Chapter 53: [HAPPY GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY]
Previously on Avenging Angels
Rose sneaks into the nursing home to kidnap Matilda and takes her to an abandoned hospital.

"What's going on?" Matilda looked around the room in confusion.
I gave Iris the signal and she walked out of the room at the same time Lily came in, her face covered with a face mask.
I looked at her and she took the pillow from the bed and stared at me before she pressed it lightly over my face.
My sisters and I thought about this for a very long time since we heard how our mother was killed.
There was no way we could get the CCTV footage of the fake male nurse that entered the room nor
could we find out the exact way she was killed.
So we pondered on the most effective way one could a patient killed without any of the staff getting suspicious.
He possibly couldn't have strangled her because the marks would be left on her neck, he wouldn't have chosen to remove the plug from her machine because they eventually find out that someone tampered with the machine.
So it was two ways, either he drugged her with a drug that she wasn't supposed to take or he used a pillow to block out her mouth so she could suffocate.
So we were going to try both scenarios in front of Matilda so it may trigger something in her memory that could help us to find out how exactly our mother was killed.
As Lily applied pressure on the pillow, I tried to use my hands to scratch her hands and kicked my leg here and there just so I could act like I was being strangled.
We did that for a few more minutes before Iris told us to stop through the earpiece.
"She didn't move," Iris said.
"She just kept staring at you as though she wanted to leave this place"
"Alright, let's try the other scenario then, where I inject you" Lily suggested and we moved to action.
I arranged myself on the bed, Lily stood by the door, still dressed as a male nurse and Iris went back to the camera room after pushing Matilda into the room.
Lily walked in and took out a syringe from her pocket and she injected the water into the fake IV drip.
After a few seconds, I fell back and pretended to be unconscious, few seconds passed and no one said a word.
"Yayy!!! Nice acting!!" I heard Matilda's excited voice and I looked up to see her clapping her hands.
"That definitely didn't strike a nerve" Iris mumbled with a sigh through the earpiece.
Lily and I sighed simultaneously at the failed attempt.
"Again, Again, Again!!" she demanded.
Out of nowhere, a sudden rush of rage filled my chest and I stood up and marched towards Matilda with a scowl.
"You think this is a play? You think it's funny?!" I grabbed her shoulders roughly and shook her.
"Rose-" Lily said behind me but I was blinded with rage.
"Well, it's not funny to me. Why can't you remember what happened?!! Why can't you just tell us what happened on that bloody day?!"
"Stop it, Rose. You're frightening her!" Lily grabbed me but I pushed her away.
"Don't you know that only you can help us find out to truth?! Help us! Help me!" I sank to the floor with a defeated look.
"Please help me!" I begged as I felt the friendly sentiment of tears on my eyes.
"She kept on screaming please help me..." Matilda said suddenly and I looked up.
"W-what?" I stuttered.
"It was a starry night" she began as her grey eyes were set far off from reality and back to that day.
20th May 2000.
-FLASHBACK-
It was a busy day as usual in Hope and Love Clinic, because they were in the suburbs, it was always hectic when people got accident from the bad road and the hospital would get full.
Today was a special day because Dr. Andrew Richardson successfully helped Avalor Bladderwort, the famous businesswoman, give birth to her first girl and he was said to have received a huge sum of money as a token.
"I hope you're feeling much better now?" Matilda Ross, the senior nurse who was in charge of Rosaline Thorne, asked with a smile.
"Better? My legs feel like melted pickles" Rosaline snorted with a playful grin and Matilda smiled.
Matilda has never seen a woman so carefree and beautiful as Rosaline, even though she had just given birth, she was joking and smiling as though it was nothing.
"That's normal, she was a big baby," Matilda checked her drip and saw it was almost finished.
"Ah, my first two girls were so tiny, I was worried. This one must be special" Rosaline smiled and her blue eyes shined at the thought of her newborn baby girl.
"She is, she looks just like you. The same eyes, the same hair" Matilda was captivated by the cute baby that she stared at her for more than five minutes.
