Chapter 1: 1.) Unexpected New Friend
It was just about another boring day after school watching TikToks on my phone for hours. "Man, I'm tired.." I thought to myself, slowly drifting off. "5 more minutes and I'll take a nap.-" I convinced myself to set a timer for 5 minutes, and continued on.
It's been only a minute in when I saw this cosplayer that looked about the same age as me on my for you page, she was cosplaying as Toga from My Hero Academia. At the time I was kind of obsessed with that anime because it was the first anime I've watched, I was pretty much a beginner weeb, I guess.
I decided to look into her account, and when I clicked on her profile she had only 92 followers. I followed her from pity but started to actually enjoy her cosplays and commented on a couple videos. •Ding Ding Ding• That annoying timer went off... I wanted to watch more but I noticed myself blurring out so I set my phone on the charger and took a good 2 hour nap.
When I woke up I went straight to my phone and there were TikTok notifications of that same cosplayer I followed and turns out she followed me back, liked my videos, commented relatable things, and she DMed me saying, "Hi! I saw you followed and kinda stalked my page but that's fine with me I did the same to you lol but I was kind of hoping if you'd like to be friends! You look about my age so I think that would've been ok heh" I started to like her personality already because she approached me nicely and respectfully! "Wow," I thought to myself, "I'm kinda alone in this quarantine, most my friends don't really reply to my texts anymore so I guess I'll start from the bottom and make a new friend" I caught myself smiling for a moment and started typing a reply.
