Chapter 4: 3

The end of the day rolled around faster than I expected. The whole time during English I screwed around with Dasom, as it did get us in a bit of trouble from our laughter. I personally didn't care too much, but Dasom continued to shush me with a small smirk. She kept telling me to: 'stop harassing her' or 'she has to maintain a good grade for this marking'.

We walked out of English, as we continued to laugh and poke fun at one another for not getting the class work done. We walked to the main enterance, as Amoy and Jiro waited for us at the door.

"I call shotgun in Fayola's car!" Amoy shouted, as I shook my head, and tossed her my keys.

"Fine, then go start it up so the inside can get warm." I told her, as Amoy caught the keys and groaned 'fine'. Jiro and I chuckled a bit, as we watched the Jamaican make her way down the enterance steps to find my car.

"I'll meet you guys over there, gotta take care of something at home first." Jiro told me, as I nodded and watched him walk off as well, leaving just Dasom and I.

"Mind if I get a ride? I don't have my car right now cause its in the shop." Dasom told me, as I smiled and nodded.

"Of course! Let's go before Amoy begins to play with the wires on my radio to screw with me." I grumbled as I remembered the last time she did it. It took me three days to figure out how to fix it, since Amoy refuses to help. Dasom chuckled and nodded, as we walked over to the car.

I pulled up to my house in a rough stop, as I stopped a bit too quickly. I looked over at Amoy and Dasom with a sheepish grin and apologized. They held onto anything they could to stop themselves from falling forward, as Amoy gave me a sharp look.

"Jesus, you need to slow down, jackass!" Amoy commented, as Dasom nodded in agreement. I simply rolled my eyes and cut the engine.

"Yeah, yeah, just get outta my damn car. You're the one who wanted to ride in it." I huffed, as we all got out. I locked the car doors and grabbed my house key. I was about to unlock the front door until it quickly swung open. There in the flesh stood my 6'3 brother, with a granola bar that hung out of his mouth.

"Hey, shithead, how was school?" Davu asked around the bar, as I rolled my eyes at him.

"The usual, what are you doing here?" I asked and looked him up and down. He did change a bit since the last time I saw him. Instead of his usual curly mop of hair he twisted it, so less of it was in his face. Along with the hair I noticed his neck adorned in faded hickeys, as I gagged a bit.

"Stealing some food. But, I gotta go. Catch ya later, Fay." He said as I turned and looked at his retreating figure.

"Hey! You're lucky mom and dad aren't home to tell you to keep it in your pants. So, I'll do it for them: KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS!" I screamed the last part, as he gave me the middle finger and got into his car. Amoy snickered as she walked past me, as Dasom had wide eyes.

"Don't you think that was a bit harsh?" Dasom asked me, as I whipped my head around, and gave her a puzzled look.

"No, that's how my brother and I always talk to one another." I told her as she nodded a bit in confusion.

"Alright, seems a bit harsh to me." She smiled nervously, as we headed inside the house. Amoy was already sprawled out across the whole couch, as I tossed my backpack by the door.

"So...Bathroom is upstairs to your left, kitchen is a bit down this hall, and...mi casa es su casa." I said with a smile, as Dasom giggled and nodded.

"Okay, thanks." She chuckled and sat down in one of the recliners.

I headed into the kitchen and grabbed four water bottles and a large bowl. I filled the bowl with plain potato chips and stuck the water bottles under my arms. I grabbed the bowl and headed back into the living room. When I walked in I saw Amoy fawning over a boy on her phone and Dasom working on homework.

I set the bowl of chips and water bottles down onto the coffee table, as Dasom looked up and smiled. She thanked me and looked back at the work. I wanted to talk to her, but also didn't wanna bug her while she was doing homework. I sat down next to Amoy, as the girl grabbed the bowl of chips and began to stuff her face.

"Jiro said he should be here in like 5 minutes. We playing poker?" She asked between her mouthfuls, as I leaned back on the couch, and shrugged.

"I'm up for it, what we playing for? Two dollars? Five?" I asked and Amoy shrugged as well.

"Whichever, you know I always win." She smirked as I huffed and narrowed my eyes.

Dasom looked over at us and raised a brow in confusion.

"You guys just sit around all day and play poker after school? What about homework?" She asked, as Amoy and I just shrugged.

"We usually get to it later. We just like taking a brain break and being competitive for a bit." Amoy explained as Jiro walked through the door and tossed his bag down by mine. He sat down on the couch and grabbed a water bottle. He took a couple quick gulps, finished half of it, then set it down.

"Alright, poker?" He asked, as the three of us laughed. I nodded in agreement, as Amoy walked off to get the cards. I moved and sat down in the other seat beside Dasom with a smile.

