Chapter 42: Bon~chan!
Koby is now training really hard on running on the surface of the sea, He wanted to catch up to the ship. Doing the naruto run he somehow managed to board the ship. You can really grow fast in dire situations! resting in the meantime he takes out his pokédex to check his stats.
the last time he checked it, he was in loguetown preparing for the grand line. He also needs to check all his equipment and such, since the alabasta will be where Baroque works and the straw-hat pirates will clash. His team should also be checked.

Koby looks at his hard work, it pays off all the things he practiced especially the [Aura Barrier]. It can also be a shield, and using this he can temporarily stay afloat and stand at the surface of the sea. His next objective is to step on the barrier in the air. He also needs to master the Battle bond with Monferno.
After checking his stats, Koby focuses on his equipment this time. first up was his diamond aura gloves, it really helps him to use more aura and it makes it easier for him. it's also very hard and badass to look at. next is, his golden protector gear. it doesn't protect that much but it helps Koby to deal damage using his knee and elbow. It is also good for training since it was heavy.
After the gear, His 2 guns are next. Koby dual-wields the gun. Using [Aura Bullet] as his ammunition, He will run out of it if he can't use aura from exhaustion. Koby still didn't know what to do to improve his gun, Maybe using a seastone bullet or something. He can also use this gun to propel himself for a while.
For now, he had some achievements from training Aura, He can now detect people close to him and their rhythm. Even now, he can sense his crewmates discussing Vivi's hometown to their newest and youngest Nakama at the deck. There is a different rhythm of aura for every person, Koby knew that he can detect malicious intent from every living thing including animals and fish in the sea.
Although he still can't detect non-living thing, this is for him to figure it out, Unlike Haki, he can't detect bullets and such. He still needs more time to practice and complete Sir Aaron's set. He has sir Aaron's gloves which make him use aura easily, Now he lacks staff which will strengthen the aura so much. Last is the cloak, this will make aura easier to assimilate elements to his neutral type aura.
Koby had used a flame type aura when he and Monferno battle bonded in whiskey peak. his flame type aura had a massive leap in destructive power than his neutral type aura. Now he really wants to add more types to it. thinking about his future, he still needs more time for his growth.
After Koby had assessed himself, next was his team. His Pokémon were Monferno and Grovyle, while his other animals are the Dino rangers, Usagi (lapahn), Coo, Momoo, and Tora (giant tiger). He wonders that maybe he will release Momoo since it has a family that was threatened by Arlong. Koby would need Chopper translation to help him out.
He and his team are not yet done in their potential, His Pokémon aren't in their final form yet, He wonders if Monferno has a mega evolution. He will surely buy the mega stone for Grovyle/Septile. The Dino rangers are also gigantic and tough, Koby's Dino rangers will only have 1 move for their specialties and their highest stat. While the other animal's stats are!

He felt content with this. He had only Chimchar, Salt, and Coo when he first started his Journey with this crew. Now, his team is growing more and more, especially since he got the money to buy a new Pokémon egg, He also wanted to buy some stones for his Dino ranger, For Red and Yellow.
During his time in the drum castle, There's not only weapons and cannons in the room. A treasure box was also there, He had negotiated with Dr. Kureha about it. Since he was the one who got the key there, He was the advantage of it hence he got some nice cash there.
He was done checking the stats now, He moved to the group at the deck and joined them. He only heard what Luffy said.
"I see... then, In any case! I'll beat that Crocodile guy!" (Luffy)
"That's enough!" (All of the crew there except Luffy & Koby)
"Yo?! I'm Back!" (Koby)
They looked at Koby and welcomed him back and they did their traditional Straw-hat circle meeting! with new faces in there, Vivi and Chopper were added.
They had a meeting and discussed that Baroque works have a simple system, It starts with Mr. 0 as the head and next was the agent officer numbering from Mr.1 to Mr.12 and then after this is the "millions" who are subordinate to the officers and more from "billions" who are also part of the organization as a mob. It adds up to a total of 2000 people according to Vivi.
Usopp eyes almost fell out by the numbers of it, Nami, and Chopper was also shocked. Luffy and the rest are excited about this. The meeting concludes when Nami checked her Log pose and it was pointing on the island, Alabasta.
