Chapter 18: Ch.18

Austin POV

"I lost her. Where could she run off to?" Austin said. Taking deep breaths.

"She's a little girl. She mustn't gone far." Geana looked around and couldn't spot the girl. Geana became worried. "Why does this have to happen. " Austin noticed a tear run down her cheek.

"Geana." Austin said. He was about the comfort her but she pushed him away.

"No. This wasn't supposed to happen. It was all going so well. Why does it have to happen..." she began to cry. "Its not fair....its not fair." Austin again comfort Geana and gave her a hug.

"Its ok. We'll find her. And once we do, we can introduce her to your favorite crush. Get some ice cream. Maybe you'll have the courage to ask her out on a date." Austin said.

Geana whipped away her tears and smiled at her long best friend. "Yeah. That sound nice."

Austin and Geana continued their search for Abbygale. They looked around the beach. The port. The town. Everywhere. She wasn't seen anywhere. But they weren't going to loose hope.

"She could be anywhere. We'll need more help to find her." Austin agreed. Once they were going to leave the area, Geana spots something at the parking lot. "Wait....it can't be." She slowly walked towards the parking lot and spotted a woman. Austin saw the woman and immediately recognized her. "You gotta be kidding me. Not her."

"Why is she here? Ah oh." Austin said.

"What?" Geana asked.

"Tom is with her." Austin  said with concern.

Chris started walking down the hill alone. He felt helpless. Theirs no way he can help find Abbygale in his state. He wanted to help....but he didn't  know how. As he reached the end he spotted Tom at the parking lot...he might as well tell him what happened.

"You bitch." Chris heard Tom said. Tom was with a woman. A woman he never seen before.

"Oh may. Still have a mouth I see." Chris moved in closer and saw a stunning woman. She had pale skin. Black hair. Red lips. She was beautiful. Chris didn't want to be seen so he tried his best to hide his presence behind the "STOP" pole....yeah he knew it wasn't a great cover. Chris listened in.

"Get out of here. Your not welcome anywhere!" Tom said.

"Don't try that card on me. Your father is a bidding lawman. He wouldn't keep me away from my own home. Now would he?" She smiled. Even her smile was beautiful.

"If he known, he wouldn't—!"

"If he known, he wouldn't do anything. After all, the law is the law." She cut him off. Chris saw Tom hold his tongue. Chris knows that Tom would never hold back against anyone...who is this woman.

"Is that why you brought your fancy lawyer. That suck up in the car." Tom pointed out.

"Their here for my interest. After all, my husband wouldn't let me go without insurance. You know that word? Insurance? Don't you have one??" She grinned.

Tom was going to set a fuse but he hold back again. "Why are you here, Morgana." She smiled and hand him an envelope.

"You remember our deal don't you. I'm here to remind you of what you owe me." She said. Tom took the envelope and opened it.

"You could've....at least.....waited." Tom's anger was leaking out. He threw the paper on the floor next to her feet. "You cold hearted bitch." Her lawyer came out of the vehicle and picked up the paper. "How the hell did you know."

"Oh my dear. Words travel fast when your husband is a rich politician. Though I didn't expect this kind of outcome. I thought he'll left you already. Don't know why he stayed with you this long." She walked closer to Tom. "I mean. Who would want a broken toy."

That was Tom last fuse. He was going to jump her but her other lawyer pushed Tom back. She had two layers with her. She smiled.

"We made an agreement, Tom. I would divorce George, and allow the both of you to be married. And once your first born is born and turn 10, I would leave you both in peace....but if anything were to happen to George or married before your first born turns ten, all of his inheritance belongs to me. His property, his land, and his money. And the last time I checked...your daughter is only eight."

"BITCH!" Tom tried to attack her but her lawyer punched Tom in the stomach. Chris couldn't hold back so he rushed towards him.

"Tom!" Chris exclaimed. He helped Tom up. "Are you ok?" Tom nodded. Chris wasn't the only one that ran after him. Austin and Geana came to help.

