With all the screaming , coughing , and groaning , Ayomi , and probably lots of others heared nothing but a bell. Some were screaming and didn't even know it. As soon as the room seemed silent , Ayomi cracked her eyes open. The screaming began , but louder. Students mutating , Red angry bumps forming around the students bodies , their skin was sizzling off , as if they made contact with acid. She even noticed her skin start to burn . She glanced at Himiku who was in a world of panic and confusion. Ayomi grabbed her by the arm and raced out , and locked herself along with Himiku in the 1932 janitors closet they were planning on removing in a few days. Wood & dirt Debris fall on their heads as they catch their breath. The seal on the door was so powerful , the smoke could not get in. Ayomi glanced at Himiku , who was passed out on the floor. Ayomi could still hear the screaming ringing in her ears , until she cried herself to sleep.
She awoke to silence, and sat up. " hey , wake up ! " Ayomi shook Himiku. Himiku started to blink her eyes open . She had large bags under her eyes. " we need to find a way out! " Ayomi quietly shouted. Himiku, without a word stood up and followed Ayomi. As Ayomi peaked the door open, there was a faint black smoke still in the air. She closed the door and began searching for anything to at the very least cover their skin. All they found was a box of masks, lost and found jackets and some old pairs of sweatpants. They went to check the classroom to see what was going on. She peered into the doorway and glanced at the collapsed students. Her stomach did summer saults at the sight of areas the skin didn't cover. She leaned over and tried to hold her stomach contents. The smell of rotting bodies was only describable as - everything perishable decaying, in one. She looked to find any survivors , and focused on one student - he was moving ! She ran over to him and held him up . " are you ok !? " she shouted . The student mumbled , " talk to me ! " Ayomi cried . The student then looked up at her. She screamed In fear. The student's face was half torn off with a eyeball hanging out. The rest of the exposed tissue dried and rotted. Himiku backed up from the doorway in horror . The diseased student tackled Ayomi, with what little muscle he had. Ayomi tried kicking as hard as she could , but it seemed almost like he had no pain sensors - he felt nothing. Ayomi screamed as he leaned in , almost like he was attempting to bite her.
She reached over to a bag , and smacked it in the creatures face, leaving her enough time to escape.
As they reached an empty classroom , they took a minute to breathe. What was that thing?... Ayomi thought to herself. She sighed. " I'm going to look around. You stay here. " Ayomi said , glancing at Himiku. " Wait ! " Himiku said in a shaken tone. " I will be back shortly, you won't die here. " Ayomi said , in a one - toned voice.
As Ayomi walked the halls with a leg of a chair she broke off , she heard faint screaming. Not this again... she thought. She heared a somewhat familiar voice calling for help. She realised someone was in need of help and rushed over to where she heard the sound, and slammed the door open only to find some creature attacking a student, while another one call for help. Ayomi stabbed the creature in the head with the chair leg. She look at the student , who was being attacked only to realise it was her distant friend, Kagami Yumokana and her other friend, Mishiko Kitsiku. " Ayomi ! " Kagami shouted while hugging her. " I'm glad your ok.
We were worried about you ! "
Ayomi felt bad that she had not thought about them. " I w-was too ! " Ayomi stuttered. " is Keketatsu with you ? " Mishiko asked Ayomi, who shook her head. " I see. " Mishiko sighed.
They walked to Keketatsu's class, where they find him curled up with his hands covering his tear drenched face , surrounded by dead creatures . " keketatsu ?..." Ayomi Muttered . Keketatsu looked up , only to see Ayomi . Alive and well. He started to cry and hugged her tightly . " I thought I lost you ! " he said in a shaken tone. Ayomi could only respond in her own cry, and hugging him back." I'm sorry I couldn't get to you sooner ... " Ayomi choked out , in tears.
In keketatsu's response , he rest his chin on her shoulder.
Ayomi's shoulder wet in keketatsu's tears , she patted his cherry - brown hair. " it's ok... I'm right here. " Ayomi sighed. " were you alone this whole time ?..." Mishiko asked. Ayomi then remembered about Himiku. " yes , infact... actually I kinda left her in a locked classroom, and i have to bring her here... I will be right back..." as Ayomi walked away, Keketatsu grabbed her arm. " Please don't leave..." he cried. " Keketatsu.... it will only be a minute ..." Ayomi mumbled.
" But wha- " Ayomi cut him off. " Keketatsu, there are no 'Buts ' when it comes to a student's safety. As the Vice President of this school it's my duty... it will take less then a minute."
She disappeared through the doors, as if it were the last time they would see her.
"Himiku ? " Ayomi called out for her in the classroom , but she was not there. Ayomi cursed under her breath. She swung open the library door , where she heard screaming , only to find a creature tackling Himiku. Ayomi tackled it , keeping it off of himiku. This one was way stronger, it pinned Ayomi to the wall, slamming her head , causing blood to stream down her face. The creature licked the blood off her face as Himiku watched in horror. Himiku ran off , trying to find some help.
Ayomi was continuously slammed against the wall , leading to a severe concussion. Blood ran down her face , she was barley conscious. The creature then bit deeply into her shoulder. She screamed in agonising pain... for, it really hurt. Keketatsu slammed the door open in angry tears. He pryed the creature off of Ayomi and beat it to death , with only a fist.
Keketatsu had a pit feeling in his stomach as he called out her name, as she lie in his arms, drenched in her own blood. " a- Ayomi ?..." he quietly cried, in an attempt to wake her. " please... talk to me ! " he choked out. Ayomi's eyes barely open , began to close. " no , please ! " he whimpered " I love you..."
He sat there , Ayomi unconscious, barely breathing. Unable to focus on anything else, but ..
Blood.
Her blood was everywhere.
On the wall.
Her head
Her once white shirt,
His hands...
Everywhere.
He cradled her body close to his, wishing he could do something to help her.
Did it hurt?...
Would thing have been different if I went with you?...
Would you have been suffering like this if i had came sooner?...
He tried to find ways he would blame himself, but it only hurt him more.
He held her close to his face.
She looked almost as if she were sleeping , but her skin was very pale. Then the worst thought came into keketatsu's head. Is Ayomi d- ....
Just the thought filled him with rage and sadness. At that moment , he was angry at himself , for not going with her.
