach every centimeter again.
I looked in the mirror and felt my tears covering my eye sight. I didn't want Suga to come rub the cream on my back but I didn't want to die like this. The irritation was killing me physically, emotionally and mentally. I heard knocking on the door and my tears vanished.
"Yeah?" I said.
Suga asked "You got it?"
I rolled my eyes as doctors knew everything about health and I was not ok. I needed help but I didn't want it. I had no choice but to surrender and say "no."
Suga said "Open the door. So, I can help you."
I said "No it's ok."
Suga said "Ugh! Come on, Mai. Stop being like this."
I didn't say anything as I sat on his restroom countertop.
Suga knocked and said "I have keys."
I widen my eyes and got my jacket. I put my arms in through the sleeves so it would cover my chest and stomach area.
"Do I have another choice?" I asked defeated.
Suga asked "I'm coming in."
I covered my face with my sleeves so he wouldn't see me all sad and embarrassed. He opened the door and put the keys on the counter. He put hand sanitizer on and got my cream.
"Ready?" He asked.
I didn't say anything.
Suga put his very cold hands on my back and I gasped.
Suga said "Sorry I don't have gloves here but my hands are clean."
I looked back at him a little and said "No, your hands are so cold!"
Suga looked at me as he chuckled and once we made eye contact I looked away. He rubbed it all over my back and it didn't take long at all.
Suga said "Ok you're good to go. I'll be out in kitchen if you need me again."
He washed his hands and took the keys with him. I blew air on my face but instead I washed my face with cold water to reduce the heat on my face. I heard a knock on the door again and I got scared.
"Hey it's me. Look I want to give you a bigger shirt. I told you you can't wear tight clothes." He said from the other side of the door.
I opened the door a little and accepted it. I quickly closed it and looked at it. The shirt was like a XL but it was huge. I got my shirt and jacket before leaving his restroom. My stomach grumbled as the food scent hit my nose and I couldn't help but smile.
"Oh maybe it's for Alina." I whispered before heading Suga's way.
I saw Suga taking off his doctor coat off and I could see his muscular arms. He looked up to see me and I looked towards the door.
"Well, thank you for helping me but I should be going." I said glancing back at him with a smile.
Suga said "No you have to stay and it's a order."
I looked at him serious and asked "What? Why?"
Suga said "I need to keep an eye on you. If you leave you'll probably have an allergic reaction and will die in three minutes. If you stay I'll have the chance of saving you and not having a guilty conscience."
Doctors and criminals are very smart I thought before thinking of what to say.
"I'm making food so please sit down and try not to itch." He said as he continued to cook.
My eyes roamed around and I went to the window. My eyes widen as I saw my apartment right across from Suga's. The traffic was the only thing in between us and I couldn't believe how close we were this whole time. I looked next door to see if I could see Jimin and he had his lights on. I saw him coming up to his balcony and I quickly got away from Suga's window.
"Weird coincidence." I thought before looking back at Suga.
Suga smiled at me and I felt bad when I saw his smile. I couldn't help but to look away.
He turned around as he could notice I was uncomfortable and I didn't want to be here. I didn't want Jimin to see us and think something was going on especially, Alina.
I put my stuff down on his couch and he said "It's ready."
I looked at it and it was spaghetti. "He must think I'm a child." I thought.
Suga sat down and I took a seat.
"Alina isn't going to come right now and murder me right?" I asked before eating.
Suga chuckled and said "Alina wouldn't even hurt a bug. Don't worry."
"Mhm." I said unconvinced.
Suga smiled and asked "You don't believe me?"
I said "If I were her and knew about this I would pop that girl in seconds."
Suga laughed and asked "Really?"
I said "Yeah when I love I love hard."
Suga started to eat and said "I see it when you're with Jimin how you smack him."
I laughed and said "Oh no! That's not what I meant. He just plays to much I swear."
I started to eat my food and Suga asked "How is it?"
I said "It's good but you didn't put any medication in this right?"
