Chapter 25: Shengguan Xuanye
I was heading towards the city where Lingxi was cultivating. If she wan't guarding Lingxi, her mother might have come to the gambling. I reached there soon and found that Gu Mingyuan was guarding Lingxi inside the small space.
I let myself in and appeared on her side. She became alert but relaxed after seeing me. She then explained me how she has been cultivation all morning. I could see that the energy was completely absorbed. It would take her an hour to absorb those last traces so I removed the formation around her.
I nodded and said,"Senior Gu, she completed absorbing and is now comprehending the last traces of energy. She is at 3rd rank Utmost Exalted peak but I don't think she will breakthrough. She needs a chance to make that breakthrough."
Gu Mingyuan shook her head,"She already achieved 3rd rank Utmost Exalted. I am already beyond satisfied. She will definitely breakthrough on her own to 4th rank Utmost Exalted."
After some time Chu Lingxi opened her eyes. She immediately starting jumping up and down with happiness. When she saw her mother she immediately hugged and both of them started crying.
She then separated from her mother and said,"Little brother Chu Feng, it seems I owe you once again." She had a fake troubled expression on her face but that didn't hide her happiness. She had a good reason to be happy. Her strength was at the top of Ancestral Martial Starfield. She can still improve in the future.
I smiled and said,"You are only a small distance away from 4th rank Utmost Exalted."
She immediately changed her expression and turned to her mother saying, "Mother, we should escape while we can. With my power we can activate the teleportation formation."
I laughed as her mother shook her head and explained what happened yesterday to her. To say she was shocked would be an understatement. After talking about each other's experiences for a while I turned serious,"The competition this time is going to be chaotic."
I then explained them about the details and the risk factor of the competition this time.
I looked at Lingxi and said,"Elder sister Lingxi, I am not going to sugarcoat the facts. As you are right now, there is no point in participating in this competition. Right now without any Exalted Taboo Martial skills, you would be the weakest 3rd rank Utmost Exalted participant. Of course if you increase your cultivation to 4th rank Utmost Exalted using your bloodline then you would have very less rivals. The issue is with the location of the competition. One mistake and you could loose your life."
She then looked at me with a determined expression,"I can't always stay behind someone else. I have to move forward on my own so I still want to participate."
I sighed and said,"I was going to give you this after the competition but it might increase your strength a little. It might even let you breakthrough to 4th rank Utmost Exalted."
I then took out the bottle containing about 1000 drops of Conquerstar Dew and gave her.
Gu Mingyuan asked me,"What is that chu feng? Is it another natural treasure?"
I know why she asked so I replied,"Yes. But it's function is slightly different. It doesn't help much in cultivation but increasing one's talent. Well, the talent shouldn't be too high or it won't work."
I then continued with slight embarrassment,"My talent is very high so it won't bring any gain to me. Actually Senior Gu, you would gain the most if you consume that. It is also not that hard to refine. It is very easy to integrate into one's bloodline. Lingxi will also gain but not as much as you as her talent is higher."
Gu Mingyuan then shook her head and said,"It is better for Lingxi to use it. Talent is very important in the long run especially for her. "
I then shook my head and smiled. I then told Lingxi,"Elder sister, consume it 10 drops at a time and when you find out that the effect is becoming negligible then stop and give the remaining to your mother."
She nodded and said,"Are you prepared for the competition? With your strength getting first place is guaranteed. I heard the prize for the first place is bloodline water that can greatly enhance the cultivation."
I nodded,"At my level that tiny amount of bloodline water is useless but inside the Dragon Fighting Stage there is a martial skill that I want."
That's when I got an idea about the bloodline water. Hehe, yeah let's do it like that.
At another location in the Storm World,
Unlike the rest of the storm world which is filled with storm clouds and snow, this place is filled with caves. There was also a unique aura coming from the one of the caves. This aura was quite suitable for cultivation. Coincidentally this place was discovered by Yin Dao Palace. They sealed off the surrounding space and let their junior Yin Buyu occupy this place.
Currently inside the cave Yin Buyu was absorbing the aura while thinking to himself.
He the hatefully shouted,"That Damn Chu Feng, Who does he think he is to take away my glory? How did some one like him get deduced as the winner by the gambling formation?"
He then clenched his fist,"I will show him who the real genius is in the competition."
Suddenly a laughter could be heard outside the cave as the voice said,"So, is this chu feng the strongest fighter?"
Yin Buyu immediately came out and shouted,"Bastard, who would dare enter this sealed area?"
When he came out of the gate he saw a black clothed youth standing outside. He had a long black hair and looked ordinary. He confirmed that this youth was not a part of Yin Dao Palace.
He then smiled and said,"You have been stealing my cultivation resource all this while. You should be able to recognise this."
He opened his hand and a black flower appeared. This was the resource Yin Buyu was absorbing. As soon as he saw it his eyes filled with greed. He immediately ran forward to snatch it away. But he rebounded and hit the cave behind. That's when he understood he was no match for this youth in black robe.
He then shouted,"Sir, please don't kill me. I am from the Yin Dao Palace. My palace master is also here."
The black clothed youth smiled with utmost disdain and replied,"Not to mention a trivial force like your's, I don't even care about the Holy Light Clan."
He then asked,"Is this Chu Feng the most talented person participating in the tournament?"
