Chapter 26: Chapter 25

First POV

As soon as I saw the Nomu grab Izuku, I sprang into action. The Nomu flew quickly into the sky and roared. I saw a bit of red drip from Izuku's body, "Blood…" I mumbled.

I looked at my surroundings, hoping, looking, for a way to get to Izuku. There is no way in hell am I letting him die. Gran Torino won't be able to reach him and no one here has a strong enough quirk to propel me forward, let alone get to him themselves. Then, it hit me.

To the left of our little party, there was a destroyed building. That's It!

Quickly, I ran over to the crumbled structure, and saw how the walls had crumbled, made it look like some sort of ramp. The wall was laid at a forty-five-degree angle pointed in the same direction as the Nomu was taking Izuku. I sprinted as fast as I could over to the building and ran up the makeshift ramp. Adding strength to my legs, I pushed my body forward, flying myself through the air right towards the Nomu. It screeched and roared as I latched onto its neck with my arms. It's head flailing from side to side, trying to force me off.

I gripped my knife in my hand and plunged the already blood-stained blade into its exposed brain. The Nomu yelled in pain, as its body became weaker, loosening its hold on Izuku. I pulled my body up onto the Nomu and straddled its neck, my legs wrapped tightly around it and my left hand placed firmly on the head, stabilizing myself as I aimed my next shot.

I gritted my teeth firmly as I plunged the knife back into the center of the Nomu's head, finally killing it as it let out a final roar. I slid down its back and reached out, pulling Izuku safely into my arms as we fell.

I grunted as I bent my legs and used the remaining amount of anger I have stored to decrease the impact on my legs and so I don't fall when I land.

My feet finally touched the floor as my legs bent slightly on impact, Izuku's eyes were tightly closed as he was still in my arms. I looked around blank-faced at everyone, some had a look of relief while others looked shocked and surprised.

Izuku opened his eyes and hissed slightly in pain from his wound. Carefully, I set him down on the road and inspected his side. I sighed with relief, "It's just a flesh wound, it doesn't seem like any organs were punctured, nor were any ribs broken. But, it's bleeding pretty badly. Hey, can someone come over here, you need to apply constant pressure on this until the medics get here." Shouto stumbled over and put his hands on Izuku's side making him grunt in pain.

Standing back up I looked at the heroes, "When the medics finally come, take the other three interns with you. I will go inform other heroes and help to contain and get rid of the other Nomu's laying around."

They all nodded in acknowledgment in unison and I nodded back. I was about to leave until I felt like someone filled with hate was watching us. I looked in the direction that my senses were directing me. I saw the familiar light blue hair and a dark misted man. I couldn't pick up on any details, but their identities were clear, "No way…"

I gulped and chuckled a bit, "Ha, if I see them, they sure as hell see me."

I waved discreetly and smiled in the two figures direction. They gave no reaction, but I knew deep down, they know that I'm here, they saw me wave, and they saw my face…

The two figures seem to be cloaked in darkness, then disappeared. At least now I can confirm it was them who sent these things. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, I gotta focus and warn the other heroes.

"Ale- I mean Z? What's wrong?"

Turning, I saw Izuku looking at me concerned, "Don't worry, nothing's wrong, I just thought another Nomu was coming."

Before, giving him a chance to question me, I ran off in the direction of the most screams and inhuman roars and got back to work, resupplying my power from people as I went.

Midoriya POV

Alex set me down on the road and after giving their announcement to the heroes, turned around and was about to run off before something seemed to catch their attention. Their head turned sharply to the left as their eyes seemed very focused on something.

I opened my mouth and asked, "Ale- I mean Z? What's wrong?"

They turned as their face went back to their normal neutral state, "Don't worry, nothing's wrong, I just thought another Nomu was coming."

"They're obviously lying," I thought to myself as I studied them. I was about to speak again, but I saw that their figure was already fleeing into the night.

I layed up against a nearby, still surprisingly intact building. Most of the heroes ran off to relay Alex's message while about five including, the Water Hero: Manual. He gave us basic first aid to slow the bleeding while muttering under his breath that he should've been a better supervisor, that what we did was reckless, and other things like that.

About ten minutes had passed, and the amount of Nomu roars heard within the city decreased dramatically. I guess the other pros were able to get Alex's message about their weak point. A chorus of what seemed like over a hundred sirens was heard in the distance as I turned my head to see the flashing blue and red lights of ambulances and police cars everywhere.

Soon, several ambulances and police cars drove up next to us and deactivated the sirens. Native was the first one to be loaded up into an ambulance, with Todoroki and Iida getting loaded up into another, and finally me. I was put on a stretcher and put into my own ambulance.

I felt my body getting weak.

Before I let the darkness consume me, my final thought was, I hope Alex will be okay.

*time skip to next day*

I woke up, still a bit groggy. The color white was all around me while I felt dull pains in my body and my vision still blurry. I groaned as the bright light stung and hurt my eyes. My senses returned to me and I was able to tell that I was in a medical room. It smelled of rubbing alcohol, the air conditioner was freezing, and I felt the slight pressure of the wrappings around my body. I took a deep breath as I slowly sat up in the bed, and opened my eyes fully, letting them adjust.

I saw the familiar half red, half white, head of hair to my right, and a certain stressed looking Iida sitting across the room diagonal to me.

"I see that you're awake Midoriya?" Todoroki's voice was as monotone as ever but I could swear I heard something else in there.I looked towards him. His face was as neutral and emotionless as usual, but there was a certain glint of relief in his eyes.

"Yes, I'm awake now, but what about you two!? Were you able to rest or get enough sleep!?" I asked frantically. From what I remember, they were both badly hurt and injured. Todoroki even had blood pouring out his arms and Iida with more emotional scars than physical.

Looking more closely, I saw that Iida had both of his arms in casts and splints in front of his chest while Todoroki had a bandage wrapped around his arm and from what I saw the bottom of one peeking out from under his pant leg.

They both nodded and reassured me that I had nothing to worry about and that they were fine now. After my mini panic, I sighed and looked up at the ceiling, "Thinking about it now, makes it seem like a miracle and a nightmare."

"Yeah…" Todoroki replied distantly.

My eyes widened, "Wait, what about Alex!? Are they okay!?"

"You don't have to worry Midoriya, they're fine. All they had were flesh wounds. Cuts and bruises, nothing major or life-threatening," Iida chimed in.

He still looked rather distressed so I asked carefully, "Um I-Iida? Are you okay? Or at least feeling any better, even by a little?'

He smiled slightly as his eyes met mine, his full of sincerity, "Yes, in fact, this incident will never leave my mind for better or worse. It showed me that to be a hero, your heart must be full of light and love, not darkness and hate. Though the lesson wasn't exactly likable in the way it showed itself, it was a valuable one. Plus, since Stain is now in custody, real justice for my brother has been served to him…"

Me and Todoroki smiled at him and nodded. I'm happy he learned something from this even if it was a bit extreme.

The door slid open as Gran Torina and pro hero Manual walked into the room. Both faces' more on the neutral side as Gran Torino spoke, "Oh, are you wounded kids awake?"

"Gran Torino!" I said happily to myself.

"Manual…" I heard Iida's voice from across the room.

Gran Torino turned his head looking annoyed. He told me as he slowly walked closer to the bedside, "Kid, I've got a lot of complaints about you-"

"O-oh, s-sorry sir-"

"But before that, you've got a visitor."

A tall and bulky man walked into the room, wearing a suit and a police badge. Though, what was most surprising was his head. It looked like a dog's!

"Hosu's chief of police, Kenji Tsuragamae," Gran Torino introduced.
