Chapter 4: Chapter 1: Plans
Devries' P.O.V.
"Hyaaaaah!" A man cried as the sound of blood spurting around, as well as the shout from beasts, lingered around the whole area.
I looked at him as I was sitting at a small slope, seeing him stabbing Abbysmal Rats with a faintly made Spear. The man stabbed all of the Abbysmal Rats until they were dead meat. When all the Abbysmal Rats were dead, the man sighed.
He looked at me, countless sweat comes down from his head. The blood from the Rats was dripping from the Spear while the man swung his weapon, making the blood leave the Spear.
"Abbysmal Rats are easy to kill, but their numbers are increasing at an extremely brisk pace, don't they? Well, at the very least, we managed to defend our home." The man stated, wiping his sweat with his arms.
"At least we still don't encounter Evolved Beasts, or else things would go bad. Anyways, you did not use your Gift since earlier, right? Your physical strength sure is getting stronger, Luka." A young gorgeous woman appeared.
The woman was wearing a brown leather clothing with a jacket and a pant till the knees while wearing a sneaker. She was along with another beautiful woman beside her.
I looked at each of them. For instance, they are my friends. They seem talkative, but they don't bite. Hard. Joking. Anyways, as Mika — the woman who talked earlier — said, Luka's physical strength is unrivaled. Well, at least here in our group. He didn't even need to use his Blessing! Truly, what great physical power.
"Where's Renee?" I asked as I stood up from where I was sitting.
"He is in the lab, as usual." The woman beside Mika stated as she smiled innocently.
She was wearing a white robe and yellow stripes on her upper part while having a white skirt on her lower part. She was wearing a bracelet on her left hand paired with white sandals. She's Celestine by the way.
"This one's bothering me like, a lot. What is wrong with Renee and you Devries? You both are always so cool and calm, as well as having ginormous brains? Well, not like it's not good, but, why?" Mika asked, almost as if she's hurting herself as she scratches her head.
I ignored the question while Celestine and Luka giggled. All of a sudden, a young boy wearing a black robe and a cape along with black pants and black leather shoes as well. It's Renee. He's the one I asked. As usual, his hearing is indeed, intensely clear.
"Since we defended ourselves from the Abbysmal Wave and it's still not dark, shall we head back home and plan about our journey?" Luka asked. We all nodded and smiled as we head back home.
*Growl* *Growl*
All of a sudden, an intimidating and deafening growl was heard by each and every one of us. We all looked behind us, only to see an Evolved Beast in front of us. An Evolved Abbysmal Rat, to be exact. As I looked upon my friends, I saw them shaking and trembling, their eyes filled with fear.
Frankly speaking, when I first saw the said Evolved Beast, I was scared. Seeing an Evolved Abbysmal Rat was taunting, but I managed to stay calm despite the situation. I was looking at a different angle while I was in this kind of circumstance. I thought of it this way. 'I'm still alive'
That three words made me still calm, however, being calm only gives me peace of mind, not a boost of strength. If it is an adrenaline rush, it would make me a bit stronger due to my feelings. Anyways, I need to defeat this monster.
I am the only one that managed to stay calm. Needless to say, I am the one the has the accountability to defeat that monster, A.K.A. Evolved Abbysmal Rat. I'll finish this in a flash.
"Ignite," I stated.
Suddenly, the Evolved Abbysmal Rat squeaked, its body was making movements that are representing pain. Then, the Rat was gasping for breath as something was making the Rat be at that state. Seconds later, the Evolved Abbysmal Rat died.
"Vanish," I added.
Nothing happened, but the Rat died. I looked at all of my friends. They all went down at their knees one at a time, their face was at a great relief. I went at each of them and gave them a tap at the back.
One must be wondering, what did I do? Well, one of my Gifts is called Carbon Monoxide. Basically, I can freely generate and manipulate Carbon Monoxide, which pretty much like air, but is tasteless, odorless, colorless, and is a flammable gas. Furthermore, I can freely make it disappear as well. Carbon Monoxide is formed by incomplete combustion of carbon by the way.
Well to me, I can create this without anything, and it also costs me nothing as well. Anyways, the tactic I used earlier was pretty much my first Skill I created when I was 8. It is called "Ignition".
With this Skill, I generate Carbon Monoxide by simply saying "Ignite", just like I stated earlier. Then, Carbon Monoxide begins to appear, but it cannot be seen, heard, smell, or even be felt. Well, it gained the title "Silent Killer" after all.
Going back, as the Carbon Monoxide started to make its move, living things will be affected. Greatly, on top of that. Carbon Monoxide poisoning is definitely deadly. Additionally, it is painful. Painful. Breathing too much of this can cause illnesses for several hours, or sometimes, even death.
Now, here's the answer to why then Evolved Abbysmal Rat died so easily. The reason why the Rat was killed easily is that I can also strengthen and enhance the poison found in Carbon Monoxide. That is solely the reason why the Evolved Abbysmal Rat died so easily.
Strengthening the poison, as well as the numbers of Carbon Monoxide at a particular location. With this, I can easily bring pain or annihilate pretty much anyone. That is if I am not facing anyone that has Wind-related powers. Well, if they can notice what am I doing to them a second late, it might cost them their lives.
Well, that's pretty much it. Wait. Who am I even talking to? Let's just say that I am just doing this for I to refresh my knowledge. At the end of the day, I don't want to my knowledge to be stacked literally.
