Chapter 2: Chapter 1: A Starry Night

<i>Present</i>:

"Kiara!"

"Kiara Valdrough I'm talking to you!"

"Leave me be!"

"Young lady you come back here right this minute!"

Kiara didn't even look back as the sound of her father's voice reaches her ears. She just kept on walking, stomping her feet on her journey to freedom.

All she wanted was to get away from them. It was beyond her what they were doing. How could her own father want her to marry an awful savage like Draco? A man that has killed so many people in cold blood, no doubt some of them innocent. He was the worst person for her to be tied to and for her mother to just stand quietly by and go along with the decision was even worst. But Kiara isn't like her mother, far from it, and she will be dammed if she let them force her into submission.

She won't just go quietly and marry into a loveless life of misery.

That man will not be the first man that she gives herself to just to see her whole self be destroyed by him. She just won't!

Kiara speed-walks into the square of their town with her parents hot on her heels.

"Alder maybe we should give her some time to cool down."

"Nonsense, she's not a child anymore!"

"But-"

"She will face her responsibilities!"

Her father cuts off her mother's words with absolute finality and this causes her to go frantic. Kiara hides from her parents and glances around looking for an escape but all she see's are the people of <i>Pack Vencer. </i>

They are all busying themselves with everyday life, some buying, others selling with little kids running around their feet as they go along.

She sighs heavily.

Most of the people here worship Draco. Its not that they weren't good people, it's just that in their eyes he was their savior - the big, bad warrior wolf. He had won many battles, slayed many monsters but he lacks the core humanity to be a potentially good person. It makes her scoff at the very thought of them being together.

All the people are just going about their businesses, oblivious to the distress their princess is currently experiencing; not that many of them would care.

They cant nor would they do much about the situation if they could, because they may not show it on their faces but deep down some of her subjects resented her for something far out of her control.

Trust that being the princess is not all it's cracked up to be.

Kiara is now nineteen years old, the only nineteen year old girl of this pack that has yet to find her mate. This is the reason her parents are currently behaving like this, thinking that all hope is lost and trying to pair her up with someone like Draco. Usually the prince or princess would be of the first to find his or her mate, later marring and setting the stage for a new and much more powerful generation to be born. Unfortunately there has been no such luck.

The moon goddess really was taking her sweet little time with her.

Kiara sighs as she decides to stop thinking about that. She breaks out of her reverie and just as she was about to give up and give them a chance to catch up with her, the person she should go to pops up in her head immediately.

"Khal", She utters his name with sweet recognition and quickly runs towards where she knows he'll be.

Kiara walks up behind him and lightly taps him on the shoulder.

"Kia!" He screams as he turns around seeing her. "Hi, how are you? Oh my goddess I've missed you too much." he envelopes her in his embrace with a huge bearhug.

He can be so extra sometimes.

"Khal you saw me like two days ago" Kiara scoffs.

"Two days too long" He kisses her cheek and she smiles at him.

"Khal I need your help, father's looking for me. I need somewhere to hide, can I stay with you for a while?"

"Kia, you know that if your father's looking for you, my house is the first place he's going to look. Plus Hailey's coming over and I think she might stay tonight."

"Well isn't that just great? Now I have no other option than to go home. I really don't want to go home Khal."

"What about the secret spot?" One of Khal's friends behind him suggests and Kiara's ears perk up.

"Secret spot?" She arches a brow.

"Its just somewhere in the woods that we go to get away from everything. Its secluded and you know we're not supposed to leave anyway."

"Where is it?", She bursts immediately, but he looks kind of skeptical about the proposal.

"Please Khal? You know I need this. I'd take anywhere at this point to escape them. I can't do this."

"I know that Kia but it's really far out in the woods, I dont think you should be out there by yourself."

"I can take care of myself. If I have to see that man again I'll-"

She stops herself as her eyes glow to life showing the wolf within and he holds her hand.

"Fine"

He gives her the directions to their secret place in the woods and she thanks him, leaving to pack a small bag.

She gathers some food, clothes and any other items she may need for the day and starts her journey.

Kiara follows the directions perfectly, journeying through the woods but when she finally reaches the spot there wasn't anything special or out of the ordinary about it. It was just a field of flowers and a little stream running by.

"Huh, well I guess this is it then."

She was mumbling to herself in thought, not paying attention to where she was going when suddenly her toe meets a rock and she's hollering out in pain.

"Are you kidding me?! Ow ow" She's hopping on one foot and screaming at the ground but then suddenly the unthinkable happens and she looses her footing.

Her world comes crashing down as she falls forward freely onto a moss covered rock.

"Ah!" She braces herself for the pain of the impact but to her surprise the moss parts and she goes straight through. Kiara opens her eyes slowly and she realizes that her chest is in contact with a soft texture. She realizes that she landed on grass and grabs the green savior between her fingers.

"Oh thank Goddess."

Looking up Kiara's eyes come in contact with the most beautiful place she had ever laid eyes upon.

"Well I guess they forgot this part of the instructions."

The clearing was blessed with the sun shining brightly upon it, creating a heavenly glow. It was close to sun set, all the vibrant colours mixing in with each other to create bright, beautiful hues across the sky. The shrubs surrounding the place gave shade but didn't block the beauty of it all. Flowers and beautiful tress plus and big, beautiful pool of water.

<i>This really is a paradise</i>

She walks in and takes a sit down on a rock that seemed to be perfectly sculptured for her butt, giggling softly as she finds humor at this. The rushing sounds of the water could be heard and it only did more to calm her.

This is exactly what she needed right now.

She has been sitting in the clearing for who knows how long now and by this point it was starting to get dark really quickly but she didn't mind it. She was still sitting on the stone, now glancing up at the beautiful universe of lights that very sight takes her breath away.

"<i>The stars will never leave you" </i>

She whispers to herself something that her mother had always told her.

She never really knew if it had a deeper meaning but figured it was because the stars were always there, even in the day when we couldn't see them.

With that thought she finally decides to get up, taking one last glance at the crescent moon which is now in the sun's place.

Grabbing her bag she makes herself comfortable by some rocks, finally deciding to let her guard down and try to rest. Besides, there's no reason for her to be afraid out here. There is nothing that could harm her in a significant way, if anything, something out there should be afraid of her instead.

When there is a full moon Kiara and her people shift from their human forms to much more furry ones. They become one of the most primal and powerful creatures to walk the earth and even though she wasn't able to turn tonight, because its not a full moon she can still defend herself if need be.

The bright moon starts shining down on her and she feels even more at peace.

"Moon Goddess" she smiles and gets up to dips her toes in the water that reflects the twinkling lights of the moon.

She was so at peace in that moment that she only barely heard the slight rustling that occurred in the bushes nearby.

Her head snaps in the direction of the sound, taking no chances. Before she could move again a soft growl sounds out that brings her wolf senses to life and her wolf, Isabel mentally takes over her being.

They turn around swiftly, trying to get a look of what was in close proximity to them but saw nothing.

Suddenly, in the distance, nothing less than a beast makes it self be known to them as it lets out another horrific roar.

What they saw was something unexplainable.

It was A wolf.

Simple enough no? But not so much. It was a red-eyed werewolf without a damn full moon.