"Finally a child that takes after my beautiful hair, I was starting to get worried because my first girls had red hair, just like their father. Finally, a member of my team" Rosaline snickered and Matilda laughed at her snarkiness.
"She's a miniature of you"
"Really? I was thinking of naming her after me but there can only be one me" Rosaline flipped her hair dramatically and Matilda laughed again.
"Rosaline, that's a nice name" Matilda mused.
"I'm going to get more drip. Give me a minute," Matilda said and took the patient's file in her left hand.
"I hope you're not running away from me!" Rosaline taunted jokingly.
"Of course not, you're a darling. I will be right back" Matilda left the room.
Rosaline sighed in comfort and stretched out her aching legs. A blissful smile was on her lips as she thought about her little baby.
Her husband, Brudy, went to drop off their elder daughters at their neighbor's house so he would stay the night with her.
She turned her head with a smile as the door was open.
"Missed me already?" she smiled.
"Oh, sorry. I thought you were Matilda" Rosaline apologized with a small smile after she saw a male nurse at the door.
His eyes were the only thing that could be seen as he wore a small cap and a face mask.
His eyes were so deadly that Rosaline unconsciously gasped out.
"You don't say much, do you?" Rosaline squeaked.
Before she could blink, he was in front of her, staring at her with a lethal glint in his nearly black eyes.
"Umm...Do you want something?" Rosaline swallowed hard as a deep pit fell into her stomach.
She could have run but she knew her legs would fail her before she could get to the door.
When the nurse took a pillow and brought it close to her face, she sucked in deeply.
"Please...Please, don't do this. I don't know what you want but I'm a mother of two beautiful girls, and I just gave birth to my third girl, please, they need me" she pleaded as tears began to fall from her eyes.
He ignored her pleas and brought the pillow close to her face.
"Please... I'm begging you, I'll give you anything, just spare my life, I have a family..." he covered her face and pressed the pillow down.
She squirmed under him as he fought for her life.
At that moment, Matilda stepped into the room.
"I told you-" she gasped out loud as her grey eyes witnessed the horrible scene.
Matilda stood shock-still, her legs couldn't move an inch as she kept on hearing Rosaline's muffled screams.
'Please help me', she could vaguely hear her say.
Matilda finally got the strength and courage to walk towards the man and she grabbed his arms.
"Stop it!" she tried to yank his hand off Rosaline but to no avail.
At that point, Rosaline had gone limp and she had stopped fighting.
The man pushed Matilda off and took the chance to run out of the room.
Matilda's shaking figure slowly moved to look at Rosaline and she wheezed shakily.
Rosaline's blue eyes were dilating all over the room as her body was motionless.
"P-please name... my daughter a-after me a-and tell Avalor... I'm s-sorry..." a single tear dropped from her striking blue eyes and with that, she took her last breath.
Matilda screamed and rushed out of the room, not being able to see Rosaline's lifeless body for a minute longer.
When she got out of the room, she fell on the floor as tears fell rapidly from her eyes. She heard a woman scream and also fall to the floor but other than that, her ear was ringing with Rosaline's voice.
'Please help me',
She couldn't block out the terrifying calls.
After Matilda got a grip on herself, she reported what he saw to the director of the hospital and he promised to take legal actions.
When Matilda came back to work the next day, she saw Rosaline's file and it was written her death was by complications.
When she confronted the director, he asked to stay out of it or she would be fired. Matilda knew the killer had bribed their director.
She put it all into place,
Rosaline apologized to Avalor before she died and Matilda figured that Avalor was the same lady who ordered a nurse to switch her baby with Rosaline's baby last night, shortly after she was killed.
Avalor killed Rosaline.
Matilda, who was unable to handle the guilt and trauma, quitted her job the next day.
She told the director she couldn't be part of an organization that didn't value a person's life.
Ever since then, her mind has been haunted by that memory and she wasn't herself anymore.
A few years later, she got a mental disorder and was moved to a nursing home after her memory failed.
But that horrifying day was forever imprinted in her head.