"Are all of you fine?" I asked, looking at them.
I'm not surprised about them being scared and all. After all, seeing an Evolved Beast is taunting, and is sometimes, traumatic. Some even died out of great fear. However, I am surprised about them not running away. Instead, they were just there. That is another good trait about them. If a problem shows up, they never leave each other. Truly, they are great friends.
"I didn't know that your Gift can be used like that, given the fact that Evolved Beasts have more resistance to Physical Attributes, when compared to humans, at least," Renee asked. "That was awesome. Thank you for saving us." He added.
I don't like compliments because they make me cringe, but it's Renee I'm talking about. He's just like me when it comes to knowledge and attitude. It isn't a small thing if Renee gives compliments.
"I did what I could. I also saved my life, so think of it not as helpful, but me wanting to live." I nonchalantly stated. After a few minutes, we went straight back home.
I went upstairs and went inside my room. As I opened the door, a big rich dark-colored rug welcomed me. Then, in front of that plain dark rug was a brown couch filled with 3 big pillows and two little ones. Above the rug, which is the ceiling was a mini chandelier.
Behind the couch was a white 3x3 meters bed with white curtains covering its left and right sides. At the left and right side of the curtains were drawers with a lamp on top of them. Above the bed on the wall was an abstract painting made by Luka and the airconditioner.
At the back left and right corner side was wooden closets. At the top right corner, the side was a study table that is 2x2 meters big, as well as a rolling chair. On the right side were a long couch and a mini television.
And to make myself clear, we're not rich. Money doesn't work here. I'm just diligent and lavish enough to make this. We just happen to stumble upon a massive land and created our house. That's why I have an 80x80 meter house, with a 40x40 backyard.
I went to my study table and sat at the rolling chair. I opened the lamp as the bright light shone around my big table.
'And here I thought that we would plan for our trip of defeating Omnior' I thought to myself. 'Well, I'll just do it myself, I guess?'
I took a large notebook as well as a pen. Guess I'll start by doing a plan myself. I'll just show it to them for them to understand. Well, I don't have a problem with Celestine since she understands me and Renee has a big brain like me.
Anyways, as I was saying, I will make a plan. Rather, I should make a plan. Having the upper hand in combat in terms of knowledge and power is a must. Defeating Omnior is like shooting a Horse at the hole of a needle at a million miles shot. And on top of that, we lack enough power and experience to even lay a scratch on his hair.
That being said, I, perhaps we, need to defeat his underlings first. There are 21 of them — excluding Omnior, and their Physical, Magical, and Mental prowess is extremely dangerous. Each one of them has different powers and specialties, but none in the whole wide world have any weakness right?
I don't know their powers yet, but through some research, I know their names and their Rankings from weakest to lowest. I think that with this knowledge, we can somehow manage to fight one of them at a time and win.
They have their Rankings. There's Surface — lowest rank — that has 8 people, Intermediate — middle rank — that has 4 humans, Bone — third to highest Rank — consisting of 4 people, Blood — second to highest rank — that has 2 members, and Heart, which is the highest rank that consists of two humans.
Frankly speaking, even the lowest of them all can annihilate all living things in a big town in 10 minutes. That's superb, but I think we can pull it off somehow. I don't know what the lowest of the lowest underling's powers are, but I can think that we can manage to defeat him. Maybe?
But in order to do that, I will make a plan first. And in maybe a month or 2, we'll leave LitterLands and face our first mighty opponent. But first, we'll train. We'll train our Physical and Magical powers. Then, we'll fight the one. And I think I have the best plan for that.

"So that's how it's going to be. I think it has a 69% chance of winning." Renee stated as he pricks his fingers.
"You overestimate us too much. I think it only has 55% of winning. However, that is only the probability. And our calculations are based only on his Physical Power. We still don't know it's Gift/s." I replied.
"You do have a point," Renee stated.
I looked at Mika and Luka, and their reactions are laughable. I mean, their faces and eyes are like, "What in the world? What are they talking about?" They don't even have a single clue on what Celestine, Renee and I are talking about.
Well, they don't really know what we are talking about. But I do think that they do know how dangerous what we are gonna do. At the very least, they are aware of what is happening. And I think that is already enough for them to understand what we are going through.
"Can you start over again?" Asked Mika.
"Sigh. I guess?" I said. "We're gonna leave in a month or two. And in the time before that, we must train our Physical and Magical Power. That's it. You don't need to know more. At least for now." I added.
".....Fine." Mika sassily stated.
I think that not telling the both of them is the best thing to do. If I already told them our plan, they might be too excited that they forget our plan. In some cases, when we fought a big Abbysmal Wave, thy totally forgot our plan.
For instance, I need to tell them what we are gonna do the day before we fight the first underling. I'll tell them the last day for our plan to be still fresh in their minds. Well, that solely is my point on not telling what our plan is.
"What are you all waiting for? It's still early in the morning? Why don't you all start training? A month isn't that big of a time you know?" I said, looking at each of them.
"We're all gonna help each other and tell each other what we lack in. Together, we'll be indistructable." Renee added. Renee don't like giving out compliments since he thinks itms cringey, but when he does, it's real.
We looked at each of us as we all smiled. Behold, as our journey of defeating Omnior together has now commenced!
