Two years have passed since I was born and I have learned that magic really does exist in this world, also that my race are called the Kenthr and are a warrior race. we just so happen to have very few magicians but the ones that we do have have great power with both weapons and spells. Still, our race has one huge flaw and that is we are hated by all of the magic races in this world.
One of the only magicians of my race is Elder Rune also known as Rune of the Phoenix Fire and is saying that when I am eighteen I should take a exam that the humans call the magicians exam. He said it will test my mana capacity and knowledge then place me in a program that can teach me the best. However, the quality of the education is based solely on power not intelligence. The magic academy Rune said he went to was Huntar institute, he said how there are only three magic academy's i should go to if I have talent Novice,Huntar,Zolentis if at all possible the best of the three is Zolentis.
He stated in order of importance it goes Novice,Huntar,Zolentis. He then said Zolentis is one of the top three academys and also ran by one of us, which confused me as aren't we humans two? I thought we were a sub race like the Nords or the whites. He then stated that although we look alike to the humans, especially the nords we actually are a entirely different race, as we Kenthr possess unique abilities that no race but us have and that when I'm 10 years of age he will tell me what they are.
Also he said if anything happens to him before I make it to the human cities all I have to do is tell one of the dean's "The fifth would be the first if he was the third." he also said its something only the three dean's of the Academy's he mentioned would understand.
I have to wonder what he means by "different race" also why do I see the scales but know one else seems to even acknowledge them, can they not see them, what is my races power.
