Chapter 45: She Was Finally Back In Town 2
After Xavier got up that morning, he sat up in the massive luxurious bed, looking totally confused before he recalled the events of last night and remembered why he was sleeping in the guestroom and not in his private chamber.
He left the room after he took his bath and put on the suit that the maid left for him on the bed.
He was happy to see that the guards were still standing at their position. They greeted him with a stern salute and he greeted back with a nod.
He longed to see Tashina but he knew he had to give her more time to register everything he told her last night so he reluctantly turned away from the door and went down the hall.
It wasn't a few seconds later until Ren came down the hall and his red face gave Xavier the impression that his ears were about to get tortured by Ren's annoying voice early this morning.
"I will not be greeting you this morning because I am pissed, Xavier" Ren who was dressed in his formal wear which comprises a red and golden suit with his status of a Beta on his shoulder, started and Xavier sighed.
"I could care less," Xavier muttered and continued his walk down the hallway.
"What type of cousin are you? You came into my past midnight-"
"It was only eleven pm" Xavier grunted.
"You not so subtly slapped my butt and then slap me on the cheek just so I could give you a single pill?" Ren breathed out in annoyance.
"Would you have rather I fainted from lack of energy?" Xavier stopped and stared at a fuming Ren.
"You know where I keep the pills in my room, you could have just taken one from the drawer but no, you have to wake a sleeping beauty up" Ren gesticulated in apparent irritation.
"One," Xavier put his index finger up.
"You're right about me knowing where you put your pills but I wanted to annoy you so yes, I did wake you up on purpose" Ren gasped out at the boldness of his cousin.
"Two," Xavier put up another finger with a bored look on his face.
"You're not a sleeping beauty, not even close to it, and don't you ever associate beauty with Ren in a single sentence, it's tragic" Xavier smirked as the blood flow to Ren's ears and he began to pant.
"Just because you're my older cousin, it doesn't give you the right to annoy me whenever you want" Ren gritted.
"No, it's because I'm your Alpha, I have the right to annoy you whenever I want" A smile broke on Xavier's face at Ren's anger.
It was a rare moment for Xavier to be annoying Ren, it was usually the other way round.
Ren began to sniff the area, he sniffed the air then brought his nose close to Xavier and sniffed.
"Do you smell that?" Ren asked.
"Smell what?" Xavier frowned in confusion.
"Pure arrogance emanating from you!" Ren hissed and Xavier rolled his eyes.
Ren then sniffed the air again.
"That's enough sniffing, Ren!" Xavier snapped.
"No, I smell-" he was cut off by an excited scream that rang down the hall.
"My sweet, fluffy puddles of Rencules!!!" A huge smile broke on Ren's face and he already knew who it was before he turned.
"No way!" he beamed and opened his arms as she ran down the hall.
He wasn't caught off guard when she jumped into his arms and wrapped her legs over his torso.
"My honey pie!" Ren grinned.
"My sugar cake!" Chivia gushed.
"My most beloved sweetheart!" Ren twirled her in his arms.
"My most amazing darling!" Chivia screamed.
"My sweet, soft marshmallow!!" They both chanted at the same time.
"Oh Lord," Xavier muttered under his breath.
A package of Ren's annoying nature was getting too much for him to handle and when his mate, Chivia is added to the package, Xavier will never have a quiet day in his life.
He knew he should have enjoyed the few months Chivia left town.
"I missed you so much!" Chivia kissed his cheeks, his nose, and his forehead.
"I missed you more!" Ren kissed her palms, her fingers, and her wrists.
"I missed you the mostest!!" They hugged one more time and bounced off the floor together.
Xavier turned around and was about to escape the scene when a grip on his collar pulled him back.
"Oh, my sweet dear potatoes of Xavierness!" Chivia grabbed Xavier and stuffed his face on her chest, not so gently.
"I missed you, I missed you!" she ruffled his hair and hugged him tightly.
Too tight that she was cutting his circulation off and his face turned beet red.
"Chi...Chivia..." Xavier tapped her arm for help.
She pulled him away and used her hands to hold his face in front of her and his cheeks puckered out in a ridiculous manner.
"Let me have a look at you, you've lost so much weight!" She squeezed and pulled his cheeks as she pouted.
The one person the great Alpha couldn't fight back was Chivia, Ren's beloved mate and the head of the female warriors in North-Eastern Pack.
He would never dare to.
"Were they even feeding you properly while I was gone?!" she sulked dramatically.
"Don't worry, now that mama Chivi is in the house, I promise to fill those fat cheeks back" Chivia smiled with a promising look and Xavier grimaced.
"You didn't even tell me you were coming when we talked last night," Ren said as he stared at his wife, lovingly.
"Of course, I didn't want to ruin the surprise" Chivia grinned and Xavier took the chance to escape from her grip.
"By the way, what's going on with the whole town? The streets are empty and the Pack was acting weird when they saw me" Chivia asked and crossed her arms.
Xavier and Ren looked at each other as the same thought were on their mind.
The werewolves were hiding from the vampire.
"How many times have I told you guys to stop doing that brother thing you do, in front of me?!" Chivia snapped her fingers and they broke the eye contact.
"Speak!" She demanded.
Ren sighed and explained everything to her.
From how Xavier found Tashina in the mountains to how they rescued her from the people last night.
Chivia paused for a second as she tried to register everything she just heard.
"So... you're saying that Xavier found his mate and she's right in this palace?" Chivia asked and Ren nodded.
"So you're telling that Xavier's mate is in this palace, breathing the same air as us?" Chivia asked again.
"Yeah, did you hear the part where I said she is a vampire?" Ren scowled.
"Do I care? All I heard was Xavier found his mate and she's alive!!!" Chivia beamed and then she stopped all of a sudden, staring out far into space.
Ren pressed his hands on his ears because he knew what that look meant and anticipated the attack.
Chivia let out an ear-splitting scream that effectively bounced out the walls of the castle.
Xavier who wasn't prepared for the sudden noise, staggered back from the shock and before he knew it, he was on the floor and Chivia was tackling him.
"Oh my God, I can't believe it!!" she screamed excitedly and jumped on Xavier.
"My baby finally found his baby!!" she pulled him up and crushed him against her.
"After so long! I'm so happy for you, I could literally combust here" Chivia wiped the nonexistent tears from her eyes, her shades long forgotten on the floor.
"Ren, a little help please?" Xavier begged from the floor.
"I'm sorry bro but I think we've established the fact that no one touches Chivi when she is over the moon" Rem smirked as he felt he got his revenge on Xavier.
"Bloody Son of Niroma!" Xavier cursed.
"Where is she?!" Chivia got up.
"Chivia, you're not-"
"She must be in his bedroom" she gleamed and walked down the hall.
Xavier sighed and rubbed his temples.
He woke up just five minutes ago but he was already starting to feel a new set of headaches.
"Your mate needs a leash," he told Ren as they walked down the hall.
"Don't say that, she loves you" Ren scolded.
"Scratch that, you both need one" Xavier shook his head.
Chivia ran down the hall and when she got to the end of the hall, she stopped and took her time to get to her destination.
The guards stationed at the door spotted her and quickly got in position.
"Welcome back, General Niroma!" They stood up straight and greeted their leader in the military tone as they gave her a stern salute.
"At ease, soldiers," she grinned.
She moved forward and knocked twice on the door before she opened it with a huge smile on her face.
What she saw inside the room was beyond her imagination and it captivated her.
