Chapter 20: Just A Failure

Jax stood before the huge orb in the middle of the room. As weird as it appeared, that thing was said to be able to measure and determine his skills and abilities. What was more was that it could also determine the grade of each of his stats. That was a very good thing since he didn't need to find it out himself.

Compared to just learning about his skills and abilities on his own, learning it with the help of a measuring device was much better and more convenient. There wouldn't be a need to have a lot of trial and error to waste his time just to get the full knowledge of his own skills and abilities.

''I just need to put my hand here, right?'' Jax asked with a mutter. He didn't wait for someone's response as he placed his hand on the huge sphere before him.

And when he touched the sphere, it immediately compressed into a small ball glowing in light blue. And then a blue holographic screen appeared before Jax's eyes.

''This is... Oh? So, this is really a high-level measuring device, huh?'' Jax muttered as he was taken aback by the sudden appearance of the blue screen. He didn't believe it at first, but now that he was seeing it with his own eyes, the capability of that measuring device was really top-notch.

It was actually able to display information using a holographic screen, identifying a lot of information about him.

Even back there at his home, a measuring device like this was considered rare and precious. Not everyone had the leisure to use it as they pleased.

''Hmm, let me see...'' Jax nodded in satisfaction as he started reading the information shown on the blue holographic screen.

[Oh? What's this? Your stats are quite strange... How do I say this... It's something good, yet at the same time, something very bad?]

Before Jax could react, the android named No.111 reacted first. She was there beside him, peeking into his stats like some kind of gossiper.

Jax's face immediately went dark. That stupid android seemed like didn't want to give him some space for privacy. What was more, this thing said what was already in his mind. He didn't know whether he should be happy or not at all.

''Can't you leave me alone?'' Jax pushed No.111's face aside. Seriously, why was this thing sticking her nose with him?

[That can't do. I must record your stats since we've used our device on you. So, it's only right for me to see it.] No.111 explained as she shook her head slowly with a faint and sly smile.

''Grr... Fine, fine, just don't bother me too much,'' Jax gritted his teeth in helplessness. He responded and let the other party do whatever she wanted.

With that, he ignored her and focused on reading through the information about him revealed by the system.

[You're a Mage, and surprisingly, your Class has already awakened right from the start, allowing you to gain two skills which is normal. Not bad...]

To Jax's frustration, No.111 spoke again. He wanted to shut her, but she spoke yet again without bothering herself to stop.

[However, your ability is just a Common grade, a complete trash to be precise. Although it's something really rare as it's the so-called All Elements ability renowned for being used by those people in the Sacred Holy Land, there's definitely nothing special about this ability of yours since it's only a Common grade. I almost think that you belong to them. But with this amount of talent, I must be dreaming.]

[How did you awaken such an ability anyway? You're pretty lucky, I guess.]

[I would have been praising you by now if not for the fact that it's just a Common grade. Sigh, too bad.]

[One must know that the grade of an ability determines its potential. Having the lowest grade only means that you don't have what it is to have a good future. You can't belong to the Sacred Holy Land. People there are ridiculously talented.]

[And although you've got an SS grade Perception stat, the others are all very bad. You even have an F grade stat. And Intelligence stat at that? Tch, tch, how disappointing. This SS grade Perception stat might be great for third-rate people, but to someone like us, the Rebels For Freedom which was also considered a superpower even across the entire world, this kind of talent is just common. Our top young talents even have one or two SSS grade stats while the rest of their stats are no less than S grade.]

[Sigh, to sum it all up, you're just a failure. Awakened Class doesn't always mean it's a good thing. It might even mean that you've also awakened trash class-specific skills. Considering your low-grade ability, my guess must be 99 percent accurate.]

[I have decided, I won't record your Character Status anymore. You must be someone who belongs to a lucky third-rate group that received Lady Creator's magnanimous favor.]

Immediately after she said her remarks, No.111 lost her interest as she left and went to sit somewhere. She lay peacefully on her favorite couch and started sleeping.

''...'' Jax's face went completely dark. He couldn't speak a single word at all in response to her. Everything that No.111 told him earlier was something that was already on his mind. Who didn't know such an obvious thing?

If it was just like that, he would be grieving in sorrow right now. His body would be shuddering right now, ready to collapse at any moment.

However, there was something that No.111 left aside.

Jax's darkened face suddenly brightened up. He was having a hard time suppressing a wide smile to appear on his face.

[Huh? What's with that stupid face? Are you even human? If you're done with it, just hurry up and say it. I will send you back right away.] No.111 noticed the sudden change of expression on Jax's face. And it made her feel cringy even when she was an android programmed not to have such a feeling. Did his Character Status disappoint him so much to the point that he was now making such a terrifying face?

Tch! Tch! Kids nowadays surely were strange.

''Please, give me some more time. I want to at least read the description of my skill set.'' Jax replied as if his tone was really gloomy.

[Alright, alright, do whatever you want. Just don't take too long, only to sobber later on.] No.111 replied lazily. After that, she took one good nap just like what she always did.

''Yes, yes, thank you,'' Jax still smiled in response. He really was thankful. Not because the other party allowed him, but because she seemed to not care anymore about his Character Status.

That definitely was a good thing.

With that said, Jax turned to look back at his Character Status. A smile surfaced on his lips again.
