Chapter 9: Vampire Diaries 7: Immortal Creatures
~ Third Person's Point of View ~
The Vampire's Kingdom began to fill with loud noises as the darkness slowly arising.
Vampires usually gathered at the huge field as soon as the blue, warm sky turned into a gloomy and spooky sight.
Jack was sitting on the throne, waiting for the vampires to arrive.
It was one of their traditions. Gathering under the fascinating sky every first day of the full moon.
They do believe that their strengths will be more potent and strong if they will drink a vampire's blood before the end of the full moon.
It's was a tradition since Jack was born.
"Jack, your brother is coming!" Deros said.
He was one of the vampires who guard the Vampire's King. Deros was one of his old good friend that is why he had chosen him as his protector.
Jack took a deep breath.
He said, "Can you ask him why he wanted to see me?"
Deros nodded.
He possesses the power to talk to someone with the use of the mind. As Deros closed his eyes, he was speaking to Valmer who was walking nigher to the Vampire King's cabin.
As soon as he opened his eyes, Deros said. "Valmer said he wanted to ask you regarding Gray, the grim reaper."
"Gray? He's already arrived from the world of the undead?" Jack surprisingly asked Deros.
Gray was given a mission to visit the World of the Undead. Jack hid the real reason why he sent the grim reaper to the land of the undead. He told him to make a list, noting all the undead's names.
Deros said, "I'm trying to ask Gray but he's with Anastasia. They were playing at the underground with some of the vampires."
"Tell Valmer to come inside." He ordered.
Deros was about to notify the King's brother when abruptly, Valmer appeared from nowhere.
Thus, none of them got surprised. Valmer has the power to walk through the wall, the door and everything that he can pass through.
Deros said, "You're too unpredictable, Valmer. I was about to tell you something but it makes no sense as you are here already."
"Well, blame my unique power Deros."
Valmer gave him an abrupt laugh. Since the first time they have met, Deros and Valmer never agreed to a particular notion. They seemed to be like a cat and dog that would frequently fight off the things that won't matter the most.
Jack felt the tension between them. Before a bloody fight took place, he stood up and said. "Deros, have some fun for the meantime. I will summon you if my brother tempts to kill me."
Deros nodded but he smirked at Valmer who was staring at him madly.
He said, "Don't you ever hurt him, or you will get what you wish for." Deros turned his back at him.
Before he finally disappears, he put his hand on his forehead as a sign of respect and compliment.
Deros winked at Jack. As soon as he snapped his fingers, the place was filled with smoke.
"I am sorry for what Deros has said to you, brother. We both know that you guys have different philosophies and beliefs."
"I don't understand why you became friends. Deros is an ass who makes my day bad and horrible to deal with!"
Valmer angrily throws himself to the soft couch. He gently massages his temple and asked Jack. "I thought Gray will stay until the next full moon in the World of Zombies."
"Have you seen him earlier?"
Jack felt something that he can't explain. Everyone around him knows already their strength and powers while he only knows that he can be summoned by a mortal.
Valmer put his feet on the table. He reached for the grapes on his side and chew it angrily.
"I think you saw Gray in the hallway. Why you suddenly become curious about the Gril reaper?" Jack catches the bunch of grapes when Valmer throws it without giving a warning.
Valmer smiled widely and said, "You are good at everything, Jack. That's perhaps the reason why father and everyone chooses you as the new King of our world,"
There was a bitterness in his voice.
He added, "Forget about it! But for now, tell me why that Gray came back too early and arriving here without further notice!" Valmer almost pulverises the grapes he was gnawing.
Jack couldn't eat the grapes as he felt guilty on behalf of his brother. He said, "I was drooling and craving for grapes but upon seeing you gnawing it furiously, I felt pity for the grapes. Maybe you should have been gentle towards it."
A loud, satirical laugh sounded off around the place. Jack hold back his laughter but Deros had influenced him.
"F*ck you, Deros! Leave us alone if you want still to see the moon!"
"Brother, you seemed frantic and violent since you arrived. Can you tell me what had happened?"
Valmer was astounded by his question.
How could he tell Jack the truth when the reason for all the anguish he felt was his younger brother.
He looked away from his gaze and shook his head.
"Nothing! It's just... It's just..."
"It's just?"
Jack waited for Valmer's reply. He's expecting a serious reason when Valmer deflected it.
He said, "Perhaps I need more blood to feel enthusiastic. Or maybe, a boar's meat!" Valmer looked around to see something to eat aside from the fruits.
However, there's nothing on the table except for a glass of blood.
"Jack,"
"You haven't drink your strength booster."
Jack put aside the grapes and walked closer to get the glass of blood. He forgot to drink it as he was carried away from the thought of his grandmother's diary.
He burst into a loud laughter to distract his elder brother. He must act expertly and hide what he has found.
He said, "Oh! I forgot to drink it as Deros and I was doing something earlier!" Jack drank the blood and swallowed it like water.
Valmer replied, "Well, you must drink a lot of blood to live longer. Also, tell Gray to go to the World of the Beast and fetch all their souls!"
The Vampire King's throne was flourished with the late Kings. Their portraits were hung into the wall and Jack was next to his father's portrait.
Both sides of the King's chair were adorned elegantly. He wasn't wearing a King's crown but Jack possessed the mark of a King.
He said, "There's must be something going on between you and Gray. Well, I'll tell and order him right away about it."
Before leaving the place, Valmer stepped closer to Jack and licked the glass.
"We need blood and power, Jack. We need it to become immortal creatures in the whole universe. We will own the universe Jack if we possess the unconquerable power!"
Valmer whispered into his ears.
