Chapter 56: Smoker's promotion?
◇5 days later◇
At the port, The ship Going merry was preparing to embark on another journey in the sea, there was a group of people there that was crying a lot because a certain princess didn't join the crew. Our protagonist was one of the people that was crying. He too had become close to Vivi since she was his biggest donor.
Koby couldn't help but think about the past days he had done in Alabasta. Starting from day 1:
◇Day 1◇
It was after landing on the ground that the rain started to fall. Koby didn't know what happen but there's really a downpour happening on the island, Maybe something happened to the bomb.
Koby's Nakama had already had caught up to him. Smoker was already gone when they land, that guy was still coughing. Somehow, Koby felt guilty since he was the one who planned it.
"Kobyyyy! You saw it right?! it was right beside you in the sky! That means..." (Usopp)
Usopp was really hyped and was tearing up, Nami and Chopper too.
Sanji and Zoro too had this smile.
"Yeah, I saw it! it's true." (Koby)
""""HE WON!!!""" (All the straw hats gang)
Koby joined them in cheering, He is still a boy and also a fan of these guys. It's really a sincere reaction for him.

With a crashing sound, Crocodile had fallen to the ground after he flew out of nowhere. He was knocked out and full of bruises.
The Royal soldiers had already surrounded this guy and were waiting for the authorities to come. Chaka was the first one to arrive and ordered the soldiers to keep guarding it and be prepared for any situation that may happen. The rebel army's leader and its core members were also here, if it was before they knew that it was all the plot of this man, it would surely turn into a battle.
Koza arrived here together with Sanji and the rest of his friends in the rebel army, they didn't bring any weapons. They're here to seek forgiveness and repent for what they did.
Shortly after, The Navy had arrived. It was Tashigi who went and recited what crimes Crocodile had done. while the other marines were in their salute formation and were also surrounding Crocodile.
"Sir Crocodile, president of the secret crime syndicate Baroque Works, one of the seven warlords... We have received word that Baroque works owned an artificial rain-making ship and discovered a lot of dance powder on it." (Tashigi)
Tashigi took a moment to breathe and announced loudly. She also thought of what this guy said to her when She encountered him with the king, 'Losers can't speak about justice. we're in that kind of sea', and She also remembered telling Straw hat Luffy the location this guy went.
"In the name of Navy Headquarters, an agency directly under the World Government, I hereby strip you of your authorization to capture enemy ships, as well as all the rights bestowed upon you by the Government. That's all. Arrest them all." (Tashigi)
Putting handcuffs on all the tied and unconscious prisoners, They managed to find all the agents except Mr.2.
while this was happening on the plaza, On the other place of the capital. Our protagonist and his crewmates are walking to find their Captain.
"Ma~ Mamamma! Over here, Strawhat gang." (???)
Somebody had called the group. they turned towards the voice. They saw Igaram who they met at whisky peak and was known as Igarappa there, carrying Luffy at his back. they also could see another old guy at his side.
"Huh... That's the old pervert from Whisky peak!" (Zoro)
"So he was alive!" (Nami)
"Umm.. Who is it?" (Chopper)
"Old man, thanks for carrying that guy on your back. He's our captain, I'll take him now." (Sanji)
The other old man reacted to this and observed them closely.
"So, You're the pirates who brought Vivi back to this country?" (Cobra)
"Yes, my king. They're the ones who had prevented this disaster." (Igaram)
Sanji had already taken Luffy on his back and together, all of them were moving towards the palace. Vivi had also joined them and was really happy for Igaram to be alive.
And while walking, The king had already told them what happened with Luffy. Chopper had done his assessment of Luffy and informed them that the poison is already neutralized. Cobra especially told them that Luffy doesn't want his friend(Vivi) to die that's why he's risking his life to stop Crocodile. All of what happened there were relayed to the others except for what happened to robin.
When they were close to the square, The crew urged the Royal family to go on ahead to inform the people of their victory. Vivi at first wanted to tell everyone there about what the crew had done. They quickly denied it since they are also an outlaw/pirates. they had no intention of getting involved with a country. Vivi agreed and went on ahead.
Seeing this, the crew tension was lifted and almost all of them plopped down to the ground and rested for a moment. Only Koby and Zoro, who had rested a while ago, were up.
After a few minutes had passed, Zoro readied his Katana. He was ready to slice and attack anyone who tries to disturb the others in their rest. Looking up, His expression of pure focus had turned into a very annoyed face.
"Roronoa Zoro! I see you're still alive. let's go, everyone!" (Tashigi)
"B-but lieutenant... We can cap-... As you wish!" (Navy Mob A)
"T-that w-woman is still annoying." (Zoro)
Tashigi led her subordinates who were complaining that they didn't arrest the straw-hat gang. Zoro also was annoyed because Tashigi face looks really like his childhood friend.
"Huh... Is that the woman who you're with at Loguetwon right?" (Koby)
"HOW THE HELL DID YOU KNOW THAT?!" (Zoro)
Koby giggles when he saw Zoro's expression, The swordsman noticed Koby and was aiming to cut him down. He stood up and told Zoro that he has business with the Navy, Zoro will be in charge of letting them rest. Zoro grumbles and lets Koby do his thing.
Koby tailed the Navy until it was nightfall and also took his rest inside of an abandoned house beside the Navy's camp.
As for the others, They are already in the palace and were sleeping well. They are getting taken care of as an important guest.
