Chapter 37: Chapter 36

"Did you see that?! Quick, quick, take a picture. I can already see the headline," the reporter said.

"Captain Smoker!" Tashigi rushed over to help but was stopped as an arrow fired by Nojiko arrived next to her feet.

"As far as I know, you're not done your fight yet," Nojiko said as Makino approached Tashigi.

Other marine soldiers tried to fight Hakai to help their captain, but like Tashigi, they were stopped by Hakai's crew.

Kaya sent her zombie army after the soldiers, and Nojiko fired at the marine soldiers relentlessly.

"Take a picture of that. Look at that, she wields a scythe and the dead follow her call. Is this a devil fruit ability? Whatever, but all I know is that with all these pictures I'm getting promoted baby!"

The other reporter nodded. "And look at that other one. She's like an archer of the sea."

The reporter didn't know it, but him calling Nojiko an archer of the sea just gave her an epithet. An epithet that would be feared and admired by many in the world.

"Ok you can have this back now." Hakai dropped the weapon beside Smoker as he went into the city.

The reporters and residents of the city moved back, making a pathway for him, but one brave reporter confronted him.

The reporter held a notebook in his hand, and a pen with the other. Sweat ran down his back, but this was the perfect opportunity to ask this new and famous pirate a question. He swallowed his saliva as he mustered up the courage to ask a question. "U-Umm... Mr. Hakai, I have a question for you. What's your purpose in coming here and why did you name your crew, 'The Dragon Pirates'?"

Hakai laughed as he kept walking, answering the question while walking, "I came here to look around. Also to get some supplies before going to the Grand Line. For your second question, I named it that because I'm a dragon."

Hakai smirked, making his way to the centre of the town which was where Gol D. Roger was executed.

The reporters hearing his statement had mixed feelings. First because the man who defeated Smoker only came here to look around and resupply and also that he said he was a dragon? They just could not believe that last part, but nevertheless, they wrote it down.

Arriving at the place Roger was executed, it looked exactly the same as it did in the show. He admired it for a few seconds, imagining Roger smiling in the face of death as he started the age of pirates.

Once he was done, he left, going to the town market to buy something that he needed in their travels, a log pose.

Being the closest island to the entrance of the Grand Line, it didn't take long for Hakai to find someone that sold a log pose.

Log poses were absolutely essential in the Grand Line as normal compasses don't work in the Grand Line because of special magnetic waves that are emitted from each island. The Log Pose is used by recording these magnetic waves and pointing to them so that the user can travel to that island.

Hakai bought a simple log pose, buying an extra one as back up as he placed it into his pockets and secretly put it in his dimensional storage.

Along with the log pose, Hakai also bought himself some other stuff. He bought pieces of fabric that were supposedly the best of the best, of course he was doubtful, but after using observation haki, he found that the man was only lying slightly. The fabric wasn't the best of the best, but it was one of the best which he was fine with since he didn't need the best materials, only good ones because he was planning to make extra clothes.

As he continued shopping, Makino, Kaya, and Nojiko joined him, finished with fighting the marines. The girls wanted to buy some fancy clothes and some not so safe clothes that seemed to show a bit too much.

"Can I get this one? Come on it'll be perfect. I mean you like my ass right and this'll be perfect," Makino said, giggling as he teased Hakai.

"It is perfect, but why buy it when I could just make it for you? I could even make it better!" Hakai said as dirty thoughts flooded his mind.

Nojiko and Kaya also asked for a few clothes with Nojiko asking for some casual clothes and Kaya asking for pretty, and cute clothes.

Since everyone wanted clothes and he was going to make some anyway, Hakai just bought some more fabric and then they were done shopping.

The girls were a bit disappointed that they couldn't get new clothes, but they looked forward to what Hakai was going to make them, giving their own suggestions to what he should make.

They returned to their ship, ignoring the reporters that asked questions as they set off for the entrance of the Grand Line, Reverse Mountain.

Reverse Mountain is a tall mountain that has 4 currents ascending it with 1 current descending into the Grand Line. Hakai hoped that everything would be fine once they reached Reverse Mountain, but he had a backup if something went wrong.

---

The next day, news got out of what took place in Loguetown and Hakai and his crew's fame rose. All major newspapers were telling people about what happened in Loguetown, even the ones in the Grand Line.

The marines obviously did not like this. They quickly issued a new bounty for Hakai and his crew, breaking the record of the highest bounty of a pirate crew before reaching the Grand Line.
