Aro's POV
After we had finished burying Ren. Zach picked me up and carried me back to his big home. I knew I would not be able to walk back myself since I was so drained from the previous events that had happened. I cuddled deeper into Zach's chest and fell asleep to him rocking me as he walked. I was awoken by a few soft voices whispering in room. I laid there pretending to sleep as I heard the voices say talk about me.
" Aro needs to stay here, its the only way for me to protect her." I pinpointed Zach's whisper at the other two voices.
" Would I be able to stay here too. Now that I found Derek as my mate?" I sensed Ash's panic voice.
" Of course, you are staying. You will never leave my sight now that I have found you." I figured the other voice was Derek with how he talked about Ash.
"Yes Ash, you are free to stay here and have any room you like or you can stay in Derek's. If that is what you choose." Zach was reassuring me that she would be near me too while we figured out what we would do in the upcoming weeks in my new home.
"Aro, we know that you are awake. No, need to pretend anymore." Zach came over and cradled me to his chest. I opened my eyes and smiled at his closeness. I inhaled his scent into my lungs and relaxed in his arms. I looked up and gazed into his gorgeous emerald green eyes.
All I could do was start at Zach. I had never felt this kind of admiration not since my mother died, and now that I have found my mate. I knew I would be loved for eternity. I raised out of Zach's arms so I could go to the bathroom and shower. As I walked to the other door that was located on the far side of the room. I opened it and stepped through letting my hand slide against the wall looking for the light switch. I soon find it and switch the light on. I gasp at the size and how beautiful it was. There was a full length mirror by the door with a marble sink next to it with different types of soaps and lotions. There was a vintage claw foot tube that could hold three people comfortably, a walk-in shower that was the length of a normal size bathroom covered in smooth marble stone. The shower was exquisite as I turned it on and let the water heat up. I started to undress not noticing that the towels that were around the room were emerald green like Zach's eyes. I giggled as I got into the shower and found that the water was coming straight down in the center from the biggest shower head I had ever seen. I washed and scrubbed every inch of my body to get all the aches and pains out of my muscles. After a good half hour of thoroughly washing myself. I turned the water off and grabbed a two green towels. One for mu hair and the other for my body. As I walked back toward the mirror. I found a hairbrush and started to carefully untangled my hair. Once I had my hair smooth and tangle free. I braided my hair and tied the end with a green ribbon. As I looked around the bathroom I had this confused look as I thought where are my clothes. Just then I heard a light knock at the door. I opened it slightly and say Ash holding a stack of clothes in front of me. I opened the door a little wider so I could grab them from her. After she left I closed the door and got changed into the matching green bra and underwear. I found a pair of dark blue boot cut jeans that were form fitting just how I like them in the pile of clothes, and a red long sleeve shirt to hide my scars on my upper body. I did not know when I would be able to wear dresses or tank tops again.
I walked out of the bathroom. Zach was sitting on the couch at the foot of the bed waiting for me. His hair was wet and he was dressed in faded blue jeans that hung on his hips, and a gray button down shirt with the top two buttons undone. I looked him up and down a few times liking what I had standing in front of me. Zach interrupted my thought as he laughed.
"Do you like what you see?" He deeply spoke as he watched me lower my head blushing. He walked over to me and placed a finger under my chin tilting my head up to look at him. I was now peering into his sexy green eyes.
"Do not hide from me princess. I would never hurt you or have you do anything that you are not comfortable with. Please trust me and understand that." I heard the pain in his voice as he spoke and I watched his eyes get darker as he looked down at my lips. We were standing only inches apart. I begged him in my mind to kiss me, but he looked away and took my hand as he walked me out of his room.
Zach guided me down many flights of stairs to a big elegant kitchen that had dark marble countertops and dark brown cabinets lining the upper part of the walls. There was a big island in the middle of the kitchen that already had a whole buffet of food already made. Zach grabbed a plate for me and started to fill his own with pancakes, waffles, hash browns, eggs, bacon, sausage, and a few other things. I filled my plate with waffles, hash browns, eggs, and bacon. I noticed a container of strawberry banana yogurt, and I filled a little bowl of my favorite yogurt before sitting down next to Zach. We ate in silence until Ash and Derek came walking in to eat breakfast too. Ash ate the same as me, and Derek did what Zach did and filled his plate. Ash and I chatted over random things like we always do. I noticed that Zach had been watching me as I was talking and laughing with my best friend. We finished eating pretty quickly.
Zach took me for a walk around the pack territory and introduced me to some of the pack members. They were all nice and excited to have me as their Luna in the future. As we were walking back to the house. I noticed a group of young pups playing, but there was one little one that was just sitting there all sad watching the others play. It reminded me of myself. I do not know why I did what I did, but I never wanted anyone to go through what I went through. I walked over to the young little girl sitting all alone.
"What is your name young one?" I asked her quietly as I knelt next to her so we were even height. She looked at me nervously before she answered me.
"My name is Adela." She said with hope in her eyes.
"Why are you sitting here all alone Adela? Why are you not playing with the other kids? I asked with a confused look. She looked at the group and then back at me.
"They never let me play. They say that I'm not good enough to play with the other pups. Even the adults do not like me playing with there kids." Adela explained the reason and it was like I was looking at a smaller version of me. I looked over at Zach who was watching me I could see he was angry with a few of the pack members, but I turned back to Adela.
" Adela, would you like to come with me and have some fun?" I asked her with a smile on my face. Her eyes grew wide and nodded her head yes. I held out my hand and she took it. I helped her to her feet.
We walked back to the house where we played games, watched Disney movies, and ate junk food all day. I got to know Adela and found out that her parents died in an accident with another pack so she was an orphan here in the pack. She had a pack member taking care of her, but no other family. I made a mental note to talk to Zach about it later. As the day was ending Adela had fallen asleep on the couch in Zach's room. I picked her up and placed her on the bed so she was extra comfy. I did not hear Zach come in the room as I tucked Adela under the blankets and smoothed her hair out of her face. Zach startled me by placing his arms around my waist as he drew me close to his chest hugging me.
"I called the pack orphanage that we have told them that Adela would be staying here permanently." Zach whispered in my ear. Tears started to well up in my eyes. I turned to face him and looked up in his eyes to see all the love in them green eyes that I love so much. I stood on my tip toes and drew his face close to mine as I placed my lips on his and kissed my mate.
"Thank you, she is the greatest thing in the world. I wish she had friends though. She reminds me of me when I was little with nobody to play with and no one to talk to." I explained to him and found he was listening intently to every word I said and it made me happy to have him to talk to and get closer to.
It was late by the time we both went to bed that night. I was happy to have Adela leave here with us. She needed a home a someone who wanted to love and take care of her. I crawled into bed next to her and cuddled her to my chest as Zach slept on the couch that night. I feel asleep with a smile on my face.