Yin Buyu knelt down and immediately said,"Yes sir. However he is also an extremely arrogant individual. He said that everyone else was trash. I think you can teach him a lesson with your strength sir."
The youth just smiled and said,"You sure know how to kiss someone's ass. It seems I won't be totally bored."
With that he disappeared along with the seal on the surrounding space.
(Chu Feng's POV)
I was already back at the camp. I was talking to my friends from Ancestral Martial Starfield about the upcoming competition. Some of them wanted to gain some experience but they felt because of their cultivation levels they wouldn't be qualified.
After a while everyone rested and it was a brand new day.
Today was the start of the competition. Everyone gather at a place called Storm Mountain. It was at the core of the Storm Realm. It was also the camp for the Holy Light Clan inside the Storm Realm. There was very little security outside the camp but no one dared to enter. The flags hanging outside were enough to block any crowd.
Right now the surroundings of the Holy Light Clan's camp were filled with people. They were waiting for the start of the competition.
The younger generation from different forces had eager looks on their faces. I already noticed the black cloaked guy's gaze for a while. I finally looked at him with a bored gaze.
He gave me a creepy smile and did a 'I'll kill you' gesture. This guy, he is hiding his strength using a treasure. His cultivation is 8th ranked Utmost Exalted but I can feel something weird about him. It's as if he is purposefully restraining himself from making a breakthrough.
I then looked at the eight youngsters beside me and said,"If you meet that black guy, run. Even if you try everything none of you are a match for him."
I then sent a sound transmission to Xiaoxiao,"I mean it. Don't try to fight him. Even if you use dragon source vein, you won't be his match. I also recognise that attire of his. His background is also terrible."
She replied to me with a transmission,"Is he not from our galaxy?"
I replied,"No. Let me put it this way. The force behind him can crush the Nine Soul Sacred Clan."
She was instantly alarmed but before she freaked out I continued,"Calm down. Since he didn't expose himself, he must have a purpose. Also don't expose him. That force doesn't appreciate public recognition."
Then suddenly every thing came to halt as a world shaking noise came from the horizon. The clouds shifted as a massive flying ship appeared in the sky. The ship had a huge city, a river and a mountain range on it. It was like a mobile province. At the helm of the ship was a form standing. As the ship came nearer this form started to become clear. It was an old man with a sharp gaze and an imperial presence. He was wearing a silver armour and a silver crown.
This was the current Clan Head of the Holy Light Clan, Shengguan Xuanye. He was also the ruler of the Holy Light Galaxy.
His cultivation was the highest out of everyone present, 5th level Martial Exalted.
He wasn't giving out any aura but the air seems to change wherever he went. Behind him stood 18 figures. They were carrying very strong auras. All of them were Martial Exalted experts. Their strength varied from 1st to 3rd level Martial Exalted. In this part of the world, this was an impressive line up. Although they were absent right now, I knew the Holy Light Clan had Supreme Elders with a cultivation of 4th level Martial Exalted. In the eastern region the Holy Light Clan was definitely a very strong force.
Now that I can see him upfront like this I could tell that his cultivation was inferior to the two supreme elders of Nine Soul Sacred Clan who were guarding Miaomiao. His cultivation was also inferior to Lady of Dao Sea.
However he is on another level compared to Elder Li Fengxian of Hidden Dragon Martial Sect. With me as an exception he is far stronger than everyone here.
Also to be the overlords of an entire galaxy they must definitely have some trump cards hidden away along with some powerful connections. So, even with my current strength if I want to change the galaxy, it won't be enough just to defeat this guy.
Again all boils down to strength.
As soon as the ship came to a halt everyone in the audience bowed down and greeted, "We greet the esteemed Lord Clan Head"
The only exceptions were me and that black youth but he didn't seem to pay attention.
He slightly waved his hand, straightened everyone and said,"You don't have to be overly courteous."
He then started to explain the rules of the competition. It was held at a place called Rampaging Storm Dragon Fighting Stage. It was a small world that belonged to the Rampaging Storm Clan. It was a place where they used to train their juniors. The clan was know to be cruel to it's own people so the difficulty of such a trial space could be imagined.
However, the rewards were also bountiful. There was a possibility of obtaining a martial skill inside the space. The martial skills that belonged to the Rampaging Storm Clan must be top notch. There were also the rewards that the Holy Light Clan promised to the top 10 contestants. Then came the reputation of the strongest juniors.
He then looked at the whole crowd and said,"I have to tell you in advance, there is a chance of loosing your life inside this trial space. So if you are not confident in your strength, don't participate."
Except a few people the rest had their heads down when they heard that. The ones beside me didn't and were unperturbed. They also had their heads up. He looked at me for a second as his eyes narrowed.
I gave him the same bored look I gave the black cloaked youth. He then turned his gaze to the rest of the crowd and said,"So who among you has the courage to enter the Dragon Fighting Stage."
One after another many youngsters expressed their desire to participate. Shengguan Xuanye looked satisfied when he saw this. He then declared,"I hereby declare the start of the competition. There is also no minimum requirement. As long as you are under 100 years of age, you will be able to enter the Dragon Fighting Stage."
With that he took out a treasure and started opening and entrance to the small world. After a brief spatial distortion, an portal appeared along with a view of the Dragon Fighting Stage.
As soon as the entrance appeared everyone dashed inside. I could hear countless cheers from the surrounding. I decided it��s time to join them.
