Chapter 3: Yuu, I love you
Kawaguchi Rei's POV
It was our graduation day when Yuu suddenly fainted. I was nervous and scared that day, because I don't know what to do, all I could do was tremble nervously. I panicky hold Yuu in my arms, watching his face while he is unconscious.
[Flashback]
Before Yuu fainted and collapsed, I saw that his nose was bleeding. I know Yuu's body is weak and prone to sickness but only now have I seen his nose bleed. Ever since we were little the only sickness he was experiencing was a cold and fever. That's why I was shocked to see his nose bleed. I hurriedly ran closer to him.
"Yuu !!" I shouted loudly when he suddenly fell to the ground.
Everyone was shocked by Yuu's sudden fall while others shouted, panicked and scared because of the blood they saw. All the teachers quickly approached Yuu because of the loud sound caused by his fall and the noise of the students.
I immediately raised his upper body and placed it on my lap as I repeatedly called his name. Fear and trembling are all the things that I could only feel at that time, not knowing what to do and not knowing what is going on.
"Y-yuu please wake up, Yuu." I repeatedly whispered to him while I was trembling, tears suddenly started to fall down my eyes.
I do not know what I should do, what to do in this kind of situation. Yuu always calms me down in such situations but how can he do that if he is the one who needs help. All I did was cry, I was so useless to him while he did so much for me.
"Call an ambulance immediately." Our adviser shouted to the other teachers as soon as she got to where we are.
"Yuu." I said as I tapped his cheeks with my trembling hands to wake him up while my tears are dripping in his face.
"Please wake up." Words I uttered in my mind.
Minami-sensei immediately checked Yuu. She grabbed his wrist and put his finger on Yuu's nose to find out if he was still breathing.
"He's just unconscious. And he's ok, we just need to bring him to the hospital." Minami-sensei said.
"And Kawaguchi, please calm down. You won't be able to think straight if you're too nervous and scared." Minami-sensei continues while she tries to calm me down.
I took a deep breath and calmed myself. The nervousness and fear I had been feeling before was slowly disappearing, but my concern for Yuu was still there. Bad thoughts one by one come to my mind but I try to convince myself that everything will be ok, that he will be ok and everything will return to normal.
I'm just scared because maybe by the time he closes his eyes when he's sick he won't wake up again.
"Relax, the ambulance is already on its way." Minami-sensei said while she's holding my shoulder to comfort me.
"Y-yuu .." I keep on mumbling while crying.
[End of Flashback]
Remembering what happened to Yuu made me worry now because a year already had passed but Yuu is still staying at the hospital. They did not say what his illness was, even Yuu did not want to tell me so only he and his family knew about his illness.
I looked at the time. While remembering what happened from the past, I had the desire to go to Yuu in the hospital. I could not control my worries so I decided to snuck out of our house to go to the hospital where Yuu was.
I arrived at the hospital at 11:45 pm. I slowly and secretly walked closer to the building until I reached the location where Yuu's room was nearby. I stopped in front of it and thought about how to get up and get into his room without anyone noticing me. I looked at my watch, it was already 11:57 in the evening. I looked up and looked at the window of Yuu's room. I thought I would just go up to his room, after all, his room is only on the third floor so I can still climb it. I started to climb but while I was in the middle of climbing when I suddenly heard a voice, I just tried to climb faster but when I reached Yuu's window I heard a shout causing me to let go and lose my balance.
"Five, four, three, t-two and o-on-ne. ARGHHHHH !!! "
"That's Yuu's voice" I mumbled as I fell down.
"I'm sorry I wasn't there." I whispered and tears fell down my face.
I raised my arm as I tried to reach the window of his room.
Then I suddenly lost my consciousness while I was in the middle of falling.

I suddenly woke up and sat down remembering what had happened as I chased my breath.
"Was that a dream?" I mumbled to myself while my heart was still beating fast.
I looked around and realized I was in the hospital, I looked at myself and I was wearing the patient's uniform.
"So that wasn't a dream." I mumbled to myself again.
I held my head because I felt something wrapped around my head. It caused pain as I tried to touch it. I immediately removed the blanket that was wrapped around me and then quickly got up to go to Yuu's room because I could hear Yuu's voice, over and over in my mind, a voice that gives a sound that he's in pain.
When I opened the door, mom came up to me with a surprise look on her face. Wondering why I stood up and trying to go out of the room.
"Where are you going?" Mom asked worriedly.
"I-I just--" I didn't finish what I'm going to say when my brother appeared behind mom and stepped inside the room.
"She's going to Yuuma, mom." My brother said.
"Again with Yuuma, because of him you also snuck out last night." Mom scolded me.
Again my brother answered.
"Mom, just be glad that she's fine." My brother responded.
"She's fine because you followed her but what if you didn't?" Mom asked.
"Look, she's fine. That's more important." My brother said, defending me.
He moved to my side and wrapped his arms in my shoulder. "You owe me one little sis." He whispered to me.
I then lifted my fist so did him and we bumped our fist with a smile in our faces. Well he's always my lifesaver, good thing he's there or I'd be dead by now, I think.
Mom just released a * sigh of relief as she saw us like we planned all of this.
"So, How are you feeling now?" Mom asked.
"I'm fine, it just stings a bit." I said while holding my head.
"Good to hear that." Mom said in relief.
"By the way where's dad?" I asked.
"Busy as always." My big brother said.
"I see." I responded kinda got a bit sad even though I got into an accident he seems not to care.
"Mom, I'm gonna go. I need to check Yuu first. " I said and ran outside my hospital room.
"Be careful not to trip." Mom shouted.
I stopped in front of the door of Yuu's room while gasping for air as I hurried over to him. When I opened the door I saw Yuu's mom as she hugged his father while his father just stared at someone with a shocked expression on his face as if he could not believe something.
I followed the look of Yuu's father who was staring at him as he sat on his bed. He just watched his parents as if he didn't know what was happening as his doctor passed by me at the door.
"Auntie, what's wrong?" I asked worriedly but she didn't respond, she's just there crying non-stop.
"Hey, Yuu. How are you feeling?" I asked worriedly because of what I heard last night.
He just looked at me as if he didn't know me, as if he was thinking about how he would answer my question to him.
"Sorry but who are you?" He seriously asked. You can see in his face that he's really serious, but I thought he's just pranking me.
"Stop joking around Yuu. It's me Rei, your best friend. " I answered while forcing a smile.
"I'm sorry but I don't really know you." He answered.
Because of what he said I suddenly felt pain which in turn brought tears to my eyes. Why did it hurt so much? What's wrong with him? What happened last night?
I suddenly felt random emotions that made my tears to continuously flow.
