Chapter 3: Leifr, curse removal

Blue lay prostrate in the ashes for several days, refusing to leave the one who had raised her. Then she decided to accomplish her last wishes. Forcing the safe, she took its contents and wrapped it carefully, choosing to carry certain items with her, the blades in particular. Passing into the basement that served as her bedroom, she made a light bag taking only a few clothes, adding the rest of the content of the safe and then left, death in the soul. Her last move was to set the house on fire, so no one could ever come and sully Nemhain's memory.

Fearing for her life, she traveled between worlds, leaving this security only to bathe and nibble what she could find here and there. Of the money she had found in the safe, she had made only one purchase: small sunglasses to hide her eyes, her mask having burned when the power overflowed.

On a half-moon night she arrived at her destination. The club sign was shining and she was sure she couldn't get in through the front door: she had no papers or anything to indicate who she was or how old she was.

Choosing a familiar approach, she crept to the back of the building, hoping she could pass without attracting attention. Finding the back door, she wanted to slip inside when a firm hand stopped her, gripping her by the shoulder.

"ttttttt, I don't know where you were going but you won't get any further." The voice was feminine and unaccented, but it had that intonation that betrayed all vampires

Blue froze and turned slowly. The newcomer looked young, no more than 150 years if she believed her necromancy. Not very tall, around five feet tall, blonde with green eyes, she had a slight trace of the radiance that Nemhain had. She could tell that this vampire was one of Nemhain's brother, Leifr's progeny. Biting the bullet, she raised her head slightly and spoke in a low voice, almost breathless:

"I am the messenger, the one from the sea butterfly, and I come to see Leifr on her behalf"

"He does not receive anyone, especially not jokers speaking by enigma."

Blue sighed, she had feared that possibility. Pulling a small card from her pocket, she handed it to the vampire, asking her to hand it to the one she had to see at all costs, then without warning evaporated, leaving a stunned vampire in the parking lot.

A few days later, she saw the vampire she was supposed to see but he didn't seem to be in his right mind: he looked disoriented, lost, not recognizing anyone, not even the vampire who had stopped her a few days earlier. Following them, she waited for the right moment to approach them. That came up faster than expected, but she preferred to play it safe: since she had left the message, strange creatures had been chasing her as if determined to kill her. She had eliminated some without difficulty, others having injured her severely before falling.

Taking advantage of a dark corner, she positioned herself, waiting for them to come up to her. An alarm rang in her mind as the vampire was under a powerful spell. Unveiling herself, she used her necromancy to stop the vampire.

"I can help him… I know how to undo what was done to him… I'm not asking for anything in return… Just for him to be given this." She held out the small backpack containing her meager possessions and the contents of Nemhain's chest. The vampire smirked contemptuously as if to say she didn't believe it.

Without giving her the time to act, Blue positioned herself in front of Leifr and made him kneel. Taking one of the daggers, she slashed her finger and put a drop of blood on each temple and the last in the middle of the vampire's forehead. Without her even realizing it, the smell of magic had invaded the place, as if to prove her point. Saying a few sentences, she drew up a circle protecting the three of them. Then, placing her fingers on the vampire's temples and forehead, tackled what had spoiled him. She worked a long time, only stopping to spit the spell out of the circle as well as a little more blood each time. Finally, her back arched violently, the last vestiges of alien magic making her moan in pain. A stream of blood rose to her lips and she broke the circle to spit out blood and spell a little further. With faltering steps, she walked back to the vampires, sweat beading at her temples. Reaching out her wrist to Leifr, she motioned for him to bite, offering her own blood to get him back in shape.