"You don't have to play if you don't wanna! We won't judge if you just wanna do your homework and talk while we hang out. Everyone is different. It's just something we've been doing since the 8th grade." I told her, as she smiled and nodded.

"Alright, well, I'm gonna sit this out and watch you guys while getting some work done. I now have extra homework because someone couldn't stop bothering me during english!" She joked, as Jiro rolled his eyes and nodded.

"I know! All Amoy and Fayola do during first block is bother the crap outta me! And still pass the class perfectly fine!" Jiro complained and glared at me. I just laughed sheepishly and picked up a chip.

"Well, at least you're still passing too..." I mumbled, as Amoy barged into the room, and held up the deck of cards.

"Pull our your money, bitches! Because I'm about to rob your asses in this game!"

***

It was around 6 P.M. when Jiro and Amoy decided to head home. We played poker for about an hour, as Jiro actually beat our asses in the game, and got about forty bucks out of it. After that we all sat around to finish homework and chat. It was actually a good time, as we discussed random topics and how Amoy wouldn't shut up about this specific boy band.

Since Jiro and Amoy live close to one another, I volunteered to drive Dasom home. I got scolded first by the three of them to drive safer this time, as I simply waved it off and agreed. Dasom and I got into the car, after saying goodbye to the other two, as I drove a bit more cautiously for Dasom's sake. She told me directions as I drove, as the car ride a bit awkward. Finally, she broke the ice with a question I wasn't prepared for.

"So...You dating anyone?" She asked out of the blue, as I snorted to that.

"Nah, not really. No one's peaked my interest in a while. So, until I find someone like that, then I'm gonna be single for a while. Why? You dating someone?" I asked back, as she shook her head, and looked out the slightly fogged up window.

"No, my parents aren't really ones to allow me to date, so I've been single my whole life. Haven't even had my first kiss yet!" She laughed as I gasped in shock.

"What?! Okay! New mission before graduation! You gotta kiss someone! Does it have to be a guy or can it be a girl? Cause kissing a girl is sooo much better anyway." I said with a laugh, as she looked at me with a blush.

"You're gay?" She asked with a raised brow and pink cheeks, as I glanced over at her. A smirk broke out onto my lips, as I turned and looked at her fully when we got to a stop light.

"Bisexual actually. Why? You into girls too? Cause I can be your first kiss, right here, right now." I joked, about to turn back to the road, until a deeper blush spread from her cheeks to her neck and ears.

"We-well...Um...I'm not sure. I do find girls attractive and also guys attractive, but I've never defined myself. Besides, my parents would disown me if I wasn't heterosexual, so I'm just straight I guess." She shrugged, as I turned back to the green light, and began to drive.

We sat in silence after that discussion, as I felt unsure how to break the silence again after what she just said. Her parents disowning her for liking the same sex? Now that's just harsh! I thankfully grew up in a house that was supportive of anything I did or who I did (haha get it? Cause ya know fuckin?).

I pulled up to Dasom's cute two-story house about 5 minutes later, since she was only a 10 minute drive from me. I cut the engine and turned to her, her cheeks still a bit pink from our conversation. I took a deep breath, but quickly bit my lip, as I figured out the best way to ask what I wanted to know.

"So...If you didn't have homophobic parents...Would you be interested with going out with a girl?" I asked, as Dasom looked up from her hands, and took in a deep breath.

"Maybe...I'm not sure. I've never been overly attracted to people because my parents don't allow dating. But, if I could, I think I could be attracted to both genders." She confessed, her cheeks a dark red again. I nodded and leaned against the center consel, as I took in every feature on her face. Her button nose, the red cheeks, the porcelain-like skin, her walnut colored eyes-She was made to perfection in my book. I noticed we stared at each other for about 2 minutes, as I quickly cleared my throat and smiled at her.

"Well! If you need a ride to school tomorrow, just let me know!" I joyfully expressed, as she slowly nodded and smiled my way.

"Alright, I may take you up on that offer! Thanks!" She replied cheerfully, as I could tell we were both a bit more relieved from breaking the staring contest. I was about to turn the engine back on, until a soft pair of lips pressed against my cheek, and froze me in my spot for a moment.

"Thanks for the ride and everything today! I greatly appreciate your kindness!" She exclaimed and shut the door. I quickly looked over at her and watched the way her body swayed with each step to her front porch. She then waved and disappeared behind the front door, as I finally could tell how hot my cheeks were.

I gently touched the spot where she kissed me, then let out a loud groan. I slammed my head against my steering wheel for a minute, started the engine, and sped off down the road.

"Now I'm never gonna get the thought of those lips against mine out of my head!"

Heyo! What did ya think? I really loved how this chapter turned out from the questions in the car, to knowing a bit more about Dasom's and Fayola's lives!

So, do you think Dasom is telling the truth about her sexuality about possibly liking both genders? Or is she just confused and could only like one?