◇Day 2◇
Koby had woken up and noticed that the rain had already ended. He resumed tailing them until they are in a port. two Navy warship was there and also an ugly ship with the sign Baroque Works.
"Captain Smoker, Miss Hina! Sergeant Major Tashigi has arrived." (Navy A)
Koby heard someone announced this and went in front of the crowd right behind the Bob-cut girl. marine's at the port had greeted those marines that have the prisoners.
"It's been a while, Tashigi." (Hina)
Koby noticed that the girl was tired for some reason. the girl excuses herself to rest on the ship since she was tired. He stayed on his spot right in front of a lady that has the same color as his hair. he was amused that even though he didn't have a marine uniform, nobody noticed it except a man that was on the ship looking at his subordinate and glancing at him from time to time.
"Captain Smoker, I have returned. And I know you had received word of what I did in front of the straw hat pirate crew. I'm sorry... I know my doing was shameful as a marine." (Tashigi)
"Tch.. Welcome back, but why are you apologizing? isn't it because you follow your own justice." (Smoker)
Koby and the rest could hear the pain in the girl's voice for not having a justice of her own. Tashigi told everyone what Crocodile said, that she helped Luffy for telling the directions. the girl was very frustrated and went on board, she heard her Captain scolding her.
"You Idiot... If you're frustrated enough to cry, Become Stronger!" (Smoker)
"I WILL !!!" (Tashigi)
everyone there could feel the resolution of the girl. Smoker smirks, He scolded the marines and wish for everyone to have this kind of guts. He then commanded them to load the prisoners to the ships. it was busy, it was about time for some of them to notice something wrong, A civilian is somehow crossing the drawbridge to the boat right after Hina.
"Puff... So, what does an arrogant pirate have to do in this place?" (Smoker)
The marines couldn't believe that a pirate would do something like voluntary boarding a navy ship. Hina frowns when the two of them are already on board the ship.
"Calm down Smokey, I'm just here to thank you for what you had done regarding the bomb. well, I guess there are some good marines. heeheehee" (Koby)
"Pfft." (Hina)
Smoker's face darkened at being called Smokey, That nickname would surely spread in the headquarters from now on judging by the way Hina is acting. He should've caught Straw hat Luffy then this nickname wouldn't appear in the first place.
It was at this moment a call from headquarters arrived. His talk with Koby wasn't done yet but he also couldn't ignore it. He took the den den mushi and answered it.
*Gacha*
The man on the den den mushi got into an argument with Smoker immediately. After confirming that it is Smoker on the den den mushi, The man congratulated Smoker and Sergeant Major Tashigi for being rewarded in regards to subduing Crocodile, it was decided by the top officials of the Government.
Smoker and Koby frowned, Smoker denied the claim for subduing Crocodile and told them the truth, That the straw hat gang were the ones who did it. the man told them that they're going to be promoted and was required to attend the medal ceremony. Hina was trying to calm down Smoker and telling him to accept it.
"We took down Crocodile?! My subordinate is in tears because we couldn't do it... You, Could you tell the old geezers at the top, something for me... Go to hell!" (Smoker)
"Smoker-kun! Damn it, we don't know what'll happen to you now. Why are you disobeying the top officials?.. Hina disappointed" (Hina)
Hina had remained the logic in here, Smoker was beyond mad already for being used as a cover-up. and when he tried to stop the call, Koby had stopped him, Smoker blinked and wonders why is this brat still here. well, he had spoken what he wanted, he didn't care anymore he went to take a seat and puffs out more smokes while listening to the kid. He stopped Hina from doing anything and was curious why had this pirate even come here.
"Hello? are you still there?" (Koby)
"... Who is this?" (Messenger)
"Ehem... Pirate Hero, Koby, At your service... Heeheehee." (Koby)
Even Koby doesn't know where and when he had this trait of playing. Maybe it's the influence of his other peers, mainly Usopp, Luffy, and chopper.
"..."
"Oops, Hold on if you're going to order Smokey and the others. Because you'll never know when the trust on the seven warlords system will be still the same or not." (Koby)
Koby could hear many gasps from others, But what he is doing is for his crew and most importantly his ship. It's hard escaping the blockade of the Navy unscathed, he would really need a major plot armor for them to escape it.
"During the battle of my Captain and Crocodile, He had said some interesting words about this and that, I wonder how will the public do when they will hear this?.. yup... Better go to the top officials before doing anything." (Koby)
After taking a moment to breathe, Koby continued.
"I need 1 month off with no pursuers chasing us, And if you guys have something to say. just send someone, We're probably be staying here because of our captain. Also, if I don't make it in time, My crewmates will be the ones doing the favor of releasing this... I'm done, smokey! Ciao~!" (Koby)
Koby had thrown a piece of high-tech earbud to Smoker, He had bought this and gave this to Luffy. He had taken it back when they rested close to the palace. Koby then lets out Pinky and started to fly away from the Navy.
"Are we really letting him go free? Hina amazed." (Hina)
Hearing the recorded voice of Crocodile from the earbud, The two Captains didn't pursue him. Crocodile had done a stupid move of telling all his movements and mocking the Government. If this somehow leaks, The trust in the 3rd power, the seven warlords, would be shaken.
Puffing out smokes, Smoker smirks and was anticipating the reaction of the Top officials.
'Still, how can that kid be so saucy...'