"Well well. Your friends are here. Hmph. How nice." She laugh softly. She napped her fingers. The other lawyer holding the paper pushed the letter onto Tom. "We made a deal, Tom. Make sure you honor it. Thats what your ancestors were about, correct. Honor?"

Tom took the letter and stared at her. He wanted to punch her.

"I'll give you until his funeral. Make sure you move out of that sorry excuse of a home and have all the deeds ready. And then I'll come and collect. Until we see eachother again, Tom."

♥︎♥︎

Tom didn't say anything. How could he. Now theirs more to his plate.

"She's nothing but a devil with a pretty face." Geana said.

"Fuckin' gold digger. " Tom said breaking his silence.

"Theirs no way she could've known this fast." Austin said.

"Her husband's rich. Of course she'd known." Tom said.

"Ugh! I hate her." Geana said. "Where's Julie?"

"She went to see my dad. Of course he wasn't at his house so she thought he might be at the temple. Figures." Tom said.

"Hahaha you might be right. Right guys?" Geana laughed nervously. Austin and Chris stayed silent. Geana snapped. "RIGHT GUYS!" The two of them agreed.

"Whats with you?" Tom asked Geana.

"Oh! Well you know this and that happened." Geana said.

"What happened?" Tom asked her. Geana stayed quiet. "Geana?" Geana looked away.

Austin broke out his silence. "WE LOST ABBYGALE AND YOUR DAD TOLD HER ABOUT GEORGE!" Chris was amazed on how fast he said that. But he's more amazed of Tom's reaction. Its like he froze.

"...." Tom stayed silent.

"Tom?" Geana waved at his face. "Hello??"

"....." Tom continued to stay silent.

"...I think he's cracked." Geana said. The moment she said that Tom passed out. "AHHH!!!!!"

♥︎♥︎

Austin layed down Tom in the shade. The sun is about to set but the heat stayed the same. Geana fan his face. Julie and the Chief caught up with them.

"She's a smart girl. She would've stayed close by." Julie said. She was the most reasonable one with a cool head. "We'll check the beach. Austin you'll check under the boards. Father, you'll check the food stands. Ask questions if they seen her. Geana stay put. I'll go check the overview. Maybe I could spot her from a far. Chris," she turn to Chris. "You'll go further down the beach. Where the lighthouse is. She could be their as well." Chris agreed.

They all went their separate ways to look for Abbygale. Chris walked down the beach. With every step he took, he gets closer to the lighthouse. While walking their, he couldn't help but remember what the woman named Morgana said to Tom. Agreement? Did he made a contract with her? She said she divorce Tom's husband. Does that mean Tom is George's second marriage. And what does she mean by "a broke toy"? Chris couldn't help but keep thinking about it.

Once Chris arrived at the end of the beach he noticed a sign that said to stay away from the area. He noticed stones and a clear pathway to the lighthouse. Up close, the lighthouse was huge. It had a eerie vibe to it.

"This is probably where the sore is mostly just sea water. I guess its just a safety percussion." Chris said to himself.

"Just you wait." Chris heard a voice. It came from over the path rocks. He wasn't sure if it was safe to cross the danger sign. But he had to go. Someone else might get hurt.

"Hello!" Chris yelled.

"Go away!" The voice said. Chris recognized the voice. He quickly walked towards the voice and saw her. She was ok. Abbygale spotted Chris. "Go away! I don't need you."

"Everyone's worried about you. You shouldn't go off on your own." Chris said.

"Like you care." She said. She began to walk.

"Abbygale, where are you going?" Chris asked while following her.

"To the lighthouse! I'm going to bring my daddy back! So papa won't be sad! So I won't be alone. My daddy's not gone! He's not!" She kept walking towards the lighthouse.

Chris knows she's in pain. But he doesn't understand that bond between a child and a father. He never had that kind of connection. He wants to drag her and get away from this dangerous place...but he can't help but...help her.

