It has been several minutes since the group escaped from the White House. In its entire history since it was built, this was the first time that anyone managed to escape under tight security without any security personnel finding out. Maybe it was too late for them to react accordingly as their targets had already vanished while they were on watch.

Now this group consisting of several assassins from The Hand and Lu Bancheng from the International Contract Agency had found a residential building and broke into one of the apartments so that they could take refuge for the time being.

It was obvious that they had to come up with a plan if they decided to remain in the US. After all, for people like them, it wasn't that difficult to escape unnoticed even when the country's security measures were tight.

Gazing everywhere, the country was silent as everyone was pinned on their living rooms with their eyes glued to their television screens.

Though people were scared that even those that were doing their demonstration earlier had to quit and lock themselves inside their houses.

This was a time of great turmoil that made everyone anxious.

From the fall of the west to the assassination of their president. Even for the fact that the streets leading to the capital were all swarmed with mercenaries, this made the situation in the country to be one like that of the eastern countries.

However, thanks to the timely reactions of the security forces and certified personnel. All those that were posing a threat in any way have been neutralized or they were still on the run as they were still being pursued.

But what everyone was waiting for, was the Lilith Butcher to address the nation.

After May was assassinated earlier today, it was the duty of the Vice president to take over the nation and lead the people. Furthermore, that was what the constitution stated if a situation like this was to befell the country. But given that Lilith entered with a bang and also the next in line for the seat was a coward who always looked down when faced with overwhelming power. He had been just looking over from afar and had already come to a conclusion that he would support whoever took the mantle.

Outside the White House, soldiers were on a tight guard as they seemed more vigilant than ever. They seem to think that something serious always happens again and again even though they try to put their best into action.

A podium had already been set up even before the Z1 invasion. The press was allowed to allocate only two people per media organization.

It had already been bad for groups of unknowns to surround the next president. They didn't want things to go down the same way as earlier today outside the Pentagon.

So the vetting process was long and tenuous. And it was worth it.

After a while, everything calmed down when four women ascended to the podium.

Lilith with her military attire saluted once before standing before the microphones. By her sides, was May and Ailah. And at the back, Rue stood on guard with a powerful smile that made everyone else think that she was mocking them for their misfortune.

No one else was allowed to protect Ailah for certain reasons. One was that they didn't know who instigated May's assassination and they also thought that the mercenaries had some people who were around the president.

That means that they had a leak but in order to expose them, they played it far and safe just for them to strike again.

And also for the fact that only two people passed Project Urgent Terror, and that one of them was Lilith. There was no one who could try to assassinate her without them ending up dead in the end. And no one had enough experience and training to be able to protect her.

Not even the Special Forces soldiers...

It was a long and exhausting conference that made even May feel like she was being tortured.

After all that happened, Lilith forbade any personnel from sitting. It was already disrespectful enough that their president had already been assassinated under their watch. Though they have and will be the laughingstock for the now to the near future... they didn't want to lose any more respect for their fallen leader.

But with this, May noticed that Lilith was a natural on these things. They had gone through roughly of the subjects that she would talk about once on stage. However, she didn't know that she would have a deeper understanding of politics to an extent that even surpassed hers.

This was something astonishing!

May was happy and crazy thoughts passed through her head at that moment. She thought that if she would have been successfully assassinated, then Lilith would have been the best candidate to lead the country.

In her opinion, she had the most extensive military experience than anyone else present. She also knew a thing or two about politics and all that served the government.

From politicians to military personnel, she was a natural.

And she was happy. With this, their plan in uprooting all the thorns from their inner circle would take place without anyone feeling that something was off.

Though they knew that the people who took part in the assassination would be extra vigilant as they knew who Lilith really was, it meant that they would be too perfect on the outside but still engage in their immoral activities under everyone's radar.

They just needed the slightest of evidence and that person would vanish from the face of the earth without anyone knowing.

On another part of the country, Dagon carried Maxwell straight for the nearest standing building structures which were almost two hundred miles away. It was time for her to look after him until he was awake.

For Đeath and Chaos, they had already vanished to the death realm. They couldn't just sit still and bring to themselves attention from unwanted superior beings.

Though Chaos was the one that created everything, it was also left in a vulnerable situation since then and its situation hasn't been getting better ever since then.

For placing a soul imprint on its every creation, enabled the two parties to be conjoined in a way that it still had to release bits of its powers so as to sustain its creations.
