Chapter 7: Anxiety
2B's POV
"They'll be here in a week or a week and a half." said Argon
I nodded and watched the clouds above us start to huddle up. Then a thunderstorm roared in the sky and rain started pouring onto me. I sat on the same roof we always practiced while leaning against the beast lord sword.
"What kind of sword do you have?" asked Argon
"I usually equip a Virtuous Contract." I replied
"I remember Creed explaining to us the day he got his sword." said Argon
I looked up at him and he was cleaning his sword, an ancient overlord.
"He said that he learned that it was called faith." smiled Argon, "And ever since he learned that it was called faith, he never lost faith in any of us."
I smiled and nodded.
"I wanted him to use a YoRHa issue blade but he didn't really like it. He like faith more than any sword I picked out for him." I said
"I see, he's a very skilled swordsman." said Argon, "You should teach others in my camp, we could use it."
"Sorry but I only teach Creed." I replied
"Ah." he replied
He continues cleaning the blade while sitting in the rain until he looks up.
"I've been worrying about this though." said Argon, "But, Creed's human and you're an android."
"Is it the fact that we're different that worries you?" I asked
"No, I understand that but Creed's not immortal like you." said Argon
I've thought about that, Creed's a human which means he's eventually going to die of age. This thought broke my heart entirely, how am I going to continue my life without him?
"Oh sorry, but it's been on my mind ever since he said you were an android which was recent." said Argon
"He never mentioned that I was an android?" I asked
"No, but when he did he said he never saw you as an android." said Argon
My smile works up on my face and I chuckle a bit but quietly.
"Creed loves you, a lot." continued Argon
I couldn't help but smile.
"I know he does." I replied
"Oh and by the way." said Argon as he took a bite from his food, "Creed was talking about this other girl who has feelings for him."
I immediately threw my sword at his food in his hand and he looked scared.
"Never mention that in front of me." I growled
Argon looked scared but nodded.
"Creed told me you were scary, now I understand." Argon tried to laugh it off.
I glared at him and he scrambles back and runs away to Mia. I summoned my sword back and put it away and continued to sit in the rain.
But then I felt the floor tremble and I sat up and looked at the ground and saw Kong joining us. Kong looked up towards me and waved so I raised up my hand then jumped off the roof and landed next to him.
"Why is it here?" I asked
Anemone pointed at something and I looked at the direction she was pointing at and I saw the entire machine village passing by us.
"Pascal." I called out
"2B, how have you been?" he asked
"Could be better." I replied
"How's Creed doing?" he asked
"He's doing fine." I said but I wasn't sure for myself
"I told Pascal to stay with us so that he can stay safe." said Anemone
"I see." I replied
"We'll be helping with the battle that's coming up ahead. We can't fight so we'll be taking care of the wounded." said Pascal
"We appreciate everything you're doing for us." I said
Creed's POV
"Why is it fucking raining?" I cursed under my breath
I put on my hood over my head and walked through the muddy jungle. Now, our chance of finding humans has become thinner.
'The rain's most likely going to fuck up the evidence and tracks.'
"Nothing, I can't find anything because of this rain." said Josiah
"But I remember this place, it was where I found the gun and ammunition. I remember because this tree has a scratch mark on its trunk." said Tory
I checked the scratch marks but it looks like it was from an animal.
"Let's keep moving." said Koi
Koi turns to leave but she then notices something in the mud and bends down.
"What is it Koi?" asked Ken
She grabs something from the mud and pulls it out, and shows me some kind of cloth. I grabbed the cloth and examined it, there were blood stains on the cloth and it looked like it was here for about 5 days.
"We got something, we have to keep moving." I said
I pulled my scarf up above my mouth and we kept walking deeper into the jungle. That's when Apollo suddenly raised up an arm signaling us to stop.
"What is it?" I asked
"Something's above us." he whispered
I slowly pulled out my pistol from my holster and cocked it while signaling Josiah and the others to get ready. I quickly aimed my gun and shot it randomly to scare whatever was up there, but when I looked at the branches it was just a damn monkey.
"What is that thing?" asked Ken
"A monkey, it's an animal." I said
Everyone sighs so we continue to go deeper into the jungle looking for clues.
"Let's please get something useful." sighed Evan
Ethan walking in front trips over something and falls to the ground.
"Ethan you good?" I asked
"Yea, yea but what did I just trip over?" asked Ethan
He gets up and looks down and his mouth drops open.
"It's, a body." said Ethan
I quickly approached him and in the grass, there was a dead male laying there. I checked his body and he died about 5 days ago.
"Fuck." I groaned in frustration
But then I noticed something, his body position, it looked like someone laid him down here and crossed his arms on his chest. I searched through his pockets until I found a book in his pocket that was soaked because of the rain. I continued searching for something like his dog tag but I didn't find any dog tag.
"What was the cause of his death?" asked George
I searched around but nothing seemed wrong with him.
"I can't tell, he either died from sickness or some kind of poison." I said
I looked at his shoulder and saw an SAS patch on it.
"George, he's one of yours." I said
"I don't recognize him at all." said George
I sighed and handed the soaked journal to George.
"We have to keep going, I think he wasn't alone." I said
Everyone nodded and we kept heading deeper into the jungle.

3 days later
Creed's POV
We were in some kind of desert but at the same time there were trees in some parts. I stood on a dune and the cool breeze blew against me, my cloak flapping off my left arm. I looked up and saw a group of birds flying towards the direction we were headed to.
I sent my hawk a day ago and now my hawk is hovering over me so I stuck out my arm and took out the note from its ankle and read it to myself.
"We don't know how many machines you faced back there but according to Mia and Argon they said that there's at least 10,000 machines coming our way."
'10,000? What the fuck?'
"They'll be here in a week and to be honest I don't know how we're going to hold them off. I know you must be worried while reading this, but please, focus on your mission. If I die then please don't cry and mourn for the rest of your life. I love you, I always will, and you have to find the other humans in order to save humanity. I love you, 2B." I continued reading
My knees buckled and the paper began to get wet from the tears coming out of my eyes.
"No, damn it I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't keep my promise." I sobbed
I collapsed onto my knees and sobbed into my hands. I quickly pulled out a piece of paper and started scribbling words onto the paper.
"No matter what happens, please stay alive. I'll be there with the humans I promise. Please stay alive. I don't know what I'm going to do without you."
I put the note on the ankle of the hawk and set it flying. Once it flew away I ran back to my group and wiped my tears away.
"We're leaving, we have to find the other humans and get back home." I said
"Your home or our home?" asked Josiah
"Both, George did you get anything?" I asked
"Yea, he was with another SAS and this was like 5 days ago. He has to be like a day away at most." said George
"We have to find him." I said, "Get ready to leave."
Everyone nodded and started to pack up their things, I grabbed my sword Faith and put it on my back on my vest and loaded my rifle and cocked it. I pulled out my pistol and checked my mag and loaded and cocked it and put it back in my holster.
"Oh, Creed look what I found over here." said George
He showed me the book and in it was a mini map from the factory where George was held in to the desert where we found Tory to the jungle we found the body in to the place we were currently at and much more.
"How did he get all of this, he died at the jungle." said Apollo
"Because they came back." said Josiah
"That's right, they came back to the pods to get something." I said, "Let's go, having a map gives us a huge advantage. If we don't find them by tomorrow, the search is over."
"What why?" asked Josiah
"My home is in trouble and I need to go back as soon as possible or there will be no more home." I said
All of the androids in my group looked worried so they nodded and we left, following the map.
'I swear on my life I'll be back home soon. Please stay alive 2B.'