"Alright." Chris said. Abbygale stopped. She turned around. Chris kept walking and stood next to her. "Abbygale, to be honest. I don't know how it feels like to have a dad that loves you. Or even cares. I never had that. Its stupid really. Getting all jealous of a little brat who gets all the love from that. But sometimes I wish, my dad acted that way. He never loved me. Or cared. I'll help you. If you allow me in your company. "

Abbygale stared at Chris. She turned away. "I don't like you. At all...but your daddy's a jerk! If my daddy heard that, he'll beat your daddy. Let's go!" Chris smiled as she walked towards the lighthouse. Chris is starting to like Abbygale.

As they arrived at the entrance, the door got jammed.

"Pickles!" Abbygale said. "Theirs no way we can get in."

"Well they did blocked off this whole area off because it was dangerous. So I can see why." Chris looked around. "We can break a window or something."

"If your 11ft tall." She pointed at the window above him."

"Fuck." Chris whispered. Chris felt cold. The wind seemed to be blowing much harder than usual. He looked at the water. It seemed to be rising...."oh no..."

Abbygale gasped. "A huge wave!" Chris looked and saw it coming. If it hits here, they'll be curtain they'll be swept away.

"SHIT!" Chris tried to get the door open. He slam his shoulder at the door so it can open. It won't bug. He looked at the direction of the safe zone. Theirs no way in hell their going to make it. "FUCK!" He kept hitting the door to open.

"Hurry hurry!!" Abbygale cried out.

"I'm trying!" Chris cried out! "FUCK! OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR!" Abbygale began to cling onto Chris. She trembled as the waves creep closer. "No or never." With one last hit. With all his might. He slam the door and it at last opened.

He carried Abbygale and ran up the stairs. As he did the waves crush threw and water began to rise up the tower. Chris was running as fast as he could up the stairs with Abbygale with him. He prayed that the water doesn't reach them but it failed. It took them both. It didn't give then enough time to catch their breath. Chris tried to find something to hold on to. He found the rail and hold onto it. Holding Abbygale. He hold her tight. Wishing it wouldn't take her. Like water always do. They push back down the stairs with all force. Chris hold on even tighter.

Then they were able to breath. They both gasped for air. The water went back to where it belonged and it seems like it wasn't going to do it again. Chris felt weak but he had to keep going up. Even if it wasn't going to do it again, he had to get to safety. For both their sakes.

As he reached a safe place for the two of them he finally rested. It was a close call.

Abbygale began to smile. "We....we did it." Chris laugh a bit.

"We...you mean I..." Abbygale giggled. Relieved was short lived. Chris felt the sharpest pain he had ever had inside him. He couldn't describe the pain but it was hurting badly. "Ugh! Agh!"

"Chris!" Abbygale said.

"My....the...the baby... Agh!" Chris cried out in pain. No! The baby! No no. No no! I pushed too hard! No! Chris cried.

But then the pain....it started to go away. Chris wasn't sure why. Then he noticed something. Abbygale.

All she did was place her hand on his stomach. The place her hand is. Its warm. Its like. She was taking away the pain. Calming the baby. Like....she was healing them both...

"Its ok, baby. Its ok." Abbygale said. "Everything is going to be alright."

Chris...remembered what julie said about Abbygale. She's acting on her instincts. She protects. She's a leader of her own pack. She's...an Alpha.

"See?" Abbygale smiled. "Now you don't hurt no more. Baby is ok."

Chris couldn't stop a tear from dropping from his eyes. Chris hates alphas. He hated for what they stand for. Their prideful. Power hungry. Looking down on everyone. But after on what Abbygale just did. What Chris saw. What he just felt. He began to understand what Julie meant. Abbygale is following her true state as an Alpha. This is what it means to be an Alpha.

Chris couldn't stop crying. Abbygale stayed silent and sat by him. "Thank you." Chris said. Chris couldn't explain in words what he is feeling. Its as if he felt relieve. Safe. He would never forget how Abbygale save his baby. And Abbygale will never forget that Chris saved her life.
