Chapter 2: Thinking about you
Even if I believed this guy, that doesn't mean all of a sudden I am going to start sucking dick. Besides, even if I was gay, I would never be the one giving head, if you know what I mean.
"Look, I'm gonna go take a leak. Don't wait up." I turn around as I hear Derek mumble an "Ok" and continue on to find the bathroom. As I get to the bathrooms there is a smell I know very well. I walk into the bathroom and there, sitting on the sink counter are 2 guys smoking weed.
I walk right up to them because I am going to try to start a conversation but then chicken out and instead wash my hands. As I am doing this I think of some things to say. One of the guys who has on glasses that look like bigger Harry Potter glasses starts talking to me. "Ay, Yo, you got somewhere to be?"
I look up at him and smirk, "Nah, I ain't got nowhere to be. But if you want me gone, say the word." I look at him making sure not to break the eye contact even though the smoke is getting in my eye.
"No, no. I was asking because I was wondering if you wanted a hit. Teachers will be here in..." He checked his watch. Nice to know I'm not the only spider-man fan at this school. "about 2 more minutes if you wanna."
"Hey man, I would but it is my first day so, I can't really get in any trouble, my-I just can't today. See yuh." I walked out of the bathroom and as I was leaving it looked like I could see a teacher walking toward my general direction.
I turned around and said, "Uhm, a teacher is heading your way I'm pretty sure." I didn't even wait for a reply before I bolted, making sure she didn't see me leaving. It was going to be different here, I could already tell.
Once school was over I texted my foster mom I was going to go to a cafe. This cafe will be the place I got to "study" until they dump me back into the system. I do this at every place I can. I get a job, save up the money so that when I turn 18 I will have something to get me started.
Foster mom #23: Sure thing! Make sure to be home by 10:30. Let me know if you are going to be coming home in time for dinner
Me: I probably won't but I'll let you know
After walking for about half an hour I have been in 5 different cafe's and a movie theater. I have about 3 applications now. The movies, Pine Cafe, and Coffee House. I filled them all out and am going to see what interviews or just straight up jobs I get.
"Yo dude! whats up!" I heard someone say something and I turn toward the road. I see 3 guys I have never seen before and then Derek.
"Hey guys, whats good." I say in a flat tone. I don't even bother to smirk because I am just gonna head "home" now.
The person who says anything is the passenger of the front seat, "we were bout to head to Dereks house, you wanna come?"
"Sorry boys. Not this time. I was actually just about to head on home."
Alright then let us give you a lift." I looked at them one more time, seeing if I should. I decided no.
"Its all good, I live pretty close by anyways. See you around" I put in headphones and pretended to listen to music until they just drove away.
Then I remembered that I was supposed to let Samantha know I was gonna be home.
Me: Actually I think I'm gonna head your way now. See ya in 20.
I put my phone in my pocket and started to walk. I didn't even pull it out to see what Samantha said.

I opened the laptop I got last night after dinner and checked my email. I texted all the places I applied my email if they were interested and sure enough the movie theater place got back to me pretty quickly
Dear Mr. Evens,
Thank you for sending us your email! We hope you are having a wonderful day. We reviewed your application and you would be perfect for our part-time position that opened up just yesterday. Thank you for your time, and application. Come by as soon as you can to pick up a uniform and name tag.

I stopped reading and shut the laptop. Looks like I got work to do.
After getting ready for school I quickly ran out and soon enough I had an official job at the movies.
I really wanted to tell someone I finally got a job that might not be boring, but I had no one to talk to. Don't get me wrong, I make friends wherever I go. I just don't keep in touch with them.

The walk to school is always so boring. Maybe I should have walked with Derek. No, he kind of freaks me out. I'm glad he is a loyal friend and never excludes me, I'm just not sure that I want to be included. I know this makes me sound selfish or something but I don't care. I just like all the cool stuff I get because of this place.
Okay, here is what we are going to do. Socially distance myself from people. I don't need to be around people. And when I am I'll just stay quiet unless people talk to me. This is plan is going to work.
"Woah...hey man watch it!" I was so lost in thought I didn't see this guy walking toward me. Still his fault though.
"Sorry, I looked back for a second and I bump right into you. Sorry again. Have a nice day." I looked up and damn! This guy is like, 6'6". If this guy got thought it was my fault, I would have died.
"No, I'm sorry for being so rude about that. You too man." I walked away making sure to look forward rather than down. No trying to do that again today.
