Chapter 38: You Aren't Alone

Amora and Aya exited the house. Aya had lied to Reyon and Leon, telling them that she was just going to bring Amora to a park to chill out and talk.

Instead, however, they went to a smelly, trash-filled side of the town that led to the city.

Upon searching the first location, Amora could only find garbage and some old sleeping bags. The next location, she couldn't find anything either. So she went to where Aya would be and watched as she exited as well.

"Nothing?" Amora asked with a sigh afterward, to which Aya just shook her head.

"Well, have Reyon and Leon left for the city yet?" Amora asked.

Aya checked her head and denied it. "Nope. We better hurry back to get to the city and explore more. We have to find him." Aya said, hoping to agree with Amora and stay on her good side.

They ran home and Amora didn't say a word to Aya at all.

Aya and Amora got into one car, Aya only now realizing that they could use one car only, having lost... three people...

The city was a long ride and despite Reyon and Leon's commands to stay with them, Aya and Amora wandered off. Exploring the sites Amora suspected, finding homeless people in most, but not Tasaku. Amora was fed up and was kicking a garbage can until it was dented, Aya tried her best to calm her down during the garbage can attack.

Amora sighed, tired from her breakdown. She began to just walk around the city with Aya, thinking to herself. Aya knew Amora was stuck.

She grabbed Amora's hands and made her turn to look at her, she felt herself beginning to cry.

"I know... okay... I know you are struggling, but please don't lose sight of yourself... I want to help you, I don't want to lose anyone else... we need each other to survive... we need to find him!" Aya said, wrapping her arms around Amora, holding her tightly and crying harder. Amora seemed to snap and began crying as well, she held Aya and Aya had felt she had somewhat brought Amora back.

"I'm sorry, I've just been so focused on finding Shirley and Tasaku, before it's too late." Amora said, smiling weakly, wiping her tears and looking around. "Want to keep looking some more? Maybe we can find something?" Amora asked, knowing she wouldn't.

"Yeah, I don't see why not." Aya said, also wiping her tears and smiling. Amora and Aya walked away, looking through dumpsters for evidence of where Tasaku could be. Amora all-the-while had been ignoring the other version of her, which was speaking to her in it's distorted tone.

"Cody died alone, You killed Andrew, and now Shirley is gone. It's your fault for being weak, so let me take control. I'll show you my skills." The voice growled out, Amora kept smiling, keeping a positive mindset to preserve her good mood. As she was smiling she could see someone run into an alleyway.

It looked to be... Shirley.
