Chapter 3: The Elementary School And The Beginning of a Hellish Life

Fast forward to the summer after kindergarten. The family moved elsewhere because the man was now stationed in San Diego. Far from all the little boys friends and connections. The boy was scared of this new life. He wasn't sure if he'd fit in.

Now it is the time of the first day of 1st grade. He met new kids but was scared to be disliked. So he kept to himself mostly. Only after a few days into school did he finally open up to the kids around him. He made friends quickly again because he was able to get along well with everyone.

He still did well in his academics. That was until after 2nd grade. The reason for this was near the end of 2nd grade. The school was handing out awards for academics and other things. The boy was awarded a pin and was recognized as one of the smartest in the state for his grade. Now after the ceremony, his parents asked if he wanted them to take care of his pin. The boy was proud of his accomplishment and wanted to show it off to everyone else. When he reached on boy in grades above him, he asked to look at it. The young innocent boy said yes and what happened next changed his life forever. The older boy smashed the child's pin into the wall, grinding it into the brick until it was broken and no longer lustrous. The boy was stunned. Why would anybody do this? He was such a nice young boy didn't realize the evil side of human nature until it was too late. The boy was sad and after that had happened, in his future school life, he would never do good again. But we'll get to the other schools soon enough.

After that fateful event, that is when life started to go downhill. Snowball style. It started with the lying. The child felt no one had cared for his academic accomplishments so why should he? He had been a good student before so when his parents asked him if he had homework, he always said no.

Now, not everything that happened was bad. No. In this 3rd grade when the lying began, another young boy moved to the school. The two young boys quickly became best friends. And this grade is also when he had a met a girl. His best friend also liked this girl. So they fought. Luckily no one witnessed it. But afterwards, they both thought it was silly to fight over her. So afterwards, they were still the best of friends.

Now near the end of the year, the teacher decided to call the parents of the young boy and inform them of all his missing work. The parents were horrified! Is the teacher sure it was their boy? The same boy who did well in school since he started? Unfortunately, it was the same boy.

However, the lying had just begun. He had started to lie about little things to his parents for no reason. At first it was the homework. Then, some days he was just too lazy, he would lie about brushing his teeth. He did not care. But all this lying, he did not realize it would come to bite him in the ass. It all really happened later down the road though.

It is now 4th grade. A new girl had come to school. The boy was scared. Because not long after, he had discovered he liked this girl. She was cute, a nice person, but most of all, he just felt an attraction. Soon they became what boyfriend and girlfriend was to little kids. They never did kiss though. Even right before they left each other for good in fifth grade. Not because they didn't like each other, the little girl's father had been laid off from his job and they had to move. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

The boy still lied about doing his homework. His parents decided to believe him because they didn't think he would do it again after how much trouble he got in. However he never stopped lying about it. Yet, no matter what, he still passed.

Now it is 5th grade. Last grade of elementary school. The boy by this time had made many more friends. The boy had no sense of integrity though because he still lied about his homework. Near the end, his parents found out again. They punished the boy but he didn't care. What he did care about though, was what his parents had told him after the punishment. They were going to be moving in the summer back to Texas in the part where one side of his grandparents lived. The boy was devastated. He didn't want to leave his friends. He had so many. Why did they have to move? This is where this chapter of life ends.
