Chapter 4: Chapter 4 - Aftermath
Kakashi had caught up with Iruka in search of Naruto and Menma, after a few moments they felt a strong pressure at the direction they were heading to.
As they arrive at the near site they saw Menma carrying Naruto on his back, but they felt something was wrong with Menma's charka as it was in chaos. As Kakashi was surprised that it was a shadow clone
Then suddenly the clone turns into a puff of smoke, they then realize something wrong must have happened to Menma as his clone suddenly disperse.
Kakashi instructs Iruka to stay with Naruto as he left to check the strong pressure that they had felt earlier.
As soon as Kakashi left Naruto had awoken from his daze, seeing Iruka sitting right beside him. Noticing this Iruka asked if he was alright then asked why did he follow the trio's task.
"Sensei... You don't understand" Naruto said
"Everywhere we go we were treated as monsters... Parents would tell their kids to avoid us. But ever since the academy started. Everybody in class acknowledges Menma due to him being smart and strong but they still treat me like am a nuisance. Aside from Menma, nobody cares about me."
Hearing this Iruka felt guilty because he was biased against the twin at first but due to Menma his opinion of them slightly change for the better but he has been trying to avoid Naruto.
Then Iruka finally understands what Kakashi said in their previous conversation after he had as the 3rd Hokage if he could not teach the twins. As he saw himself in Naruto, so he decided that he will be more upfront with the twin.
As he comforted Naruto he then notices a weirdly shaped kunai that had something attached to it. Iruka thought if it was better to hand this over to Kakashi once this issue was over.
-Following Kakashi-(as this was taking place)
Kakashi was close to where Menma was and could see Menma's figure. He was shocked to see Menma was using the nine-tailed fox's charka, then Menma suddenly vanished.
Once Kakashi caught up to where Menma was, he could see 3 kunoichis from Takigakure unconscious tied to a tree. But before he could speak Menma suddenly fainted. he caught Menma just before Menma hit the ground.
Kakashi sigh as he was thinking about how to report this to the Hokage, then he meets up with Iruka who was carrying Naruto while he was carrying Menma back to the village.
He had never interacted with the twins before, but he has seen Menma wandering around the training grounds spying on ninjas that were training.
-Hokage's Office-
After Kakashi drop off Naruto and Menma at the hospital, he then gave his report to the Hokage on the events that had taken place then left.
Hiruzen was shocked to discover that Menma had used the nine-tailed fox's charka at such a young age and used Kage Bunshin no Jutsu which was considered as a forbidden Jutsu. He had looked at the attachment along with the kunai to discover it was information about Konohagakure and sent shinobis to retrieve the 3 Takigakure spies.
Hiruzen contemplates what to do with Menma, over the years he had watched the twin Menma had shown great talent similar to someone he knew.
-Root Headquarters-
"Lord the Danzō the twin were sent to the hospital to get treated"
"Why were they sent to the hospital?"
As the root Anbu reported what had happened to Menma and Naruto, Danzō knew about Menma's talent. But after hearing the report from his subordinate his interest grew more and more into taking Menma on to his root.
In the past Danzō had notice Menma was quite intelligent and talented, In the past Menma had thought that he had covered his tracks to prevent anyone from noticing him spying on the training grounds as he tried to copy or imitate them.
Danzō had requested that Menma should be integrated to his root, Hiruzen rejected that idea as he had promised the Minato and Kushina that he will protect the twin.
As Danzō stares at the recruits that he had gathered. Formulating a plan to draw Menma to join his root, as he looked at two recruits that had been given new names Shin and Sai.
-Back to the Hokage's Office-
On table profiles of the students could be seen as he has already started preparing for teams for future graduates.
On Hiruzen hands was Menma's profile, contemplating who will be Menma's teaching him after he graduates from ninja academy. Only 3 came to his mind; Kakashi Hatake former student of the 4th Hokage who is currently working under as captain of team Ro, Tenzō who can use wood release also working under team Ro, and lastly Jiriaya his former student as well as 4th Hokage mentor.
Two of his candidates are available but are working as Anbu, and one is currently traveling the world for research (wink wink) and espionage. But after giving it much thought he knew that his main concern was the seal, And has decided who train Menma as soon as he graduates.
As Hiruzen stares into the distance.
-Back to the Hospital-
Menma was told that he and his brother will be discharged tomorrow, so he and Naruto had to stay in the hospital for the night.
As Naruto snore loudly as he sleeps, while Menma couldn't sleep at not but because his brother snores.
Menma just couldn't help but think what had happened early. What would have happened if didn't arrive on time, there were many what if's going through his head as he watches his brother sleep. He couldn't help but worry what how will the future change because of him.
Worried about his and Naruto's safety, he knew that if he continues the pace of his training he will be caught unprepared. He had to become stronger, he had to prepare for the unexpected.
And do that he knew he had to learn a specific Jutsu. He was fast with his current understanding of teleportation Jutsu but it still not enough, if compared to the Flying Raijin Jutsu is space-time Jutsu while the teleportation Jutsu was just to enhance his body specifically his speed.
"But how?" he muttered as he thought of ways to approach the Hokage.
