Chapter 33: Too guilty

In the hospital

"Mr. Davis, what are you talking about?" asked Victor, his eyes were filled with questions. Did he know Chloe and think I was not treating her well. 'But I think my acting was well done.'

"Are you feeling pressured?" He asked, taking his pulse in his hand. Like a professional doctor would.

"En." 'was that treatment?' he scratched his nose, for a moment the sad face of Cynthia came into his view when this doctor was scolding him. He felt he had let her down.

"I was just checking the reason for your trauma. Is it due to financial, or relationship problems." He said writing something on his pad.

"Oh, okay." God! Humans have very queer methods of treatment. But it's true for a moment he really felt mental pressure. Now he was missing Cyn. He wanted to hug her so badly. She teleported herself in the morning. She was looking so red in his embrace, and those hickeys! Oh, so that's why she was wearing a high neck top. ' he thought shaking his head, a big goofy smile was on his face.

'Look at the gal of this guy. Here I am criticizing him for his mistakes, and here he was thinking about Cyn in front of me.' " Mr Edmonds, you need to answer a few more questions."

In a restaurant

"These are the trekking plans. These are bonfires. These are hunting. These are treasure hunts. You can choose any or all four." said Adam in a very professional tone. He was standing (yes not even ready to sit) in Leo's office. His eyes were cast down. And his face was stoic with no expression, gone was the bubbly and smiley Adam. His injured hands didn't go unnoticed by Leo.

"Okay, Mrs Delilah please bring today's special for Mr. Adams." He asked the lady standing at the side who was trying to minimise her presence as much as she could. But before she could reply.

"No worries sir, I am not hungry. Thank you Mrs Delilah," He said Looking at Delilah, not even sparing one glance at Leo.

"Then Miss Delilah you may go now. And ask both interns under you about their progress, and train them." he said rubbing his head, God, It's going to be very difficult.

"Yes sir" Mrs Delilah bowed and almost sprinted out of the room like ghosts were chasing her.

"What are you doing?" Leo asked while standing from his seat and putting hands on Adams shoulder to make him sit on the sofa and then taking a seat with him. "Are you a kid throwing tantrums, hmmmm?"

"I am just doing my duty like a keeper should do. " He said Looking towards the door, crossing his hands on chest with a red face.

"Okay, I am sorry Adam. Now what do you want, bowing, Kowtow or swat?" He asked in a coaxing voice but his question was damn serious. He would do that, if it could finish the argument. "Or do you really want me to cancel the activities?"

"What are you talking about?" he asked, widening his eyes and mouth open like a fish. "Are you mad, how could you bow in front of me?" Like saying was not enough he started shaking his head as a big no.

"No, I am sorry Leo I shouldn't use my authority to force you, it's cheating." he replied with Pain in his voice. He was so immersed in the secrets of Valerie that he forgot about the reason behind his authority.

"You always tell me, I am too busy being a keeper, that I forgot being your friend. But what about you Mr Leo Smith? you are also too busy being guilty that you forget about our friendship, Hmph" he said, still shaking his head with a disappointed look on his face. He still couldn't believe Leo was blaming himself for dragging him into this mess. "Fine let's just forget about what happened. ok?"

"Hmmmm" Leo replied, hugging him.

This was the scene seen by three ladies when they entered the office after knocking a few times but getting no response. They were none other than three secretaries under Leo, Mrs. Delilah, Valerie and Ellie Miller. While the other two were habitual of this scene, as they have seen both boys since childhood .. they knew that they both were closer than siblings. The third one with her unique mind came to a wonderful conclusion. 'oh so that's why my charms didn't work on him. No wonder, who would have thought that the best male, the one who was fawned by girls was actually interested in men.' she giggled at her own discovery. 'if he wouldn't listen to her, she could also blackmail him hmph. Let's see now, what I would do.