The Going Merry was sailing peacefully, Each of the pirates there is doing their own thing to pass the time. Zoro was having a nap on the deck, Sanji is cooking the fishes that Usopp caught and was making a snack for the women at the lounge. Luffy, Chopper, Karue, and Usopp are using their Superior Rod for fishing.
Since Chopper doesn't have one, Koby gave him his own Superior Rod as a welcome gift. Nami and Vivi were having a nice girl's talk then Vivi decided to take a breather outside. Nami at the lounge could see Sanji cooking something, She doesn't mind having a snack since Sanji made it.
Nami turned to her side and observed the pink-haired boy. Koby was studying the books he bought at the Islands they had visited. Using his eyeglasses, he really looks like a bookworm guy.
"Heh~, Didn't know you have books Koby, Want to use my bookshelf in my room?" (Nami)
This made Sanji and Koby stop doing their business. Sanji complained that Koby could go inside the heaven's room of the ship and felt Jealous. Luckily Koby declined and told them that His backpack has a lot of space inside of it. He then continues to study more about the Grand Line's ecology!
Vivi looks at the three who were fishing, She can't find her pet Karue. She approached the three.
"Luffy, Tony-kun, and Usopp-san have you caught anything?" (Vivi)
*Kwak Kwak Kwak*
"Hm... AHHH! Karue~! Noo!" (Vivi)
"I wonder if I can catch fish bigger than Usopp's fish!" (Luffy)
"Hahaha! You still need 100 years to beat me from fishing. I am the Great Usopp!" (Usopp)
"Oooh... As expected of a brave warrior of the sea! How coooool~!" (Chopper)
"L-Luffy?! What are you... doing to KARUE!" (Vivi)
Vivi smacked Luffy, Usopp laughed at Luffy and the 2 started to play with Chopper by having a fishing contest. Vivi noticed something at the sea and called their navigator. Nami and Sanji went out while Koby stayed.
Nami explains the steam that was rising there was from an underwater volcano that is erupting that's why steam could be formed. Sanji went into simp mode and praises his beloved Nami~swan. he then went back to the kitchen to finish his dish
The ship is now passing by the steam, The rest were coughing since the steam is irritating to the nose. It continues until they passed it. Luffy's jaws dropped by what he caught in his rod. Usopp feels the same. Karue was also surprised and lets out a cry.
"Shoot~! Why did I jump on the duck that I saw at the steam~?! Oh? Ah!!" (???)
The weird person falls and was drowning. He calls for help telling them he can't swim. After what happened, They are now in the deck. The weird person was thanking them for saving him. Luffy and the others then questioned him why he can't swim and asked for his devil fruit.
The weird person confirmed it and performed his fruit to the others. It was a Copy-Copy fruit. he then explained that when he touches his face with his left hand, he will turn back to his own face.
Luffy and his fellow young friends deeply admired this weird person and the 4 of them got along together. After the ballerina performed more of his power, Vivi was shocked to see the face of her father, She was still shocked when the ship of the weird person showed up.
They had a small friendship and the weird person said his farewell to the straw-hat pirates. After boarding his ship he ordered his crew to set sail, The crew responded. the ship moved away.
"Yes sir! Mr. 2 Bon Clay-sama!" (Mobs)
The straw-hat pirates were surprised. they didn't think that weird person was Mr. 2, their enemy! They discussed the power of Bon Clay since that guy had already copied their appearance. Vivi also shared to them that his father's face was one of the faces they had seen.
Luckily Zoro has a master plan. Koby and Sanji also came out because of the commotion. They heard about it. Nami said that the weather is now safe and stable and Vivi confirmed that they entered Alabasta's climate area.
Usopp with his super goggles could see many boats/ships of the Baroque works. he reported it to them. The rest of them prepared themselves by tying some clothes in their left arm. Chopper was also helping and asking what he should do. Luffy can now see the Island!
"Let's stop at the town called Nanohana. We have to hide the ship." (Vivi)
"Yosh~. At any rate, No matter what happens, This thing on our left arm is the sign of our friendship! Well then, Let's go! to a restaurant and to Alabasta!" (Luffy)
