Chapter 33: xxxiii
The wind blew harshly through my fur as I ran through the forest. I know I was making a big mistake, but I couldn't help it. I couldn't stay at home knowing that the loves of my life were out there risking their lives, I couldn't lose. But if I do, then we'll all die together.
My heart pounded against my chest as I continued sprinting. I was scared and anxious, something didn't feel right when I watched the twins and Paul left the house. There was an unsettling feeling, Kamari felt it too. She was aggravated and annoyed, especially when Genesis had forbidden us from going along with them.
I remembered the look on my grandfather's face.

My body shook in anger as I watched the twins leave, "How could he ask me to do this?" I growled, pacing around in the living room as my grandparents looked at me with softened eyes, "They're just trying to protect you, sweetie, it's an instinct for them," Melody said as her words angered me even more, "What about me?! Their safety and lives matter to me too! We're a unit, I'm supposed to be out there with them!" I yelled as tears streamed down my face.
Silence filled the room as my grandparents watched as I cried out of mixed emotions. I felt like I was under an intense form of suffocation. I couldn't stay here. My grandfather seemed to notice the look in my eyes as I stared into space.
"Then what are you waiting for?" He asked, snapping me out of my thoughts as I looked at him along with Melody, "What?" I asked with furrowed eyebrows, "What are you waiting for, if you think that they're in danger then go after them, and hurry because time is ticking, Rosalie," he said as I looked at him before nodding.
"Please be careful," Melody pleaded as tears welled up in her eyes, "Please take care of my grandfather," I embraced her before leaving.

Running through the forest, Kamari let her senses lead her to the twins. She had run past the tracks to the hideout and ended up in an unfamiliar part of the forest. There was no breeze, it was completely still as she slowed down, and it felt depressing. The colors of the trees, their leaves, the flowers, and the bushes looked dull and lifeless. There were trees broken from their roots or in half, some with holes in their trunks and some with deep claw marks carved within them. Kamari walked, looking cautiously around her surroundings.
"What happened here?" Rosalie asked as Kamari continued to explore the unfamiliar area, unaware of the pair of red eyes that watched her every move.
"Major told me about this place, this is just outside of the square where the wolves of Queensland battle for the Alpha's title, but it hasn't been used since Marcus became Alpha because they were all afraid to battle him until he challenged your father," she explained as Rosalie gasped, "This was my father's fight, this is what drove him out of Queensland?" She whispered before Kamari perked up as the familiar scents filled her nostrils.
"I got their scents, Rosalie, they're in the square," she said, sniffing the air before growling, "They're not alone, there are more wolves, a lot more," she said as Rosalie's voice caught her attention, "Something doesn't feel right, Kamari," she said as she felt eyes on her, "What's wrong?" She asked before freezing in her spot as she felt another presence.
"Rosalie? Where are you, your scent it's very close?" Genesis asked as the sound of his voice in her head, made her melt in relief, "Genesis? Thank God, Kamari and I are in the forest, we came to hel-
"NO!, Rosalie, you need to get out of there NOW! RUN KAMARI, RU-
Genesis's words were suddenly cut off when something all of a sudden rammed forcefully into Kamari, sending her flying across the forest, and into the trunk of a tree before she dropped unconscious on the ground. Upon seeing her motionless body. Mateo walked out from the hiding place and walked toward Kamri with mischief laced in his eyes.
"Finally, you're mine," he said before nuzzling against her fur.

Rosalie was right about Mateo's expectations, when the twins and Paul arrived, they were outnumbered by a lot, with the presence of Mateo and Cora, which angered Paul, but they didn't give up, it's not like they had a choice.
It was vicious, bloody, and deadly. Wolves were coming in from all directions, left, right, front, and back, attacking under all circumstances. When all of a sudden, Blake disappeared, "Where did he go?" Giovanni asked as he began searching for Blake until he caught that familiar, sweet-smelling scent. The scent gave him strength but also angered him as he growled, "Genesis, Rosalie's here, she followed us," he said as Genesis growled at him before going silent.
Wolves were still coming at them as Paul and Giovanni tried their best to hold them off, while Genesis tried getting a hold of Rosalie.
"Rosalie? Where are you, your scent it's close?" He asked as her voice immediately filled her head, "NO! Rosalie, you need to get out of there NOW! RUN KAMARI, RU-
Genesis's blood went cold as he felt the bound go cold, "Rosalie? Rosie, can you hear me? KAMARI?! He yelled, then howled, but there was no response. Genesis's wolf whimpers, alerting his brother, who looked at him before growling.
"Rosalie could be in danger and I wasn't there to protect her."
Those thoughts were running through Genesis's head as he grew angrier and angrier until he snapped when he saw Blake running to attack Giovanni from behind. Everything happened so fast that it brought silence to the area.
Genesis had jumped over his brother, launching at Blake with his jaw wide open, latching onto his neck, and immediately locking his jaw.
The others watched in fear as Genesis continued to attack. They were all terrifyingly shocked and could practically feel the rage radiating off of Genesis as he began to rattle Blake like a dog toy before the most unimaginable thing happened.
"WHERE. IS. SHE?" Genesis aggressively yelled, "She's long gone," Blake breathlessly replies, earning a painfully loud growl, "Wrong answer," Genesis said before digging his paws into Blake's chest, breaking his ribs as he steadied himself.
Blake's loud whimpers echoed throughout the square as Genesis sunk his teeth deeper into his neck before aggressively shaking and pulling before Blake's neck broke and Genesis ripped his head off.
The other wolves stepped back in fear as they watched Genesis walk to the center before dropping Blake's head in front of them. Licking his snout as he growled, his eyes grew darker and darker, "Take that back to your Alpha, and tell him that we're coming for him.

