Chapter 2: Step 2
I was already 25 years old and so far I never fell in love or even dated someone.
I just had a vague idea of the word 'Love'.
I know it might sound like a lie, but I wasn't interested being in a romantic relationship, maybe also because I never met the right person, who knows.
I am satisfied with what I have now.
I don't miss anything in my current life.
Today we held a birthday party in my house and I was so happy that Rosalie and my parents were be able to come too. I hugged them and cried tears of joy when I saw them again after so long time.
I sat on the couch near my lovely sister while the other guests were enjoying themselves by dancing and drinking.
"So how are studies going sis? I bet you're always first during the exams!" I joked with Rosalie as I held her left hand with right one.
"Studies are proceeding well Emy. Well, I try my best in exams, I want our parents to be proud of me." she answered smiling and hearing that made me wonder if they were proud of me too as much as they surely already are towards Rosalie.
"Of course they are proud of you Rosalie, you don't have to doubt about that-" my phrase was interrupted as our childhood friend approached us.
"Hey Rosalie, how are you? It's been so long, girl! Still defeating those exams like a boss!" Ray greeted my sister, joking with her too, before he sat next to her.
"Hi Ray! I'm still alive as you can see, how about you? I train with games before I take those exams!" the girl with golden hair joked back to the brown haired male before she started having a conversation with him.
'Ray looks so happy seeing Rosalie again and so I am!' I thought as I was smiling and laughing while listening to their conversation filled with laughs and jokes, but suddenly a sound coming from my sister's pocket interrupted the three of us.
Her phone was ringing.
'Oh, I wonder who it might be... Maybe a friend from her university.'
My mind thought that as I saw Rosalie get up, as she said she had to answer that call and she'll be back soon, before she went out of the house pretty quickly.
'I hope she doesn't have to leave right away because of that call or something...' I got a bit worried thinking of that and without realizing it I was already showing a bit of sadness on my face, which was caught immediately by Ray.
"Hey Emy, she's not going to leave okay? She just had to answer a call." the kind male with dark brown eyes reassured me as he held my right hand with his left one, trying to make me feel better, and as I was about to actually smile and feel reassured by his words...
Suddenly my sister came back in and asked me:
"Emma, can you turn off the music for a bit, please?"
'What happened...?' I questioned myself before I told her it wasn't a problem, so I got up and turned off the music, making the guests that were dancing stop too.
The blonde haired female cleared her throat a bit before she spoke...
"Before we cut the cake, I... I wanted to say that I invited another person... If that's okay for you... Emy?" she asked to me hesitantly and I didn't even hesitate a single second to give her my answer.
"Of course it's okay for me Rosalie! More people there are, more fun we'll all have!" I said with a big smile, without realizing that both of my parents were giggling a bit, making it seem like they already knew who was coming.
"Thank you so much, Emma! At first, he said he couldn't come, but it seems like he made it in time... It's a little awkward, but I'd like to introduce to... all of you... um... um...
my boyfriend..." she literally... just whispered that last phrase of hers... and a hint of pink color was already visible on her cheeks as she stated those words.
'What... Did she... Just say...?'
Silence fell on the house for a moment as soon as all the people in the room heard Rosalie's words. Everyone was surprised to hear that from her because we all thought she was still single, me included.
'She never mentioned during the phone calls we had before that she was dating someone... We promised each other to never have secrets between us, but how come...
How come she haven't told me about this...?'
I felt a stab in my chest as that thought ran through my head, thinking also she's starting to leave me out of her life...
But right in the second I tried to return to my own senses and say something, my heart stopped to beat for an instant and my eyes already widened in bewilderment.
A handsome male with raven hair and a pair of beautiful emerald eyes made his entrance in the house, making everyone's mind go blank.
I was speechless. Everybody was speechless.
He was so good-looking and charming. He was wearing a white shirt along with a pair of dark blue jeans, and the black belt he had around his waist made his body even more graven.
Everything he wore looked like common to me, just like any other shirt, jeans or belt I usually see in the clothes shop, but because of his body now those piece of fabrics looked like on another level of design.
As I was still admiring the magnificent features of the male that just arrived, my eyes witnessed his right arm slip around Rosalie's waist, before he gently pulled her closer to his body as he whispered against her left ear... Seductively and loud enough for us to hear that too...
"Rosalie, say it louder who I am to you."
His male voice filled the house, breaking the silence that was suffocating us, as all the eyes in that living room were directed towards the owner of that splendid voice.
It was a firm and calm, yet warm and gentle voice able to catch everyone's attention in just a second... And it really did that.
'Now I know why you kept this secret away from me, Rosalie.
I would have done the same thing...
If I was you.'
Those thoughts invaded my mind as I kept looking at the couple in front of me and if until today, I didn't care about love or anything related to that...
Everything fell apart just in this moment, because of this man that I was enchanted by.
'I want to know him...'
My head was completely filled with that thought, as my eyes were still pasted on his figure, before I saw him getting closer to Rosalie's face and giving her a feathery kiss on her left cheek, which made me blush a little too, along with Yume's cheeks as well that were already pinker than before...
And again, that low yet sensual voice of his filled the silent room once more.
"Come on, Rosalie. Say It."
Things change, as nothing remains in the same way forever and without knowing, we were already changing...
Along with our feelings too.
