Chapter 14: Meditation
We head back to Merchant's Street, and go around the different shops to see what Skills are available.
In the end Little Rat bought two more skills. One is Wind Walk for 43G and the other is Wind Shield at 48G.
For my part I bought another three Elemental Skills, one of them is Weapons Coating, the other is called Elemental Mine and the last one is Elemental Walk. spending a total of 104G on all three.
We go back to the inn for lunch but looking at Little Rat's face while he eats i can only sigh
"We should stay inside the city to train for the next few days. We have enough money, and you don't seem like you can stop the excitement"
He looks at me with a guilty look and laughs in glee
"That's better, besides in the end we need to learn these skills to get stronger"
We look at each other and laugh, after all we are both excited to learn and be able to use those flashy powers.
I look at him and remind him
"You should Focus in one of the three skills, in a week let's go out to see how much stronger we became"
"Which one should i learn?" he asks
"I think that Wind Blade, after all you have no attacking method that can make damage to enemies. Although my thunder shot is energy consuming and all, it can cause some damage"
He nods and finishes his food in silence. A little later, we go back to our roms to start training.
In my room I start my training with a meditation to try and increase my mana pool size. It is a long and arduous training path, because without resources it's something that takes a long time of effort.
After two hours of meditation I can't really feel any growth in my mana pools. I start to wonder how I will keep up with others. Although the ability to control time is powerful, i haven't heard of any resource that is useful for this.
So only plain meditation can increase it and on the other hand, i can't buy a meditation technique for myself, because most of them are specific for each element. I may be able to buy one for the Thunder Mana Pool, but for the time one, I don't think it even exists.
Thinking of the elemental crystal I used for my awakening I started thinking of the skeleton inside the cave. And I realize that I never checked what was inside the ring in the first place. Maybe there will be many treasures, after all, the owner had a Crystal that is probably worth more than this whole city.
With excitement, I take the Storage Ring and send energy inside to take out anything that's there.
"It seems that the senior's death wasn't an accident or old age, there are so many empty medicine bottles. There is only one bottle with medicine inside. I don't know if it is still usable, i will have to check latter"
I keep looking through the items I took out, sorting them.
With the first bottle of medicine to check I put the other bottles inside a gunny sack, after all some are made of jade or beautiful carved crystals. they should be worth something. Even mosquito legs are meat.
Next there is a book, it seems to be a meditation technique. I don't pay much attention to it thinking that even if it is of the thunder element I won't be that useful, after all I can buy one of those with money.. What I need is some way to increase my Time Mana Pool.
I read the title and freeze on the spot, all the hairs in my neck standing.
"Elemental Flow Meditation Technique, what kind of meditation technique is this?"
I calm down and start to think. We had asked before if there was something like this for sale, after all if Elemental Skills existed so would Elemental Meditation techniques. But the answer we got was surprising, They said that such techniques can only be used by the core members of the bigger organization. It's the kind of thing that we wouldn't normally lay a hand on in all our life. but here I am with one in my hand.
It is so valuable because you will only need to learn one meditation technique in all your life. You wont need to change them and above that, you will be able to train all your elements at the same time.
If i think about it i can understand it, after all the more you grow the more elements you will have, At Iron Star its one and you need to raise it to 500 Units to break through. At Copper Star level you will have two elements and if you have to train them separately you will need two meditations techniques and double the time, going down the line they will be three and later four elements in the same predicament. Besides that, every time you develop a new element its pool capacity starts on Beginner Iron Star level, needing to train it all over again.
A conflict starts brewing inside me, making me confused and I start wondering.
"I can't let other people know of this technique, but should I teach it to Little Rat?
He is my good brother and someone I can trust my back to, but if someone else learns of this technique, he will be in danger, and so will his family.
"I will think about it later, for now i need to grow stronger"
With my determination made, I continue looking through the things inside the ring, but aside for some clothes and miscellaneous books, there's nothing else of great value.
The clothes are of great quality, but that isn't something that matters to me and if i use them outside, others would start to wonder where i got them from.
I store the clothes and books inside the ring again, and put the medicine bottle that still has some medicine, inside my pocket.
I go out to the medicine store, to ask around what that medicine is, and to see if those bottles are worth something.
Entering I start to look through the merchandise that is available. Because the medicine store is the best in town, I look out of place with my cheap clothes.
On a shelf I see a medicine bottle with a beautiful design on them, the name is something I recognize.
Mana Pool Tempering Pill: it's used to strengthen the mana pool inside the body, trough its power one can reinforce the mana pool to use more power without causing damage to it by the strong circulation. Price: 350G
My mouth gaping with the price, I realized that Master Saras was really kind in giving me something so precious to save me.
As I am looking around an old man gets out from the back of the shop, looks at me and frowns.
"What are you looking for?"
His voice rough and grave, it seems he is someone of few words.
"Hello, i was able to get these pill bottles by luck in the forest, i was wondering if they were useful for you"
I say while passing him the gunny sack. And while doing so i take out the medicine bottle from my pocket.
"Also i found this medicine with it, i wanted to know what this was"
He takes a look fist inside the sack, and his looks soften.
"You got a good eye, these are pill bottles to store high grade medicine. I will but them from you"
He says while taking each of them out and arranging them on the counter.
He then starts to count them and writes something inside a small notebook.
After he takes the medicine in my hand to look at, he rolls the pills in his hand and sniff them.
"I will give you 842G for the bottles. And this medicine is the Bloodmourn Pill, it can replenish blood after the body is wounded"
"Allright, i will sell to you the bottles, i would like to buy some healing pills from you.For flesh wounds and internal wounds"
"That will be 120G for one of each of those pills"
I nod to him and buy one of each, in case of emergency. I take the pills and the money and leave to buy something else.
After a couple of hours of browsing stores I'm back in the inn, I knock on Little Rat's door with a book in my hand.
"What happened bro, is something the mather"
His face confused. I passed him the book in my hand.
"Here, it's for you, you will need a meditation technique better suited for yourself"
The book I passed him is a book called Wind Dragon Meditation Technique. It's a good technique that is worth every penny I spent on it. It's the best meditation technique in the market for those of the wind element.
"I can't take this it's too expensive" he yells
"Well you better take it because there's no return for it" I laugh.
I turn around leaving a stupefied Little Rat at the door, and go back to my own room to train.
I didn't give him the Elemental Meditation technique now, after all I wouldn't make any difference, he only needs to train in one element at the moment.
I reach my room, sit down on my bed and start reading the meditation technique, soon my mind is engrossed in it. Soon after I finish reading the book, it vanishes in a poof of light and enters my mind.
