It has been a week now since my life changed in ways that I could have never imagined. Losing my girlfriend to my best friend, and becoming a billionaire, becoming an immortal cultivator and devilishly handsome to boot, all this and more overwhelm my brain as I try not to short circuit. A new path is laid out before me. A new destiny; a grand future that I can't even see the end to. It is mine for the taking. My life for the choosing. My fate and grand adventure await just outside of this door. Unfortunately I seem to have become a shut in this past week and am too depressed to even leave my apartment. With a vast fortune to my name and being able to even by groceries online and pay my rent over the phone, I don't even need to or want to leave my apartment. I know deep down that this is very bad, like extremely toxically bad. However, just what am I supposed to do, when it is so safe and comfortable in my apartment, and the world outside is just so scary and damn frustrating? And it is at this moment, after a week of shutting myself off from the world that I realize something. I am dangerously close to violating my vow to the heavens and myself.
I need to get out there and make something of myself! Just because I am now loaded with all kinds of money, doesn't mean I can become some good for nothing! No not at all! I want to become the best man in the world, and to do that I need to put myself out there and risk being hurt. I don't need the money, but since I lost my job this week, I should look for a new one just so that I can make myself reenter society again. I mean, it's only been a week so it shouldn't be that hard right?
Oh how wrong I was. After psyching myself up and getting dressed, and shaving, I grabbed my wallet and keys and barely made it out my apartment door before I started hyperventilating. Smacking my face to calm down, I walked to the elevator and took it down to the ground level. Walking outside, I headed to the parking garage and got into my car. I live in Port Washington, New York, in a rich neighborhood but I wasn't rich until now. Getting into my 2007 Ford Fusion, I get out my phone and plug in the gps for the nearest video game store. I intend to become a clerk at a video game store. I like video games, and they are my people so it should be much easier for me to be around them instead of other people.
Ten minutes later I arrived at the local G-Stomp a video game store and got out of my car slightly less nervous than when I left my building. Taking in deep and slow breaths, I walk over to the door of the store and go inside hearing the bell chime to announce my arrival. The clerk greets me and I walk right over to her. A cute, nerdy and pale goth girl with purple hair and lipstick with bright green eyes is currently staring at me in disbelief. Oh right, I am mister perfect now aren't I? Let's not become conceited. Clearing my throat I asked for the store manager. Stumbling, the girl hurried to the back office and came back with a surprisingly gorgeous woman in a sexy red blouse and black skirt with high heels. With white and asian features, and blue eyes, she was exotic as all hell. Smiling at me and whistling, she said, "Jesus Sherry, you didn't tell me a big shot was here. If I knew I would doll my self up a little bit. Right, the name is Julie, and I am the stores manager. What business do you have with me?"
Smiling warmly at Julie, I finally calmed down and spoke. "I am actually here looking for a job. I don't need the money, but I definitely want hours and I love video games. Being around my people every day would be a great boost to my self confidence." Dumbfounded by my unexpected reply, Sherry and Julie looked at each other with their jaws hanging low before Julie began to laugh seductively and said, "Oh? Is that all then? I for sure thought that you were coming to invest in our store or something, but since you want to work, I can only say, YES, YES, ABSOLUTELY YES!" Julie yelled the last few words with a fire in her eyes for some reason, and then shook my hand enthusiastically. Running to her office, she came back with an application form which I filled out in a couple minutes flat. Handing it back to her, and once she was certain that everything was in order, Julie said, "Welcome Clyde, to G-Stomp!"
Things went quickly after that, I was scheduled to work 9 to 5 every day except Sunday starting this Monday. Today is Saturday, so I have a couple of days until I need to start work. Handing me a couple of work uniforms and a couple of name tags that had my name on them, Julie bade me farewell until Monday, and I made my way hurriedly out the door.
Phew. Those two were a whirlwind of energy for sure. Now I have a job squared away, next thing on my to do list is to join a local gym. I intend to get stronger after all. I can't just depend on cultivation to get stronger, I need to put in some physical effort myself as well. Making my way to the local Jay's Workout Center, I went inside and signed up for a VVIP Membership which includes a full body massage after I am done working out for the day, and a nice hot tub to sit in and soak. It is money well spent. And so, I spent the better part of three hours working out and was astounded at my strength. I can lift over three times my body weight effortlessly, and can run indefinitely on the treadmill at the top speed at the highest incline. It looks like improving is going to be really hard, and I am going to have to do some manga like work out montages to really wear out my body.
Finally back at home, I collapse on my bed. I am not physically tired, nor mentally either, but still I feel like I did a lot today even though it wasn't really that much at all. Today went well, I guess there is really nothing to do until Monday. I am really looking forward to my first day of work. It is not the bank like my old job was, but I love video games, so in a way it is fulfilling regardless. Monday I am going to make you my bitch! Be ready!
