Chapter 19: Chapter 19

"Sir Derrick…" Called her as she opened the door from inside her room. Slowly, revealed herself in between the massive door.

"My Lady." The beautiful knight perked up like a puppy. "You are early."

The promise between them was in between 10 o'clock but it's only 9 p.m right now. It was considered earlier than the promised time.

"I- I can't be early?" She exercised her charm as usual. Well, a personal tip for the people out there, if you know you are cute, use it to your own advantage. That's the only way to survive this harsh world.

"Oh. You definitely can, My Lady. We can see the beautiful garden at night. The duchess has renovated some of part of the garden."

"Really?" She jumped excitedly. Once in a while, she should act like all the five-year-old kids that ever existed in this whole world. It's a service for her people, yeah.

"Well then," he offered his hand that the lady gladly took.

They walked in silence with her pace. Elizebeth was not the usual lady of the house. Some five-year-old girls are still being held by their knights. Different from the rest of the kids, Elizebeth only let her be held when she had to. She wouldn't let anyone hold her, even the duke and the duchess. She was quite firm with her decision and the parents both respected her wish, habitually.

The sight of the bright garden came in view only after five minutes they were walking. The garden was a shade brighter shone by the colorful magic stone. The magic stone was the gift from the neighbor dukedom kingdom to maintain a good relationship between two kingdoms. The garden was described as a formal garden amongst many. This section possibility would be a future gathering place.

The bonsai trees lined the perfect lawn in their wooden boxes. It was not a secret that her mother cherished bonsai the most. Mother received the first bonsai tree from one of her envoys from outside the kingdom. She loved it and bought the bonsai at the same place ever since. Her mother went as far as visiting the bonsai owner to communicate closely to the owner and shared their interest.

In the corner of the garden, there was a pond as large as a small lake with flowering lily pads and a few more decorations around it. She was too lazy to describe all the details.

Anyhow, the details of the garden were so obvious. The arrangement of one type of tree around them was rather an impressive clue. Her mother wanted to booze the bonsai's name in society. She wanted to introduce the tree to her associates. It was so blatantly obvious. She was blind if she didn't see it.

The garden benches were one of a kind as well. The garden bench was fashioned from a wind-felled tree, the legs being sections of the trunk still clothed in the bark and the top was a fine long plank rendered a deep soulful brown by the varnish. The society fancied the rock garden benches instead of wooden. It would be a nice chance soon enough. She was certain.

In silence, she sat at the benches. The appearance was nothing but the bench was considered sturdy and safe. Sir Derrick sat beside her as requested by her right after she sat. They did nothing but sit silently. Even if sir Derrick is on high alert in their surroundings, Elizebeth started to ponder about her dream. It was something inside the dream she couldn't grasp yet.

As a matter of fact, she feels the sense of deja vu even now. She hated to be in the dark. Did she feel like she'd already experienced those events before or at least maybe she did? Was she a returnee? Did she regress yet again? The transmigration was not enough and now a regression? What a joke… or not.

"The line is blurry here, bro." She spoke to herself, heedlessly attracting the attention of Sir Derrick.

The knight just glanced at her for a mere second before returning to his duty. Looking out for his young miss as he was aware Elizebeth tended to talk to herself loudly, unconsciously. The cute traits that everyone knew but no one pointed it out not because they were scared. It was so endearing and sometimes they could glimpse into her mind. It's killing two birds in one stone, in a way. Periodically, she would use some foreign words that no one could decipher.

"Ain't this tricky, sis? I swear to god it's deja vu at this point. BuT WHAT?" Elizebeth caressed her own chin, furrowed her brow, and showed that she was in deep thinking.

Derrick took a glimpse to check his master for the last time.

"Yo, what the fudge. My mind is getting dizzy." She crossed her legs like a man and munching the air. She was truly unaware of her surroundings now. The manner she learned before went like a wind.

Derrick bolted away from her and stood a few meters away from her in the pretext of checking around to decrease the level of shame once his young lady was sane enough to care about the world. She was already disconnected from the world.

Her thinking deeper. Searching for any tiny piece of information. It was impossible to have a deja vu unless she experienced it beforehand. She needed to find it inside her brain and crack the code. If it wasn't, she still needs to have a new plan. She needed to find a solution for the future. She had a few years ahead before the event. The life of her family is at the...

She buffered for a while. "... Shoot!!!!" She remembered now. It clicked inside her brain so suddenly like a lamplight. It's flickering on and off. She instinctively stomped the grass hard, enough to make a sound, and rose in a split second.

Sir Derrick that around her could not decide either to come to rescue the lady in damsel or just pointedly ignored her. Her action tonight wasn't normal at all. This wasn't the young lady that he knew at all.

"Unite the kingdoms. Fudging hell!" She shouted in distress. "I'm in the flipping book what the fudge?" She figured it out. "What the fudge. I know I'm here for a purpose. I knew God wouldn't let me have an easy ride. Freaking hypocrisy. What the fudge? I mean what's wrong with everything?" She freaked out. Cussing out everything. She thought she was speaking inside her head and ignoring sir Derrick that started to worry about her.

"My- My Lady?" sir Derrick tried to intervene.

"Not now, sir Derrick. I'm currently in a crisis. I need time to think. Go take a walk or something, won't ya?"

The harsh words mixing with a foreign style of wording jolted Derrick at his place. The young lady is weird tonight. She was acting like a girl who had lived for more than 20 years. And the way she said sounded offensive as if she was talking to her underling rather than her beloved knight.

"What's up with the title, for fudge's sake. Ain't chill at all." She roasted someone that Derrick never knew who. He hoped he wasn't the one to be the receiver end. He was supposed to be her favorite. He was a good knight for her. What with the sudden change of attitude?

With the last lash out of her, Derrick ran off far away from her, still in the area to guard the young lady.

"Shooot! Shoot! Shoooooooot!!!" She exaggerated sigh exasperatedly. "Calm down, Olivia. You still got time to fix everything. The weakling Elizebeth is no more. It's you now in this body. You can do this… shoot." She gritted her teeth. Sat once again and folded her arms across her chest. Thinking deeply.

She knew the book well. Too well in that matter. It became her night textbook each day to make her fall asleep. She read it until she was 10-year-old. When her father declared his bankruptcy, she left the book alone, since then. She was too busy to stay afloat. The financial problems that she faced ever since put her in difficulty which later developed insomnia because she was constantly worried about the money.

Anyhow, the book was talking about the crazy king assassinating the kingdoms around and created an empire for himself in sheer boredom. He then stole one of the kings' queen due to his obsession and the queen was coincidentally her. Elizebeth.

They met under the oak tree. This stupid girl gave the unknown man a handkerchief after she saw the man crying and just because of that, it became a drive for the crazy king to fight for her. The ending of the book was whack as well yet she finished a thousand because she had no book to read. She was in poverty. The book was the only English education textbook she could come close to.

"It came down to this, huh?" She inhaled sharply, the cold air hitting her lungs restored her energy. "No easy money in this world, I guess. It's time to use my brilliant survival skill to survive this game, yeah."