"What is she doing here?" Cora asked, watching as her brother placed an unconscious and naked Rosalie on his bed, "Shut up and get me some clothes for her," Mateo coldly replied, as he covered Rosalie's body with the comforter. Cora's scoff filled the room, stopping all Mateo's action, "I'm not giving her my clothes," she said as Mateo chuckled, "What did you say?" He asked, his voice growing heavier and heavier as Cora stuffed, crossing her arms, "I'm not giving that bitch, my-
Cora's words were suddenly cut off by Mateo's hand that wrapped around her neck, cutting off her airway as her eyes widened in shock, "Watch your mouth when you talk about your Luna, now do what I say and get me some fucking clothes," he gritted before shoving her away as she collapsed on the floor, coughing with her hand around her neck. Tears filled her eyes as she looked up at her big brother, "What the hell is wrong with you?" She asked, standing up before backing up against the door as her voice only angered Mateo more.
"GET THE CLOTHES!!!" He yelled as his eyes turned red, "NO!!" She yelled back before screaming as Mateo launched at her, "You stupid bitch, I should've let that lunatic kill you, but what fun would that be when I could do it myself," he said with his two hands around her neck, pushing her forcefully against the door as he squeezed, "You're the reason my mother is deaf, you needy little whore," he breathlessly said as his eyes grew darker and darker until there was a snap.
Sighing heavily, Mateo dropped his sister's lifeless body on the floor before turning around to find Rosalie had already woken up as she stared at him in terror.
"You're a monster."

"What happened, where's Rosalie?" Benjamin asked as the twins and Paul entered the house, "Gio, Genesis, where is she?" Melody asked, with her hand on her chest as tears filled her eyes, "She's gone, Mateo took her," Giovanni replied as his brother wore an emotionless expression, "And Cora's still alive, she wasn't there with them," Paul said in anger and defeat, earning a dark chuckle from Genesis as he turned to face him, "You know, none of this would've happened if we had listened to Rosalie in the first place," he said as Paul scoffed at his words.
"You were the one who insisted on going with me, maybe you should've listened to your little mate," he said as Giovanni stepped in front of his brother while glaring at Paul, who chuckled lightly in amusement.
"Hey, how about you show some respect, we could've let you die out there, besides, if your naive little sister wasn't out there playing Mrs. Delivery so she could tussle around in the enemy's bed, we all wouldn't be in this entire situation," he said as Paul got in his face, "What did you just say to me?" He asked, earning a smirk as Giovanni stepped closer, so they were now chest to chest, "You heard me, but-
A deep raspy growl suddenly silence the room, sending chills down everyone's spine as the boys turned to Benjamin, who glared at them, "Pull your shit together, my granddaughter is out there because of your foolishness, so I suggest you put your head together and find her, or else I'll put all three of you in the ground," he gritted through his teeth before wheeling away. Melody looked at them in a pleading way, "Please, just find her," she said before following behind Benjamin.
Genesis scoffed, "Fuck you, I'm going to find her and when I do, I'll kill Mateo myself," he said, looking over Giovanni's shoulder at Paul before walking away.
"Kill Mateo, huh? He'll be Alpha, I bet you love that idea," Paul taunted as Giovanni's eyes darkened, "No one's gonna be Alpha because when we finally kill that son of a bitch, we're leaving and never turning back," he said as Paul chuckled, "You think it'll be that easy, once your brother kills Mateo, he'll be Alpha and then I'll take it from him," he said as his smirk falls, causing a smirk to lift on Giovanni's face.
"Why don't you try and get in our way and I'll show you how easy it is."

"You're awake," Mateo said as he came and sat down on the edge of the bed, causing Rosalie to quickly move as far away as she could from him with her knees pressed against her chest and the comforter covering her body, "Stay away from me, where am I?" She asked, earning a sigh, "You're in my room, well our room now, " he said with a smile on his face before it vanished upon seeing Rosalie's tears.
"Why the tears, my love, this is the dream, I'm Alpha, you'll be my Luna, we'll rule over Queensland together, you should be happy," he beamed before cooing as Rosalie shook her head as more tears streamed down her face, "I don't want to be your Luna, I want to go home," she wept as Mateo stood up, "You don't have much of a choice, besides, your precious mates wouldn't be able to find you, this is your new home now, Rosalie," he said before walking to the door as she began to panic, "Wait, you can't leave me in here," she said as Mateo looked over his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, but I can't risk you trying to escape, there are clothes in the closet, I'll send someone to bring you food and water," he said before opening the door, pushing his sister's dead body aside in the process before leaving, locking the doors behind him.
Rosalie began crying as she curled up on the bed, "Don't worry, Rosalie, the twins will save us, I know they will."
